That is a good one! However I would argue that although it was the first Version of what we would consider the classical bicycle layout, it has had many changes in material and design since it’s inception. I would class it as a design trend/concept that has then been replicated through the years. If they were still riding that exact original model in the olympics (and what a sight that would be) I would totally agree with you.
After somehow finding your video on Windscale, I’m gobsmacked at how little views your other videos have! Quality content, well presented, is so rare. Please keep it up! You have probably thought of it but you could do a top ten best designs and top ten worst designs. I’m inclined to agree with you that the endurance of that design of paperclip shows it was as good as any design could get. However I prefer the variant with a square top, triangular shape and slight bevel on the mid-loop.
Surprised at how small this channel is ! The content is of very high quality. Have you tried reaching out to people like wendover or real engineering? You would be a good fit along side them in educational space I'm sure they would welcome you ! May the algorithm be ever in your favour!

One of the best acronyms i have every heard is K.I.S.S ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) and the paper clip is definitely a great example of this engineering and design methodology. Excellent work i love the mix of subjects all rolled into one video, these are the kind of thingss that get people interested and inspired about how the world works. Thank You

eh there is modern versions coming out including ones that no longer involve sending nails into the hooves and instead are glued on there are also many versions for various circumstances the old way is still pretty standard for many applications. But there are now tons of different materials that can be used for more specific purposes like aluminum for racing to reduce weight or rubber to provide better traction and protect road surfaces and even plastic.
a drinking straw. I'm not sure 100%. But I can't imagine how a drinking straw could be improved on. So, surely, it is the same as it was back in the long time ago.
That’s a great shout. However, I live in London and cannot get a drinking straw for love nor money. it's only paper ones that fall to pieces within seconds, or pasta straws that come with their own weird difficulties. We seem to be going backwards in straw design however if saying goodbye to a star means less harm to the environment I’m all for it.

But, true to your (unchanged) inventions. The straw has stood unchanged for 6000 years. So, (maybe) it is qualified again, as an answer.

i think a very unchanged thing is the handgun, for example the 1911 handgun is still quite common today
That's a great example. And as classic piece of design, a 1911 has to be up there.

What about a horse shoe? They have been dated back to 400BC and their design has been essentially the same since the earliest findings of them.
