9:45 it's not deploying because there is a maximum allowed amount of energy you can use in a single lap, regardless of you much is in the battery.
Because the lap is so big, you will almost certainly run out by the time you reach the long boi straight
33 seconds. F1 cars get 33 seconds of deployment a lap.
Yeah you basically need no deploy until you get there
@@TheArmosius Which is reasonabke if your lap is 1-2 minutes, like most F1 tracks, but not the 5 minute Green Hell

Battery wouldn't deploy on the straight, and without the battery the car makes too much downforce to accelerate in 8th gear. You would actually slow down upshifting.
Ferrari SF70 was added to Assetto Corsa in 2017 while it was still racing. And Vettel didn't win. Note to F1 teams - do not add active F1 cars in racing games while still!
The car still won its championship tho, the WCC.
@@jorhop4005 Sadly, there’s only a few thousand people that care for the WCC and they’re all partners of, or employed by the Mercedes F1 team.

I felt the vibe so I went balls out on Nurburgring in Beamng, in the old Pessima Hillclimb.. I kid you not if i say it took me about 50 tries to comnplete a lap and get the vid uploaded. Did it thge first time because i saw your old vid doing that some years ago in Beamng. Would be fun to see you have a go again now when so much has changed :)

Looking at those F1 wheels always amaze me. I think I would struggle to keep track of all the settings in an F1 car.
I've driven karts for 25 years and the most you have to focus on there is gear up/down if you're in a gearkart and then the carburator fuel setting. And in rare cases control the amount of air the radiator gets if the engine gets too cold in rainy weather.
You have to remember that when you race, your focus is 101% on that. Dividing your attention to other things is not pleasant.
i'm looking forward to the inevitable 24hr of F1 Nuremburgring + Nordschleife.
i love how ers said "no" going down the last straight but then started draining the battery when you were idling along in 1st gear XD
Limited deployment per lap - regardless of track length/time. i.e there is charge in the battery for the following lap, but F1 regs prevent you from using it on that previous lap if you have already used your allocation :)

Revs too low. Uphill with no deploy 7th is faster.

Probably not enough torque and would have had not the right gearing for it. I would guess is he went with a longer gear ratio and so if he went with 8 on that uphill he would actually be bogging down, losing speed. If it was flat or a downhill, he probably would have been fine but not on that long straight.
@@philipbarton3456 yeah probably only go to 8th if you get the DRS deploy, my guess at least.
@@Nathan0A Exactly, and because there is no DRS detection zone DRS won’t work. Aidan Millard ran into the same issue at Bathurst, the DRS doesn’t work on tracks without DRS detection zones. For now at least, that might change if it gets more updates.

The W11 was quicker would’ve been better, was also probably the fastest F1 car ever and probably will be for some time
The funny thing is that if we ingore the floor changes and some other littel 2021 spec bit, de W12 is exactly the same car as the W11
I'm talking out of my ass, but I reckon two or three years from now they'll be breaking records again.
@@OrdinaryLatvian A major idea behind the new regs was to slow the cars down, so they would be better suited for the tracks that are a bit small for the faster current cars.
If the cars really don't loose the ~5 seconds per lap they were planning on, I can see them trying harder to slow them down.
@@OrdinaryLatvian Look at 2014. Slowest cars in years. In 2016 they were multiple seconds a lap faster already. If 2017 didn’t change it up, then they’d be improved upon even more.
We now have the same regs for the next 6 years I think. If they’re not like 5s a lap slower than 2020, there’s a good chance they’ll beat it again by 2026.

You know, there's an opportunity for sim racing as a whole to have a relatively high profile race series with F1 cars, and on the Nordschleife simply because real F1 can't/won't race there. Probably get sued into glue for trying but hey.

It didn't look like you were getting full throttle, especially down the long straight, I think that's why it wasn't deploying. You can see in the bottom left corner that you were at only about 90% throttle at times.
it had the nub, it was full throttle

@@fullnuclearbreakfast I had to go back and watch it at 1440p, because I couldn't see the nub at 720p. There were a couple times at full throttle when he didn't have the nub, (like 6:55 for a bit, and it blinks out a few times at 7:46 and 8:21). He did have it on the long straight when it wasn't deploying, so that was surely due to hitting the deploy limit for the lap. (noted by Pedro earlier)
It didnt deploy because f1 cars have a limit of how much they can deploy per lap... 33 seconds if im not mistaken

I am pretty sure Lewis would be slower than all 3 guys...as far as I know he doesn't play sims recreationally, and as an F1 driver he probably doesn't have Nordschleife memorized at all.
