Not only is this beautiful, it has scenes for dang near every ship in the fandom, meaning most people will get even just a little bit of something that they like
So in this case, the circus is actually what is called a Lotus-eater machine, happy and appealing outside, but hiding all the darkness the real show is known for. In this alternate show Pomni would gradually realize something might be wrong, while slowly recognizing the others' true selves (For example Jax would start off with bickering insults and maybe-well meaning pranks to eventually turn into the jerkass he actually is). Then it's the typical "try to break the illusion and get everyone out" plotline. Caine can either be the well-intentioned extremist he APPEARS to be, or a genuine villain.
I think in this version he seems more like a genuine villain in the show he's just doing what he was made to do while here he has free will and he seems like a corrupt ringleader
I think this would be such a cool intro for an alternate version of the show because it would focus on the idea of spectacle hiding reality. Like in the show, Pomni immediately freaks out and (even though they try to break it to her gently) the rest of the cast tells her the hard truth. But in this version, the cast would hide the truth for as long as possible. They put on this grand show and put more focus on finding new acts than finding an exit. But in reality, they are slowly losing their minds. I think this would be a really cool way to explore how, just because something looks one way in the outside, doesn’t mean it’s on the same on the inside

I think this is what would make the digital circus actually a tragic/horror comedy like it’s supposed to be. A place where there’s always a crowd to cheer for you. Where you’re always in the spotlight. Where you never have a reason to leave because you are loved and everything is fun. It’s pure euphoria. But behind the show, it’s all fake. The cheers aren’t real. The eyes of the ring leader are always watching. The stress of performing and meeting standards and never being able to rest is what makes Kafmo abstract. A never ending show that distracts you from the fact that you’re in a cage. When your cries of fear are drowned out into the cheers of the audience, delighting in your suffering. it's even said in the lyrics of the song (not intentional, I'm aware, but i still think its good details). "it's only this moment, don't care what comes after", "Impossible comes true (later "watching it come true"), its taking over you (later "intoxicating you")", "just surrender cause your coming and you wanna go where its covered in all the colored lights" ", "it's everything you ever want, everything you ever need... this is where you wanna be". yes, the characters are all actually happy in the circus, but they that's because they're distracted by the colorful lights and adoring cheers. they don't think about the life they lived outside the circus, or whats outside the show, but when they do they don't have a choice but to keep performing. It would add a whole new level of dread to the fact that you can’t leave, because you have an audience to perform for. You have a show to put on. You have a smile to wear and you cannot disappoint. this was so well done, i give my full applause to Lumineary! I would love to see this AU expanded on by them and more people, because its so interesting and beautiful. again, very well done. Keep up the good work!!

I simply love how manipulative Caine is throughout the whole animatic, but Pomni doesn't notice anything - she acts perfectly natural, just like any normal person would do in this kind of a situation. From the initial confusion, to the final endorsement of the show, all of her emotions were carefully DESIGNED by Caine and were a consequence of his machiavellistic tricks. It's both beautiful and terryfying.
I really REALLY like this alternate take on Caine and the Au in general. It’s largely inverted. Caine is more competent and “finished”. But he’s also far more cunning and controlling with apreantly a more intense need to keep his “Greatest Show” going forever. He’s more like Bill Cipher here than Genie from Aladdin. Meanwhile the cast of humans is actually pretty happy and blissfully unaware of what happened to Kaufmo or anyone else that goes “missing”. Caine is likely lying about where they went and what happened to them. It’s more of a first impression Coraline situation.
Seeing all the circus members so happy, not depressed or insane but happy is like a breath of fresh air, and this animatic is incredibly well done! Amazing job! :D
I can actually see this being a pretty good AU. Now I'm interested in what the characters would be like if they were actually interested in being there.
This animatic was unexpected, but it really suits with the song The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman, I'm crying with happiness seeing all our characters happy.
Caine looking at the crowd for their reaction and the (kinda sinsiter) stare he gives when saying "this is where you want to be" He does feel closer to a villain in this AU, very much trying to lure pomni in with the glitz and glamour of "the greatest show"
Seeing a Pomni that is full of joy and wonder is healing my heart! They all look so happy and fulfilled. I know that’s not the point of the actual show, but seeing these characters happy is genuinely heartwarming.
1:29 The timing of "and we crown them THE CIRCUS KINGS!" on Kinger's face getting fired out of a cannon is PEAK! I can almost hear Kinger shouting something like that if he were ever shot out of a cannon in the show, which also just seems like something he'd do in the light, and then after a moment in the dark cannon, he'd have a split second of lucidity and say "Wait, this is dangerous, WHAT AM I DOING-" only for it to be too late.
You know what? I like to think to where in this AU all of them aren't forced, Caine just chose these roles for them and they all loved it, I also love how in this AU everyone's personality is different. 1. Jax isn't an A$$hole prankster. 2. Ragatha seemed to get along with Jax and they both even enjoy their jobs. 3. Gangle isn't being treated like a child. 4. Kinger isn't all that insane as he used to be. 5. Zooble seems to have finally find something that feels good. 6. And Pomni is not even afraid or even wants to find an exit, she actually loves it here, and it really does warm my heart.❤🥺 7. Caine is acting like an actual ringleader who cares about his fellow circus performers, as for the scene with him and Kaufmo as an abstraction, I like to think that he's keeping him a secret from everyone else because he's trying to help him, he's trying to find a cure to get him back to normal so that he can return to the circus. Let me know what you guys think.

OK, in spite of having contradictory personalities of the characters, I must admit that this animatic won me over, so far one of the best fan made animations I have seen so far, maybe I would even say that of all this year, it is very well done and accomplished.
I loved this so much! I could totally see it as an AU in which the Digital Circus works as it was intended, being a magical place for everyone to go and forget their worries instead of being a constantly glitching prison. (That being said, there was also Kaufmo at the end, but let's just ignore it lol).

I can actually see this being a pretty good AU. Now I'm interested in what the characters would be like if they were actually interested in being there.
This animatic was unexpected, but it really suits with the song The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman, I'm crying with happiness seeing all our characters happy.

He does feel closer to a villain in this AU, very much trying to lure pomni in with the glitz and glamour of "the greatest show"
Also... acrobat Ragatha is adorable.
This made me giggle and kick my feet, it’s wonderful!
Since Digital Circus is like any unique circus, it’s has a greatest show.
Seeing a Pomni that is full of joy and wonder is healing my heart! They all look so happy and fulfilled. I know that’s not the point of the actual show, but seeing these characters happy is genuinely heartwarming.
I can 100% imagine that this was the original vibe of the digital circus with the first batch of players.
1:29 The timing of "and we crown them THE CIRCUS KINGS!" on Kinger's face getting fired out of a cannon is PEAK! I can almost hear Kinger shouting something like that if he were ever shot out of a cannon in the show, which also just seems like something he'd do in the light, and then after a moment in the dark cannon, he'd have a split second of lucidity and say "Wait, this is dangerous, WHAT AM I DOING-" only for it to be too late.
You know what? I like to think to where in this AU all of them aren't forced, Caine just chose these roles for them and they all loved it, I also love how in this AU everyone's personality is different.
1. Jax isn't an A$$hole prankster.
2. Ragatha seemed to get along with Jax and they both even enjoy their jobs.
3. Gangle isn't being treated like a child.
4. Kinger isn't all that insane as he used to be.
5. Zooble seems to have finally find something that feels good.
6. And Pomni is not even afraid or even wants to find an exit, she actually loves it here, and it really does warm my heart.❤🥺
7. Caine is acting like an actual ringleader who cares about his fellow circus performers, as for the scene with him and Kaufmo as an abstraction, I like to think that he's keeping him a secret from everyone else because he's trying to help him, he's trying to find a cure to get him back to normal so that he can return to the circus.

I love that we actually see a good amount of screen time for each character and not just Jax and Ragatha (No hate to both I love ‘em so much but you gotta admit so far they’ve taken up most of the spotlight with Pomni (Also I am aware ep 3 will focus more on Kinger and Zooble) And I LOVE your character designs for them it’s so awesome! ❤
OK, in spite of having contradictory personalities of the characters, I must admit that this animatic won me over, so far one of the best fan made animations I have seen so far, maybe I would even say that of all this year, it is very well done and accomplished.

I loved this so much! I could totally see it as an AU in which the Digital Circus works as it was intended, being a magical place for everyone to go and forget their worries instead of being a constantly glitching prison. (That being said, there was also Kaufmo at the end, but let's just ignore it lol).

also, loved the tarzan-like scene when jax catches Pomni and when she's swinging with Ragatta the secondary voice sounds like it's her singing
also all of cain's acting on the first part where he looks kinda insane talking about what's coming with all the characters frozen, like he's done this a million times it's peak

I love Jax and Ragatha's swinging sequence so much, so well done depicting depth and all. And I love how lovely Pomni is in here, and how you depicted Caine! Caine looks goofy, mysterious, and dark. "This is where you want to be" at 2:18 looks like he is gaslighting innocent and dreamy pomni and I love it!

TADC is quite different to the AU seen in this animatic, but it’s still great!

Hopefully I'll be able to get "The Amazingly Ableist Circus" off the ground.... Like a kinda place where a group of disabled people are mistreated by their demented slavedriver (Caine) who holds a circus and it's all passed off as an edutainment thing with acts and "spreading awareness" about the disabled (but then there's totally wrong info) and then it's like they all find ways to get out but are heavily abused in the process and yadayadayada- hey and the moon's made of cheese too, hehe.
AMA. I'm desperate for one of my stories to be known and I think it's kinda raising awareness and acceptance for disabled people, what they really need, and that they should be treated like anyone else in this cruel world.... eh? ehhh?
