I used to live in Anchorage when I was a kid. Loved building igloos, ice skating, camping and watching moose run around in the woods near our house. Went to Willow Crest Elementary and my sister's went to Dimond-Mears HS. Great times to grow up in. Thanks for sharing and bringing back good memories!
So did I, way back in 1962.
born there in 2001!
Same, went to willow crest, to Mears, then to diamond, there's so many good memories that I can't replicate.
i was born in anchorage in 2009.
I was born in Oklahoma City and then moved to Omaha Nebraska and now im moving to Alaska in a couple months near wasilla or anchorage it sounds like fun I’ve been waiting to visit and now im moving there it’s gonna be AMAZING!😁
Looked like a nice evening for a drive. Love the fact that for a metropolitan area, the city center never really has that much traffic. I can usually travel from one end of the city to the other in less than 30 mins.
This is fascinating! I lived in Anchorage as a kid in 1962, and nothing is recognizable. We left before the earthquake in 1964 and I am sure that not much was left standing after that monster.
We were in the earthquake and left shortly after.
plenty was left standing. Only specific parts of the city, like the middle of downtown and turnagain were affected.
Desiring that summer arrives to enjoy the beautiful nature here in Alaska.
We're getting closer!
Born in Seward, and just a teenager during 64 Quake.
Standing up was so tiresome, we leaned forward to touch our hands to the ground! It was funny watching the trees flip back and forth almost touching the ground each way. Then the radio said people died...and wasn't fun anymore!!
Thinking about moving to Alaska, I wish you can drive around more Suburban areas.
request taken into consider, thank you !!
If you like isolation and cold then Alaska is for you!!!
Very depressing place to live after 6 months!!!
you think you want to live there, but you don't. I was up there as a kid and young adult, because my dad was in the Air Force. When I had a chance to move to Colorado, I didn't hesitate, I now live in Texas and am glad to be here, despite our fascist Republican government.
The mountains are beautiful 😍 🏔
Hello from Kazakhstan 👋🇰🇿
It is very well filmed, we enjoyed it very much. Our best regards from Transilvania, Romania.
Thank you NuttyNu for the grand tour. It's definitely a beautiful State. Thanks again for making this video and for sharing. Andy...
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@NuttyNu Oh very much so. One of these days we'll make the drive from Atlantic Canada to beautiful Alaska.
It would be interesting to see what the cost of living differences are between here and there, like Costco and Walmart.
Moving to Anchorage at the end of October and I can't wait! Great video!
Went here once as a kid. Was the time of my life. Alaska is so beautiful 😻
Whether it’s 30 or 60 fps...THANK YOU for the video, as it adds perspective as to what I will get myself into should I transition out there to Elmendorf
Thanks Warren
eu nuca imaginei que o alasca tinha uma cidade grande asim e bonita valeu
Drive in downtown Anchorage 17 minutes done!!!!
I love the way u filming it, felt like a vlog but in a movie way. So cool!
Glad you liked it!!
What a beautiful city! That was pretty cool when you were driving towards the mountains. The view is breath taking!
Can't get enough of seeing those breathtaking Chugach mountains and colorful sky cover. Love and miss Anchorage already. Last time was there in March 2020. I have a few videos of Anchorage for summer and winter. Will be back soon.
I love Alaska!!! A miss Alaska!!!
Last time I visit at 2016.
I hope visit soon again
Appreciate the video....gives me a totally different perspective of Alaska as more than just some tourist destination
Also looks like at the 5:16 mark of the video Barry Gibb (BeeGee's) built a time machine out of a DeLorean 😁
I was stationed at Ft. Richardson for two years in the late 70's. I would love for you if possible to drive around Ft. Rich for me.
Richard Phillips not allow. Military property
You need a Jber visitors card but hard to get if you dont have a business there.
@@NuttyNu you can get a pass if u say ur going to the Cemetery. Work everytime for me.
Was at Richardson 76-77. Support Co.
I remember a arcade place called space station in 1990
I grew up in Anchorage. I begged my parents to send me to Swiss boarding school just to escape. They said no. Luckily we spent our summers in West Berlin and Italy. I would have not made it otherwise.
this is so great a view. I've toured it.
Items stuck to windshield very distracting. He ran a red light at the first of the vedio.. If the camera was higher up, like from a pickup, then you would see more people, buildings and less sky.
Beautiful country
I'm going to Anchorage with my brother and friends for a week In July of 2022! So excited and looking forward to Hike and see Killer Whales!
P.s. Greetings from Michigan!
I just started watching and I am enjoying the tours. I was a little concerned about the high-rise buildings being safe if you get another big one.
The sky looks suspiciously close to the ground
love from Russia and Canada
Looks kind of like tennessee. Maby some day I’ll live out there for a few years
Amo o Alaska meu sonho é conhecer ❤️
Alaska is truly beautiful but I’m a warm weather person, cities also are not attractive to me. 🇺🇸
There is a viedo on that.
Late June: Play golf until 11:30 at night. Tee off at 4 a.m.
I was about to take a job there at the marriott this year but I went back to nyc and immediately regretted it.
come back plz
Thank You...! From Philippine Islandas 🌳🌴🙂
Welcome!
Nice video! I see a lot of restaurants and shops in the downtown. How were these places affected by the pandemic at the time of this video? Just curious. Thank you :)
=-it's bad !
Thanks for posting,I miss Anchorage . I only lived there a year but it was ok.I remember driving around one last time before I left. How long have you been there?
Since 2002
Wow ,2002 you are a true local then.Yeah I was there 2017 and then I moved back to Boston for a job and to be closer to family. But I did like it there and the coolest thing I ever did was drive from Anchorage to Boston. Thanks again for the videos and I’m a new subscriber ✌️
Real quiet for the city. Tourism must have hurt the economy?? Still beautiful to see the city. We just got quarantined again, all visitors coming into N.Y., this sucks!! Be Well Nu!!
Phil Carroll I live in ny I have not heard Cuomo say anything about quarantine.
@@Hooptierescue he's quarantining people that are coming from a large amount of states. He's killed people in my eyes in the nursing homes, I don't like him at all!
I think our city is shabby but we have fantastic parks! Thank you for beautiful footage.
Thanks for watching
Your so handsome mikhail...
Ha you want shabby come to St. Louis.
There’s a Hard Rock Cafe? Around 4:10 🤔 isn’t that where rum runners was? I moved several years ago after living there 14 years
there was, they just shut down for good this early year
I love alaska
Thank
nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Not seen these streets since 1972 , thanks
wow! that's a long time my friend, hope this brings good memories
@@NuttyNu yes sir. 😊👌
Thank you for the tour. Are you a permanent resident ?
Yes
What is the song at 7:15??
No one cares
Background music
People are not realizing why nobody is on the streets. It's because it is dangerous to walk around Anchorage.
not really
Yah… they ran over our husky just for fun when my sister was jogging.
I had a pack of guys come up to me asking for money on a Tuesday at lunch time! I told them I was tapped out. They bought it.
No it isn't.
Where is the best place for a steak dinner in Anchorage?
Orso has a great steak at a reasonable price. Definitely DON'T go to Sullivan's at the corner of 5th Avenue and C Street. The $45.00 steak there is a piece of meat on a white plate with NOTHING else. No potato, no salad, no mushrooms, no onions, no sauce. The ambience is terrible, broadcast radio on overhead speakers mixed with sounds of dishwashing from the open kitchen.
Go to Dave & Buster for a more relax atmosphere 🙏👍 or Simon & Seafort on 5th ave and L st downtown Anchorage.
Simon and Seeforts was my go to for an absolutely killer prime rib with a side of smoked firecracker shrimp. I was a catering chef for years in the Museum of History and Art. For the Marx Bros. Great vid here. I moved Outside in 2014 after 15 yrs. Thx for the memories.:8)
No way Club Paris beats them all. Their Filets are out of this world.
orso and club paris
When does fall foliage usually start in Anchorage?
Mid August
@@NuttyNu Oh! I looked up a website, it says September that's when Anchorage see it.
@@NuttyNu you guys really don't have a fall up there. It snows in Fairbanks in September after having a warm summer that lasts until mid August.
@@ShellymanStudios mid August!
@@gretevandoren9688 Oh okay!
I'm trying to talk my wife into moving there.
From Texas!
come vist first
@@NuttyNu That's in the works
It is extreme. My dad had us move there and we kids grew up there. Hated every day of it. But I don’t know what Texas is like.
@@gretevandoren9688 Texas is hot and very humid most of the year.
Bro where is aqua pool party, bikini girls, party festivals like tomorrowland ,beach party in summer..if you are young person and you live in this cold Town , you dont know what is a living a life....
The US isn’t just about big, famous cities with non-stop parties. There are many serene places to visit and live in. Even young people like the winter and enjoy skiing, skating, and snowmobiling. The natural beauty of Alaska can’t be beat.
There is more than one blueprint to living life.
I'm coming to Anchorage for the first time in my life just for fun. I wanted to check out videos of this city but this video is recorded at 30fps... This is 2020, please use 60fps... Everything is so blurry can't see anything.
sadgadfg I’m sorry . I will be better next time
@@NuttyNu Thank you, I appreciate that. Literally almost all phones have 60fps on it. Even the iPhone 8 has 60fps. Every camera on phones have 60fps. It makes the videos sooooooooo smooth, like buttery smooth. Please check out the difference.
sadgadfg what is 60fps??
@@NuttyNu Really? Do a Google search about it.
@@cwgzz81 the fps doesnt change the video quality it changes how many still images are shown per second to make a video and the only thing it affects visually is how jumpy a video looks and on top of all of that humans cant see past 30fps so in a irl video like this it makes no difference
Looks like a depressing town..
Whys that?
@@magyarbluey8406 idk just looks like a sad town that has a bad drug problem
boring and expensive
How refreshing is to see most people not having to wear a mask! In the meantime everyone in the lower 48 is either cooped up or masked up. It is so depressing! Thanks for the video....
We will get over this C-19
Masks were mandated in Fairbanks as of today. In, "public" at least...
@@NuttyNu yeah after you get you vaccine
