I swear every time I see one of these, the chimes are out of sequence somehow. Always makes me want to fix it!
That one was not out of sequence.
Not all tube chime clocks of this caliber have tubes hung in descending order. Furthermore that movement has no auto correct to right an out of sequence chime. Must be manually corrected by turning the minute hand backwards and then forwards until the quarter hour is back in sequence. Then set forward stopping at each quarter to allow the chime to play. The hour strike hand may be slid to what ever hour you desire .
This is way nicer than todays poorly made clocks!

After moving the clock, making a new pendulum, hanging the weights and all nine chimes (dated Dec. 4, 1900 btw), it's working pretty well. Much more cleaning all the built up wax and nicotine off the case and some more tuning up to do, but I'm happy so far.

Hi Nick, congrats on the clock! Here’s how I’d move it. Remove the weights with gloves on, the pendulum, the tubes and if moving far the movement and dial on the seat board. You can use large socks to cover the weights and mark which one goes where. The tubes can be spaced apart and wrapped up in a blanket. A box and towels for the movement and seatboard if removing. Hope this helps!
I planned on removing the tubes, weights and pendulum. Not thrilled with removing the movement and dial. Can I move it horizontally, well supported with blankets etc? Moving it vertically would take a large uHaul to stand it up.@@ClockswithSeth Going 100 miles. I'm so excited. I've known this clock my entire life!
@@nickfoster2924 I think you should be okay to leave the movement attached to the seat board and move it horizontally. You might check it first before laying down to make sure it is secure. A piece of painters tape across the pendulum leader would help keep it from getting knocked out of beat too. Drive carefully and enjoy that wonderful clock 😊
