as a native Irish speaker, this is one of the few renditions of "an cuilfhionn" to which I could actually sing the words to! Many (if not most) Irish musicians could learn from you! Mo cheol tu!
I keep coming back to this set. You are one of the most gifted Tin Whistle players I have ever heard. On the same level as my alltime hero, Mary Bergin. Hats off my friend! I wish I had your skill!
@hatao I m living in tokyo. i ve been searching for some other music instrument since i broke my finger. well, i ve played classic guitar since i was young, but can not play as same as before. and at a result, i happened to find your video, it is enough to inspire me to try a tin whistle. thanks for your reply. Tin whistle sometimes sounds like my hometown's traditional music as NEPUTA. Thanks a lot !
@hatao Thanks for your reply, that s just my hometown, i m missing the march. I will check your blog and looking forward to seeing you at your music concert, thanks again!
I keep coming back to this one. Such talant!!! As an average tin whistle player myself, I see how good this actually is. Keep it up! Would love to play in a session with you some day!
@muneiwa209 Sorry to hear you broke your finger, is that alright now?Well ,Tin whistle is an ideal choice as it's facility in playing, and also it's easy to carry than the guitar! I've been Tsugaru last summer and impressed very much by watching the strong traditional culture there. There is a annual religious event called "Oyama Sankei".There is no professional players but they are very serious , and good musicians.
Amazing! just one question, I can see you're using a Shure SM57 for recording, do you think this mic is better than a condenser for tin whistle recording? great videos, great performances!
You'd be surprised how similar Irish music is to japanese, at least in terms of wind instruments. The celtic pan pipes (look up 'celtic pan pipes-ride on'), the ocarina ('down by the salley gardens') and the shakuhachi both have a melodrammatic elegance to them, both feel like they come from the earth. I've seen compositions with shamisens accompanying banjoes (look up 'the swallow tail polka' on youtube). Sorry about your finger. I busted mine, bruised it on the joint. My hand was useless.

Magnificent. Thank you so much. Brought tears to an Irish man's eyes.
Amazing! I haven t known such a gifted tin whistle player was in japan. I wish he would stay healthy and play longer to enjoy us. 素晴らしい演奏をありがとうございます。
This is so beautiful . My dad used to play it here in Ireland on the violin when I was a small girl . Wonderfull memories , Thanks .
Circular breathing... playing two whistles at once... Well, for another thing... Man, you're just too good at this stuff!
One word - FANTASTIC
Absolutely Brilliant - Mick Conlan Kildare Ireland - 91 years old ☘️☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

普通に演奏に循環呼吸を取り込まれていますね…本当にhataoさんの演奏には驚くばかりです…。

What key is this played in?
What's neputa?
Hey, doesn't Japan actually celebrate St. Paddy/Patrick's day?
Hello Hatao, how can I get in touch with you?
信じられない
The circular breathing eliminates the proper phrasing of the tune.Intresting to see it done with Irish music
