Hey at least in Mario Kart 8, lakitu does credit you. Like, “don’t feel sad man, you tried your best.” All the other ones pretty much call you a loser.
I prefer the older games where they punished you for failing, in MKT there’s no fail music, nor a fail animation. When I first saw the losing certificate in DS I was frozen, scared and upset.

I like it better in wii because they don't mock you with clown/upbeat music, act crewl to the player saying things like "Great job, now try for a trophy" or a "Good job" from lakitu and certainly not killing them, that's for sure. This is supposed to be sad. In wii, ou're on a hill with your kart/bike, The music plays, it shows the racers placements while the sign above says "Better luck next time". I don't want to be treated like a baby or get killed for losing. I've seen that game over screen for a while back when I played Mario Kart wii. I have to say that I appreciate it now.
