I have just as much, if not more pride in this institution than I did when I walked across the stage almost 4 years ago. This place truly is unique and I wouldn't have traded my Berea experience for anything. No matter where I live, and no matter what institutions of higher education I attend post-Berea, it will always, always have my heart. Berea, Berea Beloved indeed.
My son is attending Berea this year and we are all so thankful. This school, unlike all the state schools located in my state, has been proactive in everything he needs. This school cares about my son and you can't say that for all higher ec ducational institutions. They are not in "business" like most colleges, I wish they were a bigger school so more students would get the chance to attend. Thanks Berea for seeing that a disabled person got a fair shake.
My name is Wasilah. It would be such an honor to study at Berea College and that is my dream. I want it more than anything in life. I do not feel at a disadvantage being a Muslim and a Nigerian as I felt before. After all, God hath made of one blood all people of the earth. I look forward to learning, growing, working, helping, aspiring and achieving at Berea College..
I have a 4.07 weighted and 3.9 in Unweighed GPA and a 29 act, 550+hours in community service and have been president of a couple clubs. Also work on average 25h weekly. I’m looking at colleges now since I’m a senior and am impressed with the racial diversity considering the high rankings and scores!
MR.X. As i have an overt interest in Berea College. I did a lot of research. The weather in Kentucky is very fickle, with frequent rains and the snow falls quite hard too. Don't be discouraged though as the weather lifts as easily as it breaks. Personally the idea of great weather with lots of rainbows and sunshine bores me to death.
i've spent 4 hour collecting informations about berea and all i can say is "wow,i think i like it" im a international student from indonesia and currently searching for an affordable university in america but i know my parents couldn't pay that much for univesity.US is always my dream country,but dollars is too expensive for me.i got 1 more year to figure out how to go to berea.im a lazy person and i guess i have throw it as far as i could because i have to work hard for something big.i pray to God everynight just asking him if he could give me some streght to face indonesia's education (tough one).im in grade 11 and my seniors already got accepted by many university here.From now on i will be studying as hard as i could,pray as sincere as i could and let Father do the rest.i wont force Him to put me in this college because i know His plans are the best plans for me and i believe for everyone too.Just want to share my feelings.Jesus Bless You

Let me provide a little information. Berea College's entrance requirements are here: www.berea.edu/admissions/visit-berea-college/bereas-academic-requirements/ When considering a potential student, the college considers not only GPA's, but ACT and SAT scores, interviews, and admission essays. Economic need is also a requirement. Students from wealthy or even middle-class famlies generally do not attend Berea, as a main part of its mission is to serve the underserved of Appalachia. It does not usually snow a lot, but it did last winter. Berea does get a lot of ice though. Temperatures are cold in the winter, but not as bad as the Northeast. While Christianity was an important part of the college's founding and identity, it is not a fundamentalist Christian college, and goes out of its way to be inclusive. Being Christian is not a requirement for attendance. The last baccalaureate included a Bahai prayer, a Christian prayer, a Jewish prayer, and a Muslim prayer, all led by students. Berea is respectful of all faith paths including atheism. We have a good share of international students, and plenty of older "non-traditional students." In addition to having many Appalachian students, we have students from every state. Black and white interracial education was and remains a founding principle of the college, and its motto "God has made of one blood all people of the earth" is one every Berean takes seriously. Hello, I'm from Philippines and I'm a 12th grader this year. I'll be graduating next year so I want to prepare my college. I really want to study abroad for two reasons. I've always wanted a college lifestyle like this for one, and two, educations abroads are way better. I'm willing to work though. And trust me I LOVE studying. If there's any chance I really want to apply for this but I don't know how. Unfortunately, my parents couldn't afford to send me to a Uni. And then I saw that you are offering a scholarship covering full tuition, etc. Please help me out.

@cilantroification Virginia. I just graduated from Berea. If you're saying there are a lot of Christian fundamentalists in the community, I might agree with you. There are hardly any Christian fundamentalists at the college. What part of the north are you from?
