True. That is what I learnt
We shouldn't jump to conclusions. Often juniors act with arrogance in their superiors name without they even knowing. I've seen registrars being way more arrogant than judges.
Also, DMs are on duty 24/7 so you'll obviously see them in official vehicles as against judges who'll be in official vehicles only on work days (hopefully).
It was a rare case dear...which I bet you will find in administration as well...I have seen the attitude of judges fairly well and I can assure you that people employed in both the services are similar when it comes to use of power...
The man you met had some intrinsic ethical values whereby he was living a simple life..
On that basis, if you conclude that DM's are arrogant and Judges are sincerely humble...you would be committing a mistake....a very serious one...😅😅
Exactly, i have seen so many judges who are so arrogant when it comes to showing off their power specially in courts where they know they will get a lot of views on youtube if they insult and scold IAS and IPS officers and they use such roadside language just for petty administration lapses forgetting that they are senior officers as well and there are many ias and ips officers using their power wisely to genuinely make a difference in the society and ofcourse there are bad ones too like any other field.
When in courts often the scenario is very different and out of court they are like lovely humans @@lifeatinfinity

By the way arrogance is shown by PSO of DM and not DM himself.. The comparison is totally unmatchable...
Drivers and pso's follows arrogance in thier own sigh and not influenced by DM
My father is also Judicial officer and he also shows same gestures whenever we visited in areas like this... The power is given by courts and not by a person that to in some subjects of jurisdiction
Both functions differently and both possesses knowledge and values hence cannot be subjected to comparison

You can conclude anything with just one incident. Some judges are very arrogant. Recently a high court judge summoned railway authorities in court just because he wasn't given VVIP treatment in 1st class AC train & officers didn't visit him to his "ji huzoori" in train.
Yeh baat toh 100% sahi hai kuch judges literally kaafi arrogant hote hain and I'm no one to conclude anything! Jo Laga woh bol diya jaise aapko jo Laga aap ne Comment kar diya but I definitely agree with you

Sabse pahle judge life fully public se cut off ho jata hai unka social life jyada nhi hota....jabki DM ko hamesa yaha vaha public ke beech me deal karna padta hai.... Aur haa dm apna job karta hai aur judge bhi... Dono apne apne protocol ke hisab se kaam karte hai... India me legislative, executive aur judiciary tino ka equal value hai... To kisi ko kam jyada dikhana galat h

You said pad lika huva admi (educates), IAS is also highly qualified people. The only difference is arrogance vs simplicity. Education won't give us simplicity but power gives you arrogance.

@prasannas3844 I further want to recorrect it. I found most of the IAS in their late 50's poorly qualified. Even some are not able to multiply 2 digit integers. I found most of the studies of an IAS that you are saying as highly qualified is just to qualify the exam UPSC. They are hollow from inside. They may be highly literate but not educated. Dealing with Politicians and finding alternatives for every solution also effects there personal behaviour after 10 years of service. Sometimes it makes me laugh, to comment, criticize, analyse, review, remark on Gandhi Ji or any current national even or facts. IAS exam is most like representation of facts and less into customised implementation. Very few can be said to serve the purpose of beaurocracy. I hope, you will understand what I want to say. 😊
