iPhone 6S 3 Years Later Full Experience and update on how this phone holds up right before it turns 3. The iPhone trio will be taking my time so I thought we drop this video a month early. Share your thoughts, questions, comments, concerns, and enjoy the content :)
Man-Spider it’s really not a difference I have a 8plus and battery life last longer it seems so you could use headphones longer if you watch the video it’s not that great
Side note. I'm experiencing frequent hags where Its unresponsive. Probably iOS 11 bugs. After a few seconds it just starts working and if I was touching something or pressing buttons they start to register.
Nick Ackerman Its pretty random at about 3 or so times daily. It just freezes. Starts working shortly after. My battery health is at 85% and I don't have shutdowns so idk.
KingSam I agree. I still have the 6s and it freezes for like a second or two when im in settings Or fewtimes here and there the screen wouldn't rotate when i want it to.
Fun fact: those "ugly" antenna lines everyone hates, are one of my favorite things about the iphone 6/6s. It's my favorite looking phone, plus the iphone x
I have a 6s Plus and really, I don’t see why I should upgrade, it runs smooth and I play a lot of games, also it’s still better than 90% of all android on the market right now
My 6s plus is still going strong. I did run into some performance issues, but i just replaced the battery and Bam! Like new, still snappy, still smooth, ready for IOS 12.
Jesse Maslany Water protection, 4k60 for iPhone 8 and above, more powerful CPU, and the ability to use your phone as a credit card of a bank, and to use public transportation card in Shanghai and Beijing. You just put the iPhone 7 or 8 or X above the card reader, works very well for me.
Thanks for your review Nick. Keep it up. 👍👍👍 Watching on my iphone 6s📱 👏👏👏 Same as you like it because it is pocketable and easy to use one hand. 😍😍😍📱📱📱
I love the 6s so much. I think it’s the best modern phone ever especially since it has a headphone jack & still very fast as it was back in 2015. Nice video
My wife has had a 6S since 2015. It was one that was manufactured with a bad battery but we sent it back to Apple for a free replacement less than a year ago and it easily lasts a day with light use. Still a great performer and we see no need to upgrade anytime soon!
I’ve had my 6s plus nearly 3yrs now never let me down. I got the battery replaced yesterday on the £25 Apple replacement scheme and new screen last week. This phone has my love once again. I’ll wait till Christmas to upgrade now so ye still happy.
I got the iPhone 6S for my birthday last summer and one of the reasons I wanted this model was because it still has the classic headphone jack that Apple decided not to feature on their newer models, which I personally think is ridiculous. Another reason was the 3D touch although that wasn't as important as still having a phone with the headphone jack, it was more of a thing that added to the "wow" factor for me and that I do think comes in handy occasionally for certain apps that feature it. I've never had issues with the 6S, it was an upgrade from my iPhone 5, which had really become slow and laggy by the time my birthday took place so it was definitely a very solid upgrade for me. I'm very happy with my 6S today and although the iPhone X does look gorgeous with its screen covering the entire front of the phone, I am holding out on that one and maybe wait until the price drops or get one when my 6S in the future will no longer be able to support iOS. Great review video! :)
Thanks for this video Nick👌🏻 I was buying iPhone 6s in 2017 & it runs smoother than android phone & no issues with iPhone 6s till date. Nice information Nick🔥
I was looking at your videos about the iPhone 6s about a month ago and bought a used 6s 16gb. The phone is on iOS 11.4.1 and is blazing fast, literally almost no hickups, maybe once or twice in a week. Coming from an Android (I've used the Galaxy S5 for 2 years and Nexus 5X for year and a half until it got stolen :/) I must say that this is a really smoother experience. Coming from the Nexus, the cameras aren't nearly as good, but they are okay and usable. I would fully encourage anyone who wants to get in the iOS ecosystem but don't want to break the budget, to get the iPhone 6s. It's really fast, especially for its age. Love your videos Nick, been a fan since a few years ago. Keep up with the good work. I especially love that you compare older phones for people with smaller budgets. Have a nice day!
ive just invested in and iphone 6 2018 way after its time i know ...but with in 24 hours my phone updated to the latest ios version.....did some you tube research on battery saving techs......the only issue i faced was the sync from my ipone and i pod touch didnt regon my itunes library ....again was watching an educational vid followed the promps now my library now regons both my devices,an im back in action......battery life very simple...switch of apps youre not going to use......one charge can last me up to 4 or 5and a half days in a wk.....key turn off apps that are irrelevent and that you are not going to use....and turn your phone off every night before bed......works a dream for me
I'm sold. Thanks. Getting this phone next week. I'm a first time iPhone buyer. It would have been nice to get the 7 because it's a little heavier, but I'm going to throw a case on it anyways so it's fine. Plus, I get a headphone jack so I'm happy about that.
Watching this on my iphone 6s rosegold., im still happy and contented with my phone. Super smooth. No plans yet to upgrade. I love my iphone 6s rose gold.
I just brought the 6s. My very first iPhone. I love it. I got it from boost mobile. I got the phone, phone plan, screen protector and case for under $180.00.
I used my 6S from March 2016 until August of 2018. It is aging like Elizabeth Hurley and Jennifer Anniston. I’m using an 8 now just because I want to future proof the 6S experience.
It’s nice to see you’re doing a review on this since I have a 6s plus. I’ve had it for over 3 years and it still runs very well. The battery life is at 78% but can still make it all day on a full charge. Love the Touch ID, personally love the older design of it. It’s thin and light like you said. As long as it still runs efficiently I will continue to use it, the only thing I may change with my next phone is downsizing to the regular instead plus size.
Been with 6s since it launched. I have 64GB and just recently started getting low on storage and had the phone replaced due to the issue with 6s's batteries. A few months ago also had another battery replacement because it started draining quite fast and still is. Also the RAM now seems not enough, my phone is sluggish and quite often lags. My display also has shown signs of screen burn on the edges. I still love it but I'm more than ready to upgrade it to the X Plus.
@Nick Ackerman Thank you for making this video. I currently have an iPhone 6. Two days ago, I ordered a new iPhone 6s. Watching this video has reassured my purchase. The only thing I disagree with you about the iPhone 6s is the Home button. I prefer the mechanical button over the iPhone 8's Home button because it feels like you're pressing a real button. There is one accessory that enhances the iPhone 6/6s; The Apple battery case. It compensates for the small built-in battery and improves the sound of the speaker. This video gets a Thumbs Up and I'm saving it to my Favorite's Playlist.
I still have my iPhone 6s rose gold 128 GB. Even though I upgraded to the X, the 6s was my favorite iPhone I’ve ever owned. I really hope they keep it around for long just how there doing with the IPhone 5s. Which is the oldest phone to be supported on later iOS. Basically 6 years in a while. Wow time flies
Hi Nick! I have the 6s 64 gb since October 2015 and I'm quite happy with it, I also thought about swapping for an iPhone 8 plus, but I've never had such a big phone as my hands are quite small (though all the reviews and feedback about this phone are good but as it 's quite expensive) I decided to get a replacement of the battery for 29 euros so I expect to use the 6s for another 2 years. Thank you for all your videos and reviews, I found them very useful :) Cheers!!
I got a 6s from a friend earlier this year. Took it to the apple store to get a new battery as that was the only issue it had. The phone was accidentally broken by one of the employees while it was being worked on, so I got a brand new 6s for free that day, and I love this new phone.
Most of the teachers at my school still use iPhone 4's and iPhone 5's including my gym teacher. One day when we were warming up for running I asked him to hold my 6S Plus and he was just mesmerized of the size of my phone lol.
Great video. I remember thinking when this was first released that the Processor, cameras and metal build Quality on the 6s were big improvements over the 6. Software updates for 5 years is one of Apples key strengths. One thing to note if people thinking of getting a 6s today. The iPhones have no way of taking an SD Card for additional storage for photos, video, offline music etc. From memory when first released there were 16, 64 and 128GB models and I think a 32GB model released a year or two later. I would suggest have a good look at your own storage needs and get one that matches your needs. A great phone. (This and the bigger 6s Plus).
First good video and really informative. There are a lot of my classmates around me using this phone and they hardly complain about it. Not the newest the most advanced device but quite reliable one. And thanks to iOS, iPhones have long life time. Android devices need to be replaced for mostly every 2 years cuz they are getting slower faster than iPhone. Though I was an android supporter for open OS, have to admit that Apple does great job on prolonging their devices’ life and still smooth. Now I’m using iPhone X and it can definitely hold on until 5G phones come. Thanks for making high quality video. Keep it up 😃👏🏼
Jason Zheng as an Android user I totally agree with you. My current phone is about 2 years old now and I've seen notable decrease in speed and smoothness and I'm planning to switch to iPhones
Guys I am a long time iPhone user and purchased a pixel 2 XL to try android. So far android hasn't slowed down. Maybe it will be different another year from now. By the way I enjoy both operating systems. People need to get of this one is better than the other thing they are both fine OS.
i got a pixel 2 xl and iphone 6s plus...love both os and phones...both got their weaknesses but true pixel after using samsung for years ..android on pixel is so smooth and fast
Had my 6s for a couple of years now and it is still going strong. Has been in a case since day 1 and out of the case it still looks like the day I bought it. I work outdoors and have dropped it man times with no damage. Runs well with IOS (11.4) so will wait a bit longer to go to IOS 12. Don’t play games so performance is great for what I use it for. Also have several pair of good head/ear phones so while I know I can get a new phone and still use them with the dongle, I will just keep using the 6s for a while longer.
YESS FINALLY. Just the video I needed! I'm getting a 6s at the end of this month because I'm sick of android and I want a device that will actually last with me more than two years, and i'm not even a heavy user. I'm getting it for 500$, that's the best price I could find where I live. Everyone thinks that's way too much for a phone but I really want to try using an apple product. Should I go for it still? Anyways nice shirt and great video!
Its re me too, my 2016 model Galaxy A5 has become much slower, lags more and I've grown out of the Android OS. This September I'm getting the 6s plus because I want to switch to iPhones but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg yet, probably in the future with the iPhone X design becoming the default in newer models. $500 is not too much so I think you should get it
I have the Iphone 6S and it is a great phone. It is still fast, play heavy games and much more. Only complain i have is that the battery is not really good but thats it.
Great video Nick, I think the iPhone 6S is still a great phone I owned a 6S Plus which I really liked a lot. The phone still runs that latest software so is still a good buy for those who wish to spend a little less ..
Bought second hand from a family member for £120 at two and a half years old. Heard of the battery issues so I booked it in at an Apple store. When I returned to pick up the phone they informed me that they were unable to replace the battery so they were giving me a new phone instead ( retailing in the uk for £449.00 ) whow....I’m a convert, what fantastic customer service. My first iPhone and it won’t be my last. Also most iPhones get software updates as soon as Apple releases them, my galaxy s7 edge had to wait over a year to get the latest android update.
I have an iPhone 6 as I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now and I have never had problems with it at all it’s still the best phone so far for me I recommend it also performance as you say really perfect that’s the best about the 6S

I bought one new in March, 2018, from the Apple Store. This is my first iPhone, and I wanted a headphone Jack. Am very pleased with the 6s.
how much money is it?
Probably getting one as well. But probably a refurbished one for about 300. I'm kinda pissed with Android because it lags to much on my LG g6

Andrew Maliberan
Yep, I was an android user too. And this happens. Hopefully android 9.0 can be better.
Guys I am a long time iPhone user and purchased a pixel 2 XL to try android. So far android hasn't slowed down. Maybe it will be different another year from now.
By the way I enjoy both operating systems.
People need to get of this one is better than the other thing they are both fine OS.

Agree with you about both good OS. Android is something. Pixel uses clean original android. That’s why it really quick
i got a pixel 2 xl and iphone 6s plus...love both os and phones...both got their weaknesses but true pixel after using samsung for years ..android on pixel is so smooth and fast
Ive had a 6S since December and it’s honestly the best $230 I spent. Works like a charm and much better than my iPod Touch 6G it replaced
I recently just bought one new and they are still good
YESS FINALLY.
Its re no that’s too much. T-Mobile has it for $99 via monthly credits. Or you can buy it New for less than $400 online.
$500 is not too much so I think you should get it
@@victoralmonte1694 I don't want to pay monthly. But where can I find it for less that 400$? Can you tell me any website?
@@drewm.2790 yeah that's what i'm thinking. It's not too much if i'm planning to keep using it for at least 4 years..
Also, I found the iphone 6s on amazon for 200$! Is this the final price?!
This one looks really great, unlike my infinix. May I have it? 😍
Watching this on the 6s I bought 2 weeks ago 😎😎😂
Nice still works well!
I’m buying it today 😏
Btw how many hours can you get out of your iphone 6s?
Cutiepie idk maybe 5 but I bought a charging case so it lasts me s whole day daily
Ray M. Ah okay thnx
Watched on my 6S (Dec. 2015), currently running on iOS 10.3.3.
The iPhone 6s is a perfect phone till this year if I was not as fortunate as I am I would be lucky to have that phone!
Early! On my iPhone 6s
I had mine for so long but finally traded it in for a g7, will always love that phone though
Nick nice video and nice white beackground !
Thank you very much :)
I have the Iphone 6S and it is a great phone. It is still fast, play heavy games and much more. Only complain i have is that the battery is not really good but thats it.
Still rocking the iphone 6s as my daily driver
Nick you my friend just out done yourself again. But can you do the iPhone se next please.Thx u, much love brother
Thanks man! Appreciate that, no se though covered that already
Great video Nick, I think the iPhone 6S is still a great phone I owned a 6S Plus which I really liked a lot. The phone still runs that latest software so is still a good buy for those who wish to spend a little less ..
Fab vid. Watching on the 6+.
Great phone but the 6S kills it in terms of performance.
Am still using 6s plus. Will upgrade probably 2 yrs from now
Bought second hand from a family member for £120 at two and a half years old.
The 6s is a beast still the a9 and 2 gb hauls man hell my reg 6 still does good
Still rocking iPhone 6s Plus. ❤️
I actually still have an iPhone 6 Plus and it works perfectly fine.
Rocking iphone 6s 16 Gb , running perfect.
I have an iPhone 6 as I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now and I have never had problems with it at all it’s still the best phone so far for me I recommend it also performance as you say really perfect that’s the best about the 6S
My 6s bent on a drop a few weeks ago, without a case, after being dropped around ten times in its lifespan. I gotta admit it holds up pretty well
iPhone 8 Plus right here upgraded from the IPhone 6s and damn best decision I ever made
Watching on 6S plus. Still a good phone💙📱
The best iPhone ever created. I’ve been on a max for less than a week and I wish I had my Plus back
