There are a couple of things that I want to say here. First, I can’t imagine the difficulties and challenges that you face with your illness and I appreciate you sharing with your viewers a glimpse of that part of yourself. Second, I have been a practicing green witch for over almost 35 years, and just want to say, that I love to see the younger generation’s fresh new take on the different ways that they practice. You have created for yourself a gentle and beautiful pathway. Third, I really enjoy your videos; absolutely gorgeous, calming, and I can tell you are putting your heart and soul into these videos. Keep it up girl, you are doing fabulous. Blessed Be. ❤️

As a new green witch (I've only been practicing for about six months), I love your comment. Annie is amazing and is one of my prominent influences in pursuing this path. I admire your experience, and, if I may ask, what inspired you to choose the path of the green witch almost 35 years ago? Blessed be!

Seeing another witch with Ehlers-Danlos talking, even a little bit, about the challenges of shared food and dislocations got me emotional. I so rarely see other people who live this way. It's an illness that excels at making you feel isolated, and this made me feel very seen and understood. So much love and support to you 🖤

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you've gotten judged for not being vegan - the idea of it is nice, but it's just not practical for everyone. I personally have greatly reduced the amount of animal products I eat, and certain non-food animal products I buy, but I will never be vegan.

As someone with the goal of being vegan:
I've been working towards it from eating like a normal Texan for like six years. It's a different journey for everyone and anything helps. I hate that so many people in my community take the severity of the issue and run with it. It might be a problem but it's unrealistic to expect anyone to be educated, sustainably healthy, or to go cold turkey when there is so much gatekeeping and shaming within the extreme parts of the community. It flushes out all of the ACTUALLY useful and very immediately actionable info when the UA-cam feed is all Instagram vegans that eat less than 1400 calories a day and extremists that call meat eaters out instead of being kind. 🥺😔

    • @k_a_y_l_e_e

i used to be vegan but sadly had to go back to eating meat (oddly enough, for health reasons lol). it's not my favorite thing, but it is what it is and i always remember to live in gratitude while eating my meals. i never understood the judgment surrounding people's personal diets. the hostility in some communities surrounding the ways and what we eat is so strange.

    • @Red-fg9qr
      @Red-fg9qr 4 роки тому +12

More than being vegan or not, it's how you eat your meals, if it's animal based atleast make sure the animals you're consuming were treated correctly and were killed with the least pain possible. Sure you won't know if a pig was treated correctly because a pig is not kosher, however when it's a cow if it says Kosher then you're making sure the animal was treated correctly.
If you're eating eggs, atleast make sure you're getting them from a local farmer and not mass produced ones.
As you all know, intention matters.
If someone wants to be vegan, great job, I respect it. If someone doesn't want to be vegan, I respect it too. You do you.

    • @TheHermitPriestess69

I have always been curious but raised Baptist and Methodist. I was finding myself in a crisis of ‘faith’ in the mid-‘80s and cried out in my mind “if there really is a God, just give me a sign.” After a while I realized I was getting an answer form the trees around me, “We’ve always been right here.”

SO, Honey, Thank you so much for your beautiful transparency and your lovely offerings on both of your channel's. What you just shared with us was powerful, and you did it without any projection or attachment to the victim archetype. Not a small thing. You are so wise beyond your years. I am a green/hedge/kitchen witch, and an herbalist - both for over 30 years (and in many ways, even since I was a young child). I follow less and less dogma (none, really) as I begin to step into my crone years, but I still love a simple, alive, moment-to-moment practice. It has all become a very creative and present moment way of life. And I love watching your videos! They delight my inner child and inspire me to play. How lovely to connect with so many more sisters. Also, thank you for sharing your experience about your condition. I like how you shared that you still try to share in meals with others despite your condition. I've never heard of it before, but I can vaguely relate as I have a condition that makes my bowels reject a lot of food groups that other people can eat. Sometimes it is hard to share meals with others because there are a lot of things that hurt me and are present in many foods. Hearing your experience put that into perspective for me but also gave me ideas on how I can still enjoy meals with others that I may not be able to eat myself. Thank you! Blessed be!

I am a beekeeper myself and honestly my babies are happy, and I always do what is best for them in terms of harvesting, or not harvesting, or feeding, and if you want honey that comes from beekeepers who do the same, just buy honey at like a farmer's market, where you can get it straight from a local beekeeper.

For those who are interested in Herbalism, I work as a homework reviewer for Rosemary Gladstar. Her books are amazing and she has a beginner book out that would be a good place to start. Becoming an Herbalist 27 years ago was life-changing for me and also led me to the path of Paganism. You'll be amazed how many of those wild weeds growing in your yard are fantastic medicine. As a former librarian, once libraries are open again, ask them for different plant id books and herbal medicine books and find the ones you like the most. I'm learning a lot about gastroparesis since my daughter's boyfriend has it-- linked to his Type 1 diabetes.

Your videos calm me and make me see that my progress in self-discovery, no matter how small right now, is something worth working towards. Thank you for being here! Love from the Philippines!

I know this video is older but your videos are a kind of “comfort show” for me. I watch them all the time. I recently went though a pretty hard time and I didn’t work for a year... I have a job interview this week. It’s not the big fancy career I was doing before I had to quit working but... it’s a part time job at a retail store to start getting me back around people.
Seeing how awesome you are and how calm you are has helped me more than you know. I’m chaotic and anxious a lot and learning how to stop and breathe through your videos as an inspiration has really helped. At least to us, you make the things you go through seem like learning experiences and just that method of dealing and that way of thinking really is valuable. I’ve identified as a witch for 11 years but I’ve never had the ability to focus and breathe and ground myself.
Idk if you ever feel exhausted from what you do (even though I’m sure you love it) but I wanted to let you know how much you’ve changed my life. I know that sounds corny but I’m serious.
I’m really nervous about this week and being around the world again but I’m being more positive and I’m sure I’ll be okay. Thanks for teaching me how to be better, even if you didn’t know you did.

I love how you manage and stay positive despite the condition.. I suffer from herniated disk and the emotional/mental part was the most difficult. But spiritualism made me see it in a different light and that is what I see in you. I love that you are open with it ❤️❤️

This was a beautiful video, thank you for sharing your Q and A here on youtube. I am a vegan but everything that you said I completely understand and agree with. You are doing what you need to do in your life, which is perfectly fine. Also, you are incredibly lucky your parents and family supported you when they found out you are a witch. I am a secular Zen Buddhist and when my family found out I was ridiculed, bullied and ignored as if I didn't even exist. It was a difficult thing to go through, but I became stronger and learned a lot through all that. It makes me happy to hear other families are more supportive though.

As a vegan I just wanted to say I don’t agree with any negative responses some may have to those who aren’t vegan for personal reasons. Unfortunately, the comment sections can really show off the worst who don’t think of the various situations out there where veganism can’t be practiced. Love your channel! Sending so much love to you 💓

I am crying because you are so young and peaceful and full of life in your videos and the baking video I watched was so pretty and looked yummy (but I can't have all that sugar) and then now I just heard you say you can't eat. I'm sorry isn't the right word because you aren't sad. I don't know how to say it- I feel bummed for you on that one issue, but duh to me because it hasn't stopped you in any way that I have seen in all the videos I've been watching. You are very strong and I know you will inspire so many people who have illnesses as well as inspire people regarding flowers, art, baking... THANK YOU, stay safe, take care. You rock!

I randomly stumbled across this video and first off, you’re so freaking beautiful, I’m literally gay screaming. (Well, in my head, it’s like, 5:30am right now.) Secondly, I haven’t seen any creator so far with EDS, and that totally took me off guard, and I had looked down to peel a sticker off of my laptop and my head snapped right back up as soon as I heard that. I’m currently dealing with a huge health decline due to EDS.
I’m currently diagnosed with type three, but I’m in the process of getting my diagnosis changed due to my heart condition and the fact my stomach has recently decided to hate doing the job of keeping stomach acid… In my stomach… where it belongs. I’ve had three hospitalizations this year already since it causes my esophagus to bleed rapidly and I vomit blood.
It’s taken so much of my life away. I was lucky enough to spend three healthy months with my newborn daughter and she was a year old before I reached a point of being able to be at home for more than two or three weeks before going right back to the hospital for months at a time, and right now, I’ve hit my longest time yet at almost four months at home. My daughter turned three this year and attempting to raise her from a hospital bed is just… It’s hard. It’s hard, but I did it in the end, and now, fingers crossed, I’m on the way up, and not down.
It’s kinda messed me up in a weird way, but for some reason, just hearing someone else is dealing with similar issues, with the same condition, was just… Healing… In a way? I don’t really know how to describe it. I hit subscribe right away, and thank you for sharing that part of you, and I’m sending all of my positive thoughts, feelings, and vibes right your way.

I'm sending you positive thoughts, feelings and vibes. I don't have EDS but know several people IRL and online who do. I do have some other chronic health conditions and as someone said above, it can make you feel isolated. But it's lovely channels like this that can give us a connection with others and share and feel not so alone. Blessed be.

For me it's helpful to know others have bodies that do what mine does.
It's a trapeze walk trying to keep everything going to the point that life can be kinda normal. I did a lot of trial and err back in mostly in the 90's and lived according to what worked to keep quality of life normal. Now my silly habits have snazy labels like paleo, fodmap, whole 30. It's a tight rope to walk and hard, sad decisions along the way.

This video made me very happy. This is because you're one of the few content creators I watch frequently with Jessica Kellegren Fozard also being one and knowing you have ehlers danlos just like me honestly makes me feel so happy. I've always looked up to your lifestyle. To know that you handle somewhat of the same struggles I do just makes me feel more hopeful that one day I'll be able to achieve that type of lifestyle.

Ah! I got surprised by the Skyrim question but in the most positive way possible. If you liked Skyrim (oh and so did I!) you might want to learn about the Witcher 3 game. The Witcher universe started with books (which I highly recommend to read if you can/want). The first 2 witcher games are a little old and clunky but you don't absolutely need to play them before you play Witcher 3. It helps but it's not absolutely necessary. I personally only played Witcher 3 and it was great. You might get a similar peaceful vibe from the environments there too ;)

Ohh thank you for this! I am a relatively new follower of your peaceful, very informative, videos, and have wondered a few of these things myself. Sweetheart I want to tell you I love you for the quiet sweet spirit you are. I am sorry you've got so much to deal with, physically. Glad you've got it all handled beautifully. I've been through one stroke and have a pof in my heart, so I'm on blood thinners forever. I'm just beginning my herbal journey. I feel like it would help a ton with my mental state and keeping busy, to begin making natural remedies. Thank you for this information. Blessing, Shan.
