Good video. I use a packing list in a spreadsheet which I keep on my phone. In that list is all the gear I need for all the activities that I do I.e.Summer day walk, Winter Bothy Trip, bike packing trip etc. I can filter the list by activity to see all the gear I need for each trip. I always waterproof everything - you just never know! The other thing to do is to regularly review what you carry. Thanks for sharing.
@@Cycling366 haha, I hope to enjoy, I cannot choose the gravel bike now for almost two years, struggling with the correct bike size for me, as it's my first drop handlebars bike :) but one day definitely I will enjoy:)
Thanks for a great video. Do you book the train tickets before you go ? Early booking seems to make price better but then have little flexibility? Trains are crazy prices !
Thanks Matt! Yes I always pre book and stick to a schedule with wiggle room so I can ensure I’ll get the train back on time! I actually did a whole video about booking bikes on trains here: How to book your bike on a train | Bikepacking Q&A Ep:3 ua-cam.com/video/Pr9uPMEd2Ho/v-deo.html
Thanks for the video, I've picked up a few tips as it's been a while since I bike packed!! My preferred choice is also map my ride/walk, but do you know if you export the route from desktop to phone, does the phone app work like a GPX giving you directions or is it just like a highlighted map you need to keep an eye on? TIA 🙂
Bikepacking a superior mode of travel. Wonderful combination of movement, slow travel, camping, nature and much more. Love it.
Thanks Valentin! That’s a great way to express the joys of bikepacking. All the best
What a lovely bloke! And really interesting to learn what Jonny Bairstow does to keep himself fit.
😂 I’ll take that
Thanks for this, your videos are really good quality. In particular the Map My Ride tutorial was awesome!

Thanks for watching! As far as I’m aware it does! I’ve not actually used it properly as I always use my Garmin but it’s an option for sure
