well, to answer that we have to know the tragic situation of traditional martial arts in China, modern or contemporary wushu no longer teach application side of the forms, it's usually just for competition or performance use, it's modified in a way rather closer to Chinese stage Opera/dance than traditional martial arts, hand to hand fighting styles/techniques were modified with boxing and reassembled as Sanda to suit modern fighting ring competitions and entertainment needs. The traditional Chinese martial arts styles/systems still preserved some of the application and body/mind strengthening/cultivation techniques, (usually follows a lineage,) but without platform to practice and engage (in real combat), and as the older generation passes, traditional styles are being forced to assimilate and modify to suit competition needs, or gradually being pushed to extinction. Because recent years of internet popularity of certain platforms research in traditional martial arts has become gradually more popular, however 95% of the application published were far from its authentic styles and uses. So to answer your question, this reassembled form in fact does include some/certain iconic applications of traditional styles, or at least are a reflection of its former self, but it purely depend on the Master's teaching/experience to know how to apply them for it to be practical.
