Best channel for piano and organ lessons. Why? It's the only channel I found yet, which not only shows the fingers on the manuals, but also sheet music. And the platform which eventually taught me the right groove of Green Onions. Thank you.
just lately got to played completely, after some coordination work necessary , because I only play bass with my feet, so It's a great song, thank you for your presentation.😃👌👍
Thank you. I'm just a newbie to keyboards, and you present this in a very straight forward manner. I Like your style. I'll, for sure, check out your other videos.
This is actually my ring tone. Its always been a favourite of mine too since I heard when it hit the top 10 in the pop charts in December '79. (Got to No.7). But since i got a pa600 arranger 2 years ago, this often came to my mind.. so, today i looked up a tutorial and yours was the first..... your 'organ sound is exactly the same as the Jimmy Organ on mine😉). Great tutorial, subbed btw.
brava! watching Booker T playing (@ NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert) he does not play the C on the left hand on the 1st riff, only 3 notes: F Ab Bb. Take a look
In bar 13 where you designated E♭ your notation has a C minor chord in the right hand over an E♭ bass. All I can do with that is play it with an E♭ chord and then play it again with a C minor chord and decide which one sounds better.
Why is this song in F? It’s so much easier to just play it in D dorian. Did the guitar need a 7th or something? I’m of middling skill (still learning keyboard) and want to play this as a cover but it constantly trips my fingers up for such a simple progression. Nice video though, really appreciate the explanations/chord breakdown at the beginning.
@@OnlineRockLessons I literally got started this week and am feeling better about it after two days of practice. I´d wager in a month I´ll have it down to the actual rythm. Thanks a bunch for this tutorial, it´s gonna be all I practice for my first month.
Welldone, but it’s seems that your C3 chorus mode is « on ».More than that, the first recording of the song in studio was with a « strait « sound without Leslie cabinet,so i always play the beginning of the song with a stopped Leslie. On the intro, the drawbar setting is 880800000.Just try it once ,it is more realistic from my point of view. Concerning the bass line ,the C note is on the first 1/8 time on the bar,in the same time with the guitar chord. Shall we ask to Booker.T,i will be curious about the answer ! What do you think about all those details (In French,we always say that the Devil is hiding in details!)
Hey, he plays exactly what she has written on the original recording. In your link, he simply changes things a bit (to be honest, he looks rather lazy and/or bored).
This looks good, but you move through it waaay to fast! I can't follow it at this speed. You demonstrate a riff, but before I get a chance to repeat it on my keyboard, you've already moved to the next part.
There are apps that enable you to download UA-cam videos onto your computer so you can play it back as many times as you want; pause it, rewind, slow speed, etc.
Il n’y a pas que les anglophones qui suivent ta chaîne ! Tu parles trop vite en anglais. Reste simple dans ta langue natale : seulement sujet verbe complément. Merci pour le pauvre français qui a beaucoup de mal avec ton accent 😂.

Thank you!! I’m glad :)
Totally agree.
Great tutorial! Really pedagogical and professional. Thanks!
Cool tutorial - awesome! Thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you! I have wanted to find this music for a long time. I worked out some of it by ear, but appreciate seeing the printed music.
The benchmark piano platform❤
Aw, man! Love this tune. Getting back into keyboards after a phew, 40 year layoff.
Be great to tackle this. Great channel.
Thank you!! :)
Oh Marina, thank you. I love this tune it raises so many good memories and your tutorial is fantastic. Thanks again
Glad you like it!

Haha amazing! And thank you!!
Amazing! Thanks :)
This riff has the highest ratio of coolness to number of notes in music history. (Trust me. I checked.)
Haha I love that 👌☺️

I love my XK5! Just hooked up my Leslie CU1 switch. Can't wait for the lower manual. Just need the monies😂
Haha it’s great!! :)

I love this song! Awesome tutorial thank you so much!
My pleasure!!
nice tutorial and nice organs there
Thanks!!
One of the first singles I put on my 1957 Seeburg once I had it operating, great! Next, my friend Steve gave me his CV out of his back bedroom.

Great video! Try bypassing the Leslie; it's more similar to original without the effect. Thank you for this!😎
The written music is wrong on the on the V chord section. You have C instead of Bb.

Thank you! :)
You're welcome!
C octave before you hit the first F in the bassline Marie, really important it's there. Try it out ;)

I agree it’s not easy at first to move around the chords!

am I spotting a BC in the background?
BC?

Definitely! And I’m using the IK multimedia plugin that might not be matching the keyboard :)
Google 'mods and rockers', here we have a classic track any ageing Mod would like to learn to play!
👍🏾
😮
The figure is wrong actually. It's not a full Ab chord.
Nice lesson, but Booker plays the bass line different. See here: ua-cam.com/video/nVAFjvRBswY/v-deo.html

That’s why you can use the slow down option on UA-cam! :)

Cut to 1:35. That's what we want to see.
