Corsair s5s are front fire only. Also being faster than corsair, probably faster maneuver rates, and most likely more hull HP, this would probably eat the corsair's lunch if they got into a fight. And it used to only take 1 player in a corsair, but after nerf both ships would now require 2 people. The paladin slightly out guns the corsair with 2 crew though.
Corsair was mainly nerfed due to the amount of pilot controlled weapons. Reedemer will probably go back since it was really the only gunship that could have it's sort of fire power. Maybe, who knows. But I like how the redeemer flies now

It's pretty impressive to see a lot of the people asking those questions have badges indicating them having spend a lot of money on SC. A few years ago, there were maybe 5-10 people with such high end badges daring to be critical, like Failure to Report, Citizengamer and so on, which pretty much got mobbed out of spectrum. Other than that, I agree with the overall sentiment. Tough, if you have store credit, securing a CCU to the Paladin might be a good idea. If it gets finished before it gets nerfed, it's going to go up in price quite a lot.
Maybe one day someone will figure out that they can run a rail around the whole ship and just offset the turret or cockpit so it can run the length of the ship and be wherever it needs to be. That might actually be a cool feature.
I actually really like this one, I like chunky gun ships, plus I just got a £250 windfall out of nowhere so think this will go towards the upgrade path to a perseus as I cannot justify dropping £675 at once lol
The reason it has so many guns is very simple - CIG gets less funding this year than 2022 and 2023. And tbh it worked (who would've thought people still buy jpegs at year 12) - Anvil day got them 3.1 mln.
So after 30 minutes from concept release, they made the bottom gunners useless, so the ship is now an even worse waste of space design and pilot and co-pilot are stuck to the ceiling for no reason. This thing will get the nerf bat as soon as it is live. Will be speed nerfed for sure. Or do you think CIG didnt intentionally put the speed of this heavy gunship above the F8 and Vanguard for no reason? Definitely not to improve sales to people who are going to complain after buying one and it gets the typical live release nerf. Sorry, "balance pass".
@davotradingni7335 CIG is really good at wasting space and making ships/vehicles as big as a house :) Yes I know, they have their metrics but: 1. Fix your metrics then. We already have clipping issues with CIG's "Michelin Man" metrics, so why bother? 2. CIG showed squeezing by, more than 2 years ago, was this another fake? ua-cam.com/video/1_O2lZt7LeQ/v-deo.html
Hey camural, completely unrelated to this video but I was wondering if you know how the detection zone for ships was calculated, thank you! Great videos as always btw keep it up!
Hey Camural. Love your videos. I made a post currently called "Hey CIG, since you are so kind when you sell a new ship..." about the paladin's pilot having control of the guns for "working with smaller crews", making a point about giving it to other ships like the Zeus (and others)... it was getting traction and it was deleted by Nightrider himself, he lectured me and I inspected the post and removed the only word I could find objectionable. The word "desperate". And reposted it. Guess what happened? It was moved to the Feedback gulag. Out of sight as it tends to happen. I despise CIG's moderation.
So this is basically an XL Hurricane? I love the idea of it and i love how it looks, but as a Corsair owner I know that CIG does not respect the player's financial investments in the game, even though for a growing number of people, what we have today is the only Star Citizen those people will ever know. So I will be looking forward to buying this in game at some point (post nerf, no doubt) but CIG won't be getting any more money out of me.
if they had story and they had real gamplay, and solid mechanics, they could be making money on expansions, like every oither succesful MMO, instead of ships
My only thing I disagree with is your comment on the vtol thrusters, It has to more next to the bottom maneuvering thrusters in front of the wings. But trust me I was thinking this aswell untill I found them. The C1 spirt does the same thing.
@@Camural The extra vtol thrusters are NEXT to the maneuvering thrusters. Sorry if that didn't come through well. The large grey squares near the front. At least that's what they look like, if their not then I will be more annoyed. On the Specsheet.
@@Camural I never said anything about the cutlass or the corsair and I hate Drake for that very reason lol. I did mention the Crusader C1 spirit, as it has 2 sets of built in Vtol thrusters on top of the wing mounted ones.
Well, the good news is this has been a cheap IAE for me. Some melting and about $10 spent and I'm done. Do all of the departments at CIG work in a vacuum with zero communication with one another because this is what it feels like.
Star Citizen used to have fairly realistic atmospheric flight modeling, with the exception that our ships didn't seem to generate any perceivable lift. CIG didn't like that ships handled so well in atmosphere, though, so they grossly over-tuned the drag characteristics. Still reasonably sure ships don't create lift even now.
@@leslieviljoen That's precisely my point. Every ship designed before circa Alpha 3.4 is convincingly thrust balanced and lift balanced. It's a crapshoot for anything made after the fact.
@@KiithnarasAshaa ah ok. Thing is, space ships can be all sorts of funky shapes (as long as thrust vectors are centre of mass) if they are not going to be used in atmo. Seems Elite missed out on a lot of possibilities!
Star citizen has a lot of really good looking ships. But to me, they’re all almost what I want. The Paladin’s aesthetics is now my favorite and if it could hold just a little SCU 4 to 8 and hold a Pulse I would be very excited for a ship. I know it will be slower and clunky but I would really like to run Merc, bunkers and PVE bounty hunting and capital and cargo protection missions in it one day. Also… I would like to see the redeemer reworked to all size 4s keep its new better nimble flying. But give it 5 sets of size 4s. In the redeemer. Or the rear gun just turn it into a point defense turret somehow so it needs one less person. Then you have a small gunship the Redeemer and a big gunship the Paladin. Also toss the MSR a bone and give the pilot 2 size 4s it’s not going to make anyone upset. The MSR needs it.
@Ooh that would be nice also, so the people that love the Valkyrie ship could be happy as well. I feel CIG has a lot of (just missed the mark) on many ships. People want a ship that speaks to them, that can be their hot rod in space. People want to be a hero or villain a pirate, bounty hunter, Merc, and many other things. None of what that person wants will be boring them. The want it to be over the top badass. Not always but I don’t play my character as a janitor. Sure some people may want that I guess. The Paladin would be cool ship to be able to run 1 to 4 people. And I would do that, it’s called versatility. I am not a meta player when I daydream about going to a bunker in the big clunky ship and heading inside it’s the best star citizen for me. I very rarely shoot my ship guns at all. But I still want a badass array of weapons in my hands. I want that feeling for everyone in the game.
I miss Star Citizen. I stopped playing 4 months ago because of all the issues. Some like this. I keep hoping to look and see the reduced players will change thier ways but it actually seems to be getting worse. So sad man..
Doesn´t SC already have enough combat oriented vehicles?? Or, isn't there already a huge bias towards those kind of vehicles?? What is that obsession of putting players hunting, stealing, killing and destroying each others characters and assets?? Geez, how much more childish and psychotic can they become??
No interest in size contest for probable nerf down the road. No docking/hacking No capacity to drop a atlas platform or carry a atlas platform No module Beds and shitters God forbid to forget about that bullshit. Beds in an operation ship, hehehehehehehe!!! That two hundreds sixty dollars does nothing but pew pew mine is bigger than yours, no gameplay whatsoever but an overpriced TTK coming about in a universe of TTD with no boarding solution, no deployment solution. Pew, pewww.... pewpewpewpeeeeewwww
Unpopular opinion but I prefer the redeemer as it is now as a solo pilot. It handles way better. The reason why it had size 5s was to make up for being slow. Slow and heavy hitting. Now it’s faster and still has 6 size 4s and 4 size threes. It’s in no way shape or form a bad ship as it sits now. The shielding is the only thing that needs changed. The paladin sits a good spot because it’s a gunship. Should have more fire power than a redeemer. The redeemer is a gunship/dropship. Capable of holding 4 troops. The paladin holds none. The starlancer tax is a heavy dropship as well. Being able to hold troops and vehicles and cargo. All three do something better than the other in one aspect or another. They are allowing players to choose. People are way too misinformed on stats and statistics of these three ships. As for the Corsair I can’t justify that. But as a player, it was annoying seeing everyone and their mom in a Corsair. I see more variety now than I have ever seen in the verse. I still see the Corsair around too.
@Ns_Shadow206 A ship doesn't get sluggish because it has 2 size 5 guns on the manned turrets. A ship doesn't suddenly get more agile because it only has 2 size 4 guns on the manned turrets. This is Kindergarten balancing.
@ not really. If it was faster with size 5s then it would be meta. Like it was when it was first released. More people complained about it being slower than having size 5s. There was plenty of people in threads saying downsize the size 5 to 4 and make it faster and more agile. It’s not kindergarten balancing. It’s making different ships excel in certain areas. You can’t have a ship with do it all the best. Redeemer was the best. Then became the worst and is now balanced perfectly fine. And I’m sure plenty of people would agree. Actually a decent amount of content creators are only validating what I’m saying. People who care about balance more are happier with the redeemer. I think people see a decrease in something and automatically say “it’s nerfed”. Redeemer didn’t get nerfed. It got buffed.
People complain about CIG adjusting ships, but if they think the Deemer needs smaller turret guns, that’s their opinion. Your pledge doesn’t mean they can't nerf your ships. As for the Corsair, why do people complain about it being nerfed? The ship is listed as an "Exploration/Expedition" vessel, so of course it doesn't need the most pilot-controlled guns in the verse.
I still own the deemer and corsair and I refuse to give up on them. If they gave back some, if not all what they took from us I would be willing to add this ship to my fleet. But until they do this ship is a NO for me.

Maybe one day someone will figure out that they can run a rail around the whole ship and just offset the turret or cockpit so it can run the length of the ship and be wherever it needs to be. That might actually be a cool feature.
CIG updated info. Lateral turrets will be pilot controlled (unlike Valky) when free from gunner.
Based on the nerves of many ships in the past, I say “It will happen again!”
Hahahaha the end , my god 😂
When do I get back the 4 S5 guns I paid for on my Redemer? CIG stole them. I bought them with real money,.
Thanks Cam
So after 30 minutes from concept release, they made the bottom gunners useless, so the ship is now an even worse waste of space design and pilot and co-pilot are stuck to the ceiling for no reason. This thing will get the nerf bat as soon as it is live. Will be speed nerfed for sure. Or do you think CIG didnt intentionally put the speed of this heavy gunship above the F8 and Vanguard for no reason? Definitely not to improve sales to people who are going to complain after buying one and it gets the typical live release nerf. Sorry, "balance pass".
the ending lmao
Wasted internals. Could have had a cyclone sized space and ramp.
@davotradingni7335 CIG is really good at wasting space and making ships/vehicles as big as a house :)
Yes I know, they have their metrics but:
Another money sink!?
Hey Camural. Love your videos. I made a post currently called "Hey CIG, since you are so kind when you sell a new ship..." about the paladin's pilot having control of the guns for "working with smaller crews", making a point about giving it to other ships like the Zeus (and others)... it was getting traction and it was deleted by Nightrider himself, he lectured me and I inspected the post and removed the only word I could find objectionable. The word "desperate". And reposted it. Guess what happened? It was moved to the Feedback gulag. Out of sight as it tends to happen. I despise CIG's moderation.
@Corbent-Workshop yes CIG loves to do this.
I gonna buy it even when it most likely gonna get nerfed because i like the design and i still have some storecredit
Let's see who wins the nerf fight between this and the TAC?
This thing will get the nerf hammer in a big way.
Ofcourse. SoonTM!
guaranteed they'll find a comment with 2 likes that goes like
"does the paladin have beds for all its crew?" xD
So this is basically an XL Hurricane? I love the idea of it and i love how it looks, but as a Corsair owner I know that CIG does not respect the player's financial investments in the game, even though for a growing number of people, what we have today is the only Star Citizen those people will ever know.
So I will be looking forward to buying this in game at some point (post nerf, no doubt) but CIG won't be getting any more money out of me.
Another combat ship I dont care for, we have so many combat ships. this is just a different redeemer
I don’t buy concepts any longer, I will wait and maybe in the future once it releases I will build a CCU to it.
You'd have to wait even longer than that, see what happened to the corsair.
if they had story and they had real gamplay, and solid mechanics, they could be making money on expansions, like every oither succesful MMO, instead of ships
My only thing I disagree with is your comment on the vtol thrusters, It has to more next to the bottom maneuvering thrusters in front of the wings. But trust me I was thinking this aswell untill I found them. The C1 spirt does the same thing.
@sparkyails123 of course she has maneuvering thrusters, but please don't tell us that small maneuvering thrusters can compete with main engines.
@@Camural The extra vtol thrusters are NEXT to the maneuvering thrusters. Sorry if that didn't come through well. The large grey squares near the front. At least that's what they look like, if their not then I will be more annoyed. On the Specsheet.
@sparkyails123 thanks I have to check it out.
But Cutlass and Corsair don'´t have VTOL thrusters at the front.
@@Camural I never said anything about the cutlass or the corsair and I hate Drake for that very reason lol. I did mention the Crusader C1 spirit, as it has 2 sets of built in Vtol thrusters on top of the wing mounted ones.
Nerf incoming in 1 year...
Neah one quarter after release.
Well, the good news is this has been a cheap IAE for me. Some melting and about $10 spent and I'm done. Do all of the departments at CIG work in a vacuum with zero communication with one another because this is what it feels like.
I wonder if any space game has even slightly realistic aerodynamics. Flight of Nova maybe?
Star Citizen used to have fairly realistic atmospheric flight modeling, with the exception that our ships didn't seem to generate any perceivable lift. CIG didn't like that ships handled so well in atmosphere, though, so they grossly over-tuned the drag characteristics. Still reasonably sure ships don't create lift even now.
@@KiithnarasAshaa no, they are not realistic at all. Can you imagine something like a Corsair flying through real air? 😁
Please give the ship at least 4 to 8 scu cargo. And be able to hold a pulse.
Why?
Star citizen has a lot of really good looking ships. But to me, they’re all almost what I want. The Paladin’s aesthetics is now my favorite and if it could hold just a little SCU 4 to 8 and hold a Pulse I would be very excited for a ship. I know it will be slower and clunky but I would really like to run Merc, bunkers and PVE bounty hunting and capital and cargo protection missions in it one day. Also…
I would like to see the redeemer reworked to all size 4s keep its new better nimble flying.
@@Mace1000S why not go for the Valyrie instead?
I will also never own a capital ship, I don’t care for them.
Look like a lazy Valkyrie Vanguard hybrid
Love it!
No docking/hacking
No capacity to drop a atlas platform or carry a atlas platform
No module
Beds and shitters God forbid to forget about that bullshit.
The ship is listed as an "Exploration/Expedition" vessel, so of course it doesn't need the most pilot-controlled guns in the verse.
whats the point in buying ship for this disaster of a demo its not even a real game after 12 years...
I still own the deemer and corsair and I refuse to give up on them. If they gave back some, if not all what they took from us I would be willing to add this ship to my fleet.
But until they do this ship is a NO for me.
