Thanks so much for watching Coaches!! Quick question, as you coaches know every video I create is for YOU so please comment on this thread and let me know what you would like to see a video about. And also, don’t forget to pick up your FREE Offensive drills if you haven’t yet: bit.ly/FREEdrills

Coach, you can pull your tackle position. You just need to KNP. Know Your *(and your opponents) Personnel.
We play with really athletic tackles and bigger, stronger guards. We feel like we can down block with bigger guards and pass block better vs any more athletic D End better with a more athletic O Tackle. Also you can down block with your play side guard and short trap the C gap with the Center and wrap the backside Tackle.
No matter what the defense does there is at least one player they have left in conflict. You look and see that is.
My rules for any defense goes like this
    1. Identify the front
(Can we get more hats to the point of contact or how do we exploit angles or how do we get our best one on one)
    2. Number and alignment of Safeties.
    3. And this is key for my passing game...who is carrying #3 vertical?
    4 LB depth and width.
    5. Attack Space.
No matter what the defense does, if we can motivate our kids to out work our opponents in the weight room and on the track in the off season, we will field better players. No matter what any opponent schemes against us, we will have better athletes because we develop our players all year round. We have football PE and we spend every other class on the field running full speed routes and working blocking footwork. Even on air, kids learn fundamentals and develop timing and build chemistry. During this time you install your offensive concepts in your pass game and work on the mental aspects of the game.
Every coach knows that everything goes out the window as far as game plans and scheme against better athletes. Since you cannot recruit better players your only option is to make your players the best they can physically and mentally be. Preparing year round makes your kids better athletes, more prepared players, confident individuals and a team that can play fast.
(There are exceptions, those schools blessed enough to have three, four or five star D1 recruits are really tough to beat if they have more than one and if that team works like we do).

Good timing on this video. I’m a 3-4 tite front guy and was FaceTiming with Rhett for about 2 hours talking about strengths and weaknesses against his run/RPO game

Your content is well though out. This channel helps me coach myself up, to increase my tool belt so I will be a wise and effective coach. I have purchased your e-book simplifying the spread offense. Keep up the great work.

You can't attack a 3-4 in 10 personnel with inside zone.
You have to play 11 or 12 personnel and force them to defend an extra gap or you better be really good at blocking in space with your receivers and you have to outside zone. If they are playing 4i you think you can run off tackle but they are scraping making that tough. You can run midline if you can get the Nose off your Center so he can climb. Also tough.
You really have to run outside because they are already trying to spill the play outside.
