To be honest, this video has all my losses cut out, and I think it still has the save data of my last playthrough, so yeah pretty much (although I was also referring to the game itself)
I thought this was the first port, which is why the PS1 version apparently has more content (but definitely doesn’t look good), but I agree, will definitely always play this on Dreamcast (if I play it again)
I heard that she was the half of Satan's dead wife and world's creator, Lilith; Arle's the other Half (hence his obsession with her, Carbucle seals the deal since they're the goddess's former companion).
this one didn't have the native Pc port tho but the rom is still translated, i managed to beat 1 and tsuu on a bootleg portable arcade device in a laptop shell with Chinese chipsets and 1000 preinstalled Arcade to Famiclone even ps1 era games in total (don't wanna say in detail it's just some Wish grey area stuff but i validate it very carefully, it is still worth the price). I had Ocd issues when a mainline game is missing from my list and not played when the series only had four numbered entries before Sega bought it. Guess i had to wait for a console dedicated to emulate (xbss or xbsx specifically) those retro games later and try puyo 4. My bought bootleg machine could handle ps1 games but i still want to try Dc version
It's a shame this is supposed to be one of the weaker puyo games. I absolutely fuck with the entire presentation shown here. Also I grew up with Tetris Attack so any puzzle game that shows small sprites of the characters in the middle of the screen squaring off gets bonus points from me.
This is unrelated to the playthrough itself, but it bugs me how refined and classy Arle's outfit gets in games like this. It clashes with her tomboy personality--the simple blue shirt + white tank top over it, short skirt, and asymmetrical armor gave off the impression she wasn't concerned with looking pretty and simply wanted something functional for outdoor adventuring. Seeing Arle in the intro playfully rolling around in the grass while wearing fancy shoulder pads, cape and headwear is such a jarring juxtaposition.
I can see your point, personally don't agree, I think she looks pretty good in this game, though not my favourite Arle design. I definitely prefer designs like the 20th/Tet2 design, but I like the short era where she wore more practical armor too. Probably never gonna change my mind on this now too because of Adventurer Sorceress Arle
@@thetreyceratops For me this game arc is an evolution of the previous Puyopuyos featuring Arle. She's now growing up and taking a bit more seriously the "hero" style but of course, by her own terms. This mix between Puyo & Madou Monogatari artstyle and story is something I deeply appreciated since previous games made emphasis more on comedy than narratives (of course, it WAS fun, I loved it. But Puyo3 really dived more to the kid-friendly humor, leaving the fantastical take a bit aside), and even if it had some issues, I love what this game managed to offer. I'll miss this fantastical world with whimsical creatures and magical lands, now new protags like Amity, Ringo & Atari will take the mantle to a new fanbase with moder interpretations. Arle is a great character, and her style with this game (alongside her companions) really were fantastical.
i find it funny how the leaderboard at the end was "BAD", "BS", "UGH", "WHY", and "NOO" like this isnt the first time you've tried recording this

This is probably the version with the best artwork. The ones before it had stiff animation, the ones after went in another direction.

I love falling asleep to old Puyo longplays
I realized the puyo go derp when on top of/beside eachother
Dude. Dude, this game fucks me up so bad as a Satan fan. Like. It's crazy

Fun fact: Satan's voice actor here would later voice Risukuma
The powers that everyone has, to clear the board a little or mess up the opponent's board is such a good idea. So glad they brought it back.
this game graphically looks PHENOMENAL for 1999 even by todays standards
Not really tbh. Looks pretty standard for 1999 standards.
1:11 is my favorite soundtrack from Puyo Puyo~n! It sounds like a T-SQUARE song
