When I was little, Mom had 2 roosters. one was a multi-colored and would attack us kids and anyone else all the time. But she also had a solid white one who would jump on the colored one when he attacked us. Then after the white one whooped the colored one, he'd come up to us and want to be petted. He would often walk with us and keep the colored one away from us. Whitey was so protective of us kids. We all cried when he died and we buried him with honors.
Brilliant T-shirt Idea! On the front: Cog hill logo On the back: Have footprints from all the animals with the names underneath. Like a signed team jersey.
T-shirt idea: THE COG SQUAD with a group drawing of all the main characters: Mr & Mrs CHF, Chicken Master MC, Farm Boss Peaches, Sheriff Nugget, Pretty Boy Scott, Big Tom Turkey, OG Tip, Barn Cat Pink, Farm Pup Arlo…and maybe an homage to Penny (RIP).
I can see an American Gothic style in this format, all the supporting cast on the background, though Mary Carl wouldn't have a place persea - she, may be a masterpiece herself as perhaps Gorl with pearl earrings, only Egg shaped Pearl's, or The Monalisa with a Silkie sitting on her lap. Lol, okay my imagination gets silly at times. I see shapes in clouds too.
Kelli Cardwell I love your idea!!! The three feathered stars of Cog Hill farm. My request is for wider sleeves, long enough to go to the elbow. I wear a 3X and I have the bat wing upper arms that I need to cover up.
In a hilly area you could put the carport in the down hill area and the main floor up hill. If you don’t change the slope of the land you won’t have to do as much concrete engineering.
I got locked in the barn with the same kind of latch. I was so glad that I was expecting a phone call and had my phone in my pocket. I had to text the neighbor to come rescue me. So glad she was home. Nobody would come checking on me so I would have been in tons of trouble. I removed the catch on that latch the same day, so now the barn doesn’t lock anymore but I am fine with that.
For your new shirts have a preorder with a deadline that way you will know how many to sell without guessing ... Jess and Miah at Roots and Refuge do all preorders for shirt and tote bags sales
Oh my goodness when you all got to the part of the show telling us about the community which you are becoming a part of and those roadside stands which operate on an honor system. Was in many ways was just mind blowing for me. It's really almost unimaginable that these types of communities still exist. I can tell you in all honesty that I'm literally overcome with emotions knowing that there are still people who treasure such togetherness and belonging.
Jason, you are not the only one who deals with anxiety and don't remember names. I struggle with it terribly. I do my best to avoid it all, but it doesn't always happen. May God Bless you! Say hi to Brooke and MaryCarl! 😊
Mr. Jason..We are Hawaiian and known as touchy, feelie kind of people. It was funny that at the 15-20 minute mark,we almost said it at the same time"I wish I could hug him!" You are an amazing person!
U r awesome thats a super cute idea I can't help it idc what these cog hill family ppl do thats including the animals idc ill watch them if they were watering the lawn lol n u kno something would happen the animals would happen by n Jason would talk to them lol
Take two pieces of clothes hangers and bend a 90 at 6". hold one in each hand. if they pull to the right walk to the right. when they start pulling toward each other and cross you either have water or a pipe. Start around your spring to test it. The same can be done to find a well spot
My dad used to do this with a forked limb off a tree. You hold one piece in the left hand, one in the right, with the middle of the forked branch facing Dow toward the ground. The older folks called it a divining fork. They work for some, but seemingly not for everyone. It worked for my dad and I, but not for my mom and sister, if I remember correctly. As I held the forked branch, it would twist so hard, it almost twisted out of my hand. Dad was looking for a spot for a well.
Yes Jason I have same deal. So proud of you for fessin’ up, you are such a humble man. Glad you are widening out. Thanks for sharing. Glad you have Brooke by ur side!
Yes, Jason on vlogging in the beginning it did seem that you were the outgoing one and Brooke was the shy one. I just think it's awesome how y'all are working together. And y'all compliment each other in all I've seen y'all do. And MaryCarl is just the icing and cherry on top!
T-Shirt idea- Cog Hill 40 shirt. Have images that rep Nugget, peaches, Big O, chickens, ducks, pigs, etc. better yet. Cog hill 40 logo on front, and a list of all your animal names.
i think it'd be worth considering a big walk-in fridge like the one the Rhodes family has in their basement, for the CogHill40 to keep all the stuff you can't freeze dry.
A COG 40 Tee Special Addition. That's a good way to kinda reveal the placement of your home pigs garden pond. Ect. So like a Picture tee. NEW LOGO COG 40
Thank you for talking about your anxiety. I have a debilitating anxiety disorder that keeps me from being able to do a lot. Homesteading was something I started doing to combat that. I just made a video talking about mental health and homesteading and how it’s saved my life. Anticipating something happening makes it worse you’re right, it’s called anticipatory anxiety.
I heard on the news yesterday where the price of lumber has started dropping and is expected to come down around 40% from where it is now. Just an FYI!
Jason I'm just the opposite large crowds my anxiety goes through the roof. and you guys are right you never know what people are going through on the inside.
Love the idea of seasonal wear. Good job getting info from Daniel...but You're "gonna need a bigger boat" or barn for your merch❤❤❤ Awesome on getting internet and having workers showing up when they say. Love being able to take this journey with you. Thanks so much for sharing.
I’m so glad you guys are going to a good community. I’ve lived in a few and it’s a relief to know your neighbors want to help their neighbors, as you would help them. This is the third comment I’ve made this post, hahaha! I’m not usually so vocal.
The mark of a good friend is one who accepts you even when you have a red headed fit! 🙂 Enjoy these podcasts so much. It's like sitting down to chat and laugh with friends. Blessings!
Jason I am the same way. I have been busier than ever since quiting the corporate world. It's been wonderful actually because I'm doing what I want to do now. I bet you feel the same. Brooke I absolutely love the hat you have on & the color. You all are doing awesome! 👊💪💜
Im 45 an never had anxiety b 4 but now on an off I have like a panic attack sort of ive been through alot n my life n recently things aren't good n so many ways so God bless u Jason 🙏
I think many people have developed anxiety after this pandemic I think it’s normal after all the recent experiences so don’t be hard on yourself. Just be glad that we are part of the Cog Hill Squad who welcomes us with open arms. Like you I love being part of this wonderful journey that this family are on. Their love and laughter are simply the best medicine that any of us can be included in.
Jason I suffer the same thing and I am a barber of all things have to be alone with someone you think I would be used to it but I am still like 😬 uneasy . You do a good job on podcast !!!
This new land of yours is definitely a Divine Intervention in progress, day after day after day things are just falling into place, one after the other!!! You don't hardly ever speak of religion, but I can tell you have beautiful Christian values in your hearts, nothing needs to be said but it is the reason why everything is falling into place for you!! God Bless!
Amen to that! I pray for the Cog Hill family daily! They seem like very kind, compassionate and caring folks! God bless you LLjean for your kind words! 💜🙏✝️ from Texas
I would love to see an image similar to your logo, however this time the silhouette would be of your family, standing in front of Big O surrounded by chickens, geese, nugget, peaches etc... LOVE THE WORDS Farm Fun Family!
My dad used to be a laborer in California a long time ago and he would bring leftover lumber. He built a storage shed in out back yard mostly our of that wood.
My dad too n California he passed mid Jan it was awful I miss him horribly this Father's day is going to b hard for me but ur comment brought back a sweet memory made me smile 😃so thank u for that
Roots and Refuge Farm youtube channel have artists offer designs they then choose the designs they are going to use each month and people pre-order (so prepay) the t-shirt or hat or stickers etc and their screen printer prints off the t-shirts after the cut off date at the end of the month so there is not as much guessing - they did a vlog about going and visiting their printing company
Jason, I suffer from PTSD and cannot be in large crowds. I am great one one or in a small group of 5 to 10. So, I feel ya and understand. I go to the stores as soon as they open because I don't do crowds.
We need a Cog Hill Nugget shirt and hat. Thank you for all you give us, it is my time to sit and relax with you and you farm family. God bless all of you.
You could form parallel diagonal lines on the front and back of the shirt - "footprints" of Peaches and Nugget, side by side, wrapping around a person.
BROOKE - Basements are nice, but that means stairs. In my opinion, avoid all steps and have at least one walk-in shower. The knees start to go and osteoarthritis sets in when you're in your sixties. Also, consider how close the kitchen is to the carport. Carrying in the harvest is easier if the kitchen has a ground-level door. I want my herb and greens garden just outside the kitchen door to quickly grab that onion, tomato, or lettuce for the meal you're fixing. The screened porch you mentioned will be great for eating the evening meal or morning coffee. It should be close to the kitchen, too. I hope this helps and best wishes with your build.
If you want to take your hydrangeas with you to the new farm, you can take cuttings about 10 inches an take off all the leaves except the top two groups. Dip them in root stimulator and put them in plastic cups with drain holes in the bottom. Put the cups with cuttings in a clear plastic tote with a lid. Keep them in shade. They will grow roots and be ready to plant in the spring time. You may have to bring them inside during winter. I took 6 cuttings from a neighbor and two survived! I planted them and both are thriving! One has flowers already!
Nugget with Cog Hill like the chicken shirt Mrs. CH has on. My anxiety is the opposite of Jason’s. OK with one on one, anxious in a crowd. When invited to a party I always hoped the people would have a pet & if they did I made a beeline for it!
I am like you Kim. My mom was the oldest of 7 so our family gathers on her side were a minimum of 32 people. That doesn't include extended family or family friends. I love them all but I like one on one. I am getting better. Well, it really depends on the day. haha
I lived about 4 blocks from Big Bob Gibson’s for 20 years. I moved from Alabama 19 years ago and I still miss their BBQ stuffed potatoes and their white sauce.
I absolutely understand the social anxiety! I can message on messages all day long. One on one or a situation where I may get attention brought to me are extremely hard.
My mother has a. 70 year old friend that had same thing happened. She was going upstairs to work on fair project, but decided to feed and close up chickens for night. Door closed and string broke. Decided to wait til hubby missed her. After 2 hours, she started picking nails/staples out of hardware cloth window. Finally started climbing out. Couldn't get 2nd leg over. Gritted teeth and finally got it. (70 and heavy ish). Asked hubby if he missed her. Just looked up from book and said thought you were upstairs! Story won 1st prize in Oklahoma Extension Homemakers state convention.
Logo with at least a silhouette of Nugget, Peaches, and a chicken interacting with the logo. You can rotate others through and move them around on a seasonal basis. Every shirt run will be a limited edition with a different image and folks might collect a few different ones over time.
Brooke, I get up and let the chickens and ducks out. I have to go in a run then open the coop for the ducks. Some how the door to the covered run closed behind me and locked from the outside. No one else was up that early and I didn't have my phone. I was in there a good 10 minutes trying to figure out how I was gonna get out. Finally I realized I had my glasses. I used the ear piece on my glasses to stick through the hardware clothe and unlatch the lock. I figured these things only happened to me lol. I'm so happy to hear I am not the only one ever locked themselves in a coop lol. I'm glad you had MaryCarl to come rescue you. Now I do not got out in the mornings without my phone lol. Big hugs.
Y’all may have to do what Keeping it Dutch did and find someone to walk near your pond area with devining rods. Both men found the same spot. It actually is a sweet well with a tremendous water flow rate.
Logo should have something like. Proud to be part of the Cog Hill squad. On the shirt. Perhaps Nugget and peaches in the tractor with Scott (with full feathers) on the roof of tractor towing the trailer with the Family riding in the trailer.
I LOVE that ya'll need to order MORE hats!! Wooooohoooo! That pond dream is getting closer and closer! I didn't realize that ya'll would sign the hats.....well.....guess I'm going to have to order MORE hats when you are stocked back up.😁
I would just like to say thank you for your podcasts they are very entertaining and informative Inever miss them thank you again you have brought the human touch you are honest and genuine family
I usually drive when my husband and I go somewhere. I think you are wonderful Jason!! Thank you Brook for understanding. I have similar anixety. My husband is understanding as well.
I totally get the anxiety situation. My husband is a Gulf War Veteran with PTSD. He and I both struggle with anxiety but in totally different ways. He struggles with eating out and being in unpredictable public places - I struggle with being out in busy public places for long(er) period of times. We both help each other out - one of us is strong when the other isn't. All of us are so lucky to have spouses who understand each other.
On the front: Cog hill logo
On the back: Have footprints from all the animals with the names underneath. Like a signed team jersey.
Omg I'd buy it
We did these in high school. Cute idea!
Love it good idea
Awesome idea!!! ~Sharon
Awesome idea!! I want at least one!!!
T-shirt idea: THE COG SQUAD with a group drawing of all the main characters: Mr & Mrs CHF, Chicken Master MC, Farm Boss Peaches, Sheriff Nugget, Pretty Boy Scott, Big Tom Turkey, OG Tip, Barn Cat Pink, Farm Pup Arlo…and maybe an homage to Penny (RIP).
I like this idea :)
I like this suggestion.
Yes the Whole Crew.. Love it. LOVES AND BIG HUGS TO ALL.
An j.p u can't forget j.p an ac/DC lol
Cute shirt... Nugget, Tom and Scott...."The Three "Emu-goes"
I was going to say nugget buy that is a cool idea!!!
If you don’t change the slope of the land you won’t have to
do as much concrete engineering.
I love this!!!
Nugget and peaches on shirts would be cute
My egg stand is “leave what you can and if you can’t pay it forward” and that’s the way it will continue to be when I add my honey and produce.
A picture of your new truck with flowers and Cog Hill Farm on it! Double thumbs up on this podcast!!
For a Christmas t-shirt, you could feature Nugget in a Santa hat. Love your channel.
For Christmas use yourFarm Truck with your logo on the door and a Christmas tree in the back!
Do the above but with nugget, peaches and a Christmas tree in the back. 🐖🦖🎄
Great way to do business and save time!
Don't forget SCOTT! His "showing" would make a gorgeous shirt!
Oh my goodness when you all got to the part of the show telling us about the community which you are becoming a part of and those roadside stands which operate on an honor system. Was in many ways was just mind blowing for me. It's really almost unimaginable that these types of communities still exist. I would love to see some women's V neck Tee shirts. Your pod casts are so charming I love watching them. Bless you all.🙏🙏🙏
Jason, you are not the only one who deals with anxiety and don't remember names. I struggle with it terribly. I do my best to avoid it all, but it doesn't always happen. May God Bless you! Say hi to Brooke and MaryCarl! 😊
I look forward to seeing y'all every week! ❤️🌞
Mr. Jason..We are Hawaiian and known as touchy, feelie kind of people. It was funny that at the 15-20 minute mark,we almost said it at the same time"I wish I could hug him!" You are an amazing person!
A cute t-shirt would be COG 40. With Nugget Running.
I love this idea
U r awesome thats a super cute idea I can't help it idc what these cog hill family ppl do thats including the animals idc ill watch them if they were watering the lawn lol n u kno something would happen the animals would happen by n Jason would talk to them lol
Yes!!! My thoughts EXACTLY 💯

You should have Treehouse Masters to come to the new farm to build a neat treehouse for Mary Carl.
They don't build them for free. Big money needed for that.
Boy that be cool with a treehouse by the pond
WOW !!!!!! You kept your schedule , Peaches is proud if she were selected for another shirt.Never a bad idea to make the boss proud.
Morning from just east of Toronto Ontario Canada. Always enjoy your podcasts
Cog Hill
Yes Jason I have same deal. So proud of you for fessin’ up, you are such a humble man. Glad you are widening out. Thanks for sharing. Glad you have Brooke by ur side!

My husband is super friendly and outgoing, I am quiet and awkward until I know someone.
Your momma seems so kind I’d love to meet her one day
T-Shirt idea- Cog Hill 40 shirt. Have images that rep Nugget, peaches, Big O, chickens, ducks, pigs, etc. better yet. Cog hill 40 logo on front, and a list of all your animal names.
A garden tee shirt. Flowers! Women would love this!
i think it'd be worth considering a big walk-in fridge like the one the Rhodes family has in their basement, for the CogHill40 to keep all the stuff you can't freeze dry.
I didn’t think you needed to keep food in a refrigerator after drying?
@@carolcalf2032 "all the stuff you can't freeze dry"
Love listening and watching you'all! So refreshing to see a God -centered family and so supportive of each other!
When it seems like it's all falling into place TOO easily, that's when you know it's ordained💙
A COG 40 Tee Special Addition. That's a good way to kinda reveal the placement of your home pigs garden pond. Ect. So like a Picture tee. NEW LOGO COG 40
I got 2 shirts. Waiting for the hats to come back in stock.

Dannah Taft..... Thank you! God Bless!
So glad I’m not the only one to get locked in the coop. It was 10 degrees. Thank goodness I caught my son before he left for work.
Whatever you choose, how about a saying that goes "Proud to Be Part of the Cog Hill Family"
Yes, Cog Hill Proud!
I would love to see an image similar to your logo, however this time the silhouette would be of your family, standing in front of Big O surrounded by chickens, geese, nugget, peaches etc... LOVE THE WORDS Farm Fun Family!
Bless you my daughter has social anxiety it’s so hard. Thanks for sharing xxx
I love both of your channels, you're such a relatable family!
It sure is nice to see y'all so happy. It is contagious! Be good as always
God bless y'all, I just love watching y'all! Your family is a blessing to see and hear! Know ya'll are in my prayers daily 💜🙏🌻🌸
Got my T-shirt last week.. You're wearing it, " Turnip the Beet." I love it.. !!
My dad used to be a laborer in California a long time ago and he would bring leftover lumber. He built a storage shed in out back yard mostly our of that wood.
My dad too n California he passed mid Jan it was awful I miss him horribly this Father's day is going to b hard for me but ur comment brought back a sweet memory made me smile 😃so thank u for that
Thanks for the Greenstalk Promo code y'all! I just got one as a birthday/house warming gift for my Sister :)
I would love to see a family portrait of Peaches, Nugget, and Scott barn background. Love you guys, from Baxley, Ga.
I agree this is the way to do it. Have others offer designs. Pre orders with a deadline.
Gosh the time just flies when I listen to your pod cast. Well done!
The new farm truck with your logo on it
Have you thought of a partial basement and a carport off of the basement with a deck above the carport? A basement can be just one room.
CGHILL 40 2021. With little pictures of some of your animals around logo. Love all off your videos 💗💗💗💗
COGHILL, OOPS.
Good morning! Hope you have a nice day!!! You've started mine out quite nicely!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this post. You guys are entertaining and informative. It’s almost like just hangin out with you.
Jason, I suffer from PTSD and cannot be in large crowds. I am great one one or in a small group of 5 to 10. So, I feel ya and understand. I go to the stores as soon as they open because I don't do crowds.
Hello great video. How about camping on the 40 with the camper on it with the farm animals on it. With nugget and peaches and steve.
Having a basement is actually a smart idea. I would def try to get that in the house. It would be worth it
We need a Cog Hill Nugget shirt and hat. Thank you for all you give us, it is my time to sit and relax with you and you farm family. God bless all of you.
I would love to see one with Peaches trying to keep Nugget out the house😁
Something that Mary Carl would want to draw or paint would be a good tee shirt option!
You could form parallel diagonal lines on the front and back of the shirt - "footprints" of Peaches and Nugget, side by side, wrapping around a person.
I think a Cog Hill Farm pocket logo on the front with Nugget on the back would be cool! My hunny loves his pocket tees!

T-shirt idea---Owl on Cog-40. Have you looked at Justin Rhodes' house built over a barn? It looks like it is on the side of a hill.
I love The Cog Squad with Boss Peaches, Sheriff Nugget, Alarm System, and all the animals. With animal tracks around the logo.
A pic of your farm would be nice, your moving to the 40, it will give everyone a memory of your farm, it’s beautiful!!!!
You’re a very honest people!
Nugget with Cog Hill like the chicken shirt Mrs. CH has on. My anxiety is the opposite of Jason’s. OK with one on one, anxious in a crowd. When invited to a party I always hoped the people would have a pet & if they did I made a beeline for it!
This is how my daughter is.
I would love a group logo on a 2 XL ladies tank!
I absolutely understand the social anxiety! I can message on messages all day long. One on one or a situation where I may get attention brought to me are extremely hard.
Coghill 40 logo on the back, and nugget and/or peaches on the front! Love you guys! Keep up the good work!
Do a smaller basement than the house footage. Just large enough for a storm shelter, utilities and maybe root cellar.
My mother has a. 70 year old friend that had same thing happened. She was going upstairs to work on fair project, but decided to feed and close up chickens for night. Door closed and string broke. The Cog Hill family just cracks me up, your all so funny. I'm so glad that I found your UA-cam channel as I look forward to your podcast and vlogs.
I thought you had a cockatiel! We have one as well. Her name is Tsuki (suki). It is Japanese for moon. Glad to get the answer to my question, thanks.
Yeah. I went to get a hat and you were out of the small ones. I'm glad for you they are so popular! Msybe next time I'll be able to get one or two.
SimpleLifeReclaimed did the same when they were getting their well put in on their new Arkansas property.
You really do have each other’s back - wonderful couple
Logo should have something like. Proud to be part of the Cog Hill squad. On the shirt.
Perhaps Nugget and peaches in the tractor with Scott (with full feathers) on the roof of tractor towing the trailer with the Family riding in the trailer.
I LOVE that ya'll need to order MORE hats!! Wooooohoooo! That pond dream is getting closer and closer!
I didn't realize that ya'll would sign the hats.....well.....guess I'm going to have to order MORE hats when you are stocked back up.😁
OMG! Big Bob Gibson's is Historic - Chris Lilly is one of my long time friends! So glad you got to there!
I think you should have one of the shirts with Nugget looking in a window like he did that one time to you and MC in the brooder.
I would just like to say thank you for your podcasts they are very entertaining and informative Inever miss them thank you again you have brought the human touch you are honest and genuine family
I’d love a family picture on the shirt
Nugget/cog hill combo.. I'm a graphic designer and I can picture a good design in my head.
Use Dowsing rods to find spring. It really does work. All you need is a few feet of #12 copper electric wire.
My husband suffers from drive-thru anxiety too!He thought he was alone.Thank you for a great podcast! We Love ya'll!🙂
I love the way you open up about your anxiety issues. More people than you may realize deal with this.
BROOKE, that light purple hat looks AWESOME on you! I usually don't care for purple but I really like that shade on that hat. 😊💗
We used Him to do our mother and law’s septic system and he was awesome!! I was amazed he was able to do in same day! I highly recommend him!!
