- Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Blue Beet [ブルービート] from Jukou B-Fighter [重甲ビーファイター]!
While this might not be the first Figuart Metal Hero to be released, it's the first one I'm reviewing. I have Gavan, Sharivan, and Shaider on stand by...but something told me to wait until Blue Beet to begin my reviews of Metal Hero Figuarts.
SHFiguarts Blue Beet comes with his Stinger Blade, Stinger Drill attachment, two screens for the Stinger Weapon, Input Magnum, and several hands. In the accessories department, it comes with plenty...but is missing a few things. I'll get to that later.
This was the Metal Hero Figuart that I wanted to start on because I knew how great it was going to be. The prototype photos look great, but in person this figure is amazing. The detail, the likeness...it's all perfect. I could end this review now with "Figuart of the year, buy this now", and it would be true, but there is a bit more to say.
While this may be perfect as a figure, there is some stuff missing. His Pulsaber and Saber Magnum would be nice...but fret not! The upcoming G-Stag and Reddle Figuarts set will come with all three Pulsabers and Saber Magnums. It would have been nice to have these with Blue Beet proper, but I'm guessing they just wanted to add a little incentive to purchasing the expensive 2-Figuart Set (don't worry, I ordered mine). It also would have been nice to have a little B Commander, since they used them to summon their Beet Machines. Since one missing thing is resolved and the other is minor...I'd say that this Figuart is as complete as they get.
I know I hand out ringing endorsements often when it comes to recent Figuarts, but Bandai has been absolutely crushing it recently. I challenge Bandai to top Blue Beet this year. This figure came out in January and already has me calling it Figuart of the year. If they can top this somehow, I would love to see what they come up with. That said, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the B-Fighters and Juspion in May as well as the rest of the Metal Hero Figuarts that they previewed. Who knows, maybe we'll even get Super Blue Beet?
tl;dr Definitely a Figuart that shouldn't be missed. It truly is worth tracking down if you missed it the first time around!

I'm trying to get to it...but kinda waiting on Bandai. I have the Gavan Figuarts, but they previewed a Renewal version of Gavan. I'm not sure if I want to go ahead and review the old Gavan or wait for this potential new version.
I'm not even sure why they are redoing Gavan in the first place. There is nothing wrong with the original one. :-/ Same with Shadowmoon. I'm not bothering to get the renewal since the original was good enough the first time.

What is the height of the figure? Does the figure scale well with the modern SHFiguArts Shinkoccho Seiho? Thank you
I want bandai to release all the B-Fighter Kabuto characters in Figuarts form. I'd definitely buy. Full ryuki Figuarts and B-Fighter Figuarts collection are my toy goals.
Give them time. They'll probably get to Kabuto someday if the sales are strong enough.
Despite having odd feet (which can't be helped, due to design), it certainly looks like an impressive figure. Though it was clever of Bandai not to include the Pulsabers or Saber Magnum with this guy, but include an extra pair with Reddle and G-Stag, and by that I mean down right greedy. Sorry but Bandai should lose points for doing that. Hopefully they'll get things right if they get around to do a Super Blue Beet figurart and chances are that it should look as good as this one, though mind you all that is needed is a few extra parts and his Beet Ingram weapon, which could be sold as some kind of accessory pack. Maybe they'll add a B-Commander with that too?
Honestly the missing Pulsaber and Saber Magnum aren't that big of a deal. It was the weakest of the B-Fighter weapons and they didn't get them until the series went on for a bit.
***** Still as you said, it could have been nice to include them, rather then add them to a 2 pack, of which begs the question, why? Why release G-Stag and Reddle as 2-pack to begin with? Surely it would have made more sense to sell them separately? The design of this toy is spot on, but the distribution of it is falling flat on this face and Bandai need to get their act together on this.
David315842 They've done plenty of 2-packs in the past. Hurricaneger, Boukenger, etc. I actually like the idea since I only have to pay shipping once and the remaining figures come out on the same day rather than having to wait another two months for Reddle.
I was really hoping Spielban would've been a 2-pack with Diana. Who knows...theres still time. It hasn't even been announced yet, just Spielban previewed.
***** Well that's true that you only have to pay one shipping fee and one guaranteed customs charge when the oversized box arrives . I'm just thinking of people who may have trouble buying figures which are more then $30-40, plus as you say in the States S+H.

Totally. I'm surprised it didn't get a US release honestly. There seems to be a pretty strong fanbase.

I recommend making this dream a reality.
hopefully we'll get his powered up form too
