The spatula is brilliant! It was all tight, being never taken apart, but the spatula loosened it up from the inside frame, all around to about 3/4 way down (no taking stickers or screws out!), and allowed me to get a credit card in from the outer edge, and gently pry the black frame off (snaps a lot). The white camera plug was indeed slightly pulled down, so I eased it into its socket with my finger and the web cam now works. Thanks!!!!!
How do I know what the right screen is to replace the broken one with? Will going by the model number alone be good? I have dv6 1362nr and see a laptop screen sold by HP on Amazon for that model. Would it work? Or do I need to look up more information?
thank! but I need to change the inverter but it must be desoldering? It is the small black strip below the screen as seen 4:16? (Sorry for my English, I'm French)
Hey I was wondering if you could help, my lap top flashed white than half of the screen now has lines and is pink, do I need to replace the screen or is there a loose cable I need to fix?
Hey Lonnie Great video Brotha, well my co-worker kid dropped the lap top as well and pretty much the screen was black blank screen, the HDMI and extra VGA adapter that was on the laptop does work and lap top does work properly so i just replaced the screen as instructed in your great video but still have no screen, you think something else is broken> Thanks in advance

Great video, thanks, this helps a lot! I don't know about you, but mine (computer) only dropped from about 18", and then my screen looked exactly like yours! I thought they did 'drop tests' on these babies? Oh well, I have a feeling your "camera-helper" was the daughter who dropped the computer?? LOL As a parent, I understand:-)
Bettina Stepek Yes, you are right! On a positive note, screencountry gave me $25 for this video because they didn't have one, so that plus AdSense helped offset the cost. Might have actually paid for it by now.

The only thing is do not take the film off the new screen until after you installed it, this will help protect it while installing it.
