Ok. So There are a good few things that he remembered a bit incorrectly, claimed to be unimportant, or said were unexplained. So I'm gonna list them off and try to explain them a bit more. First off, the beginning of this game. Even though it was never truly stated, after doing multiple viewings of the cutscenes and figuring out what goes where. I believe that it's not Silver's story where it begins. It's Shadow's story that starts first. Then once the Kingdom Valley section is done and Mephiles sends Shadow and Rouge to the future, we then pick up with Silver, who we then follow until after Blaze's Wave Ocean. Then we finally get to Sonic's story beginning. "They say Silver and Blaze defend the survivors" No. They never said that. In fact, the only 'mention' of survivors is when Silver talks about how people just point to the flames when he asked how this happened. After that, Silver just focuses on he and Blaze going to fight Iblis as he appears. "Siler gets separated and goes 'I better find the Iblis Trigger'." You forgot to mention how Silver briefly is in awe of the forest that he ended up in. That's one of his character traits, he admires the past and all it had, compared to the literal hell he lived in for his whole life. "Elise has a Chaos Emerald for a necklace." No, Elise does not have it as a necklace. She keeps it on her person as a 'lucky charm' She was just holding it close to her chest when we first see it, although the size is still inconsistent as it is small enough for her to close her hand around the emerald fully, meanwhile Sonic and his huge hands holds it and it's nearly as big as his hand. "Eggman's mech is two arms. One is the full arm while the other is just the forearm." One of the arms on his Egg mobile is folded in during the scene in question. It has two full arms, but they can fold inwards when not in use. "Sonic and Tails meet up and decide to follow Eggman's ship to the desert." You skipped the beach chase, but it does ultimately amount to nothing, unless the feather she lost that Sonic picks up has any plot significance outside of it flying off at the ending of the game. "Nothing of substance was there during Amy and Silver's time in the desert." Once again, you missed out on Silver admiring the past. This time, Silver calls the Desert beautiful, commenting on the gorgeous sky and everyone he see's being happy, much to Amy's confusion. "Shadow and Rouge find a destroyed Omega in Crisis City." He's actually in standby mode, because of Rouge giving him a mission to deliver the green chaos emerald that they find in Crisis City. "Sonic and Shadow fight a giant lava worm to get a Chaos Emerald." They fight Iblis while he's still trying to build his body, but he has no limbs made yet. "I'm confused as to how Omega got to the future." He did it the normal way. He waited. Put himself into standby mode and literally waited for 200+ years, until the time he was needed came. He then reactivated and went to find and help Shadow fight Mephiles in the future. "Eggman kidnapped Elise offscreen." There is a cutscene for it in Silver's story. She gets ambushed as she makes it back to the castle, and Eggman abducts her there. "I don't understand why Shadow doesn't take the Scepter of Darkness with him to the present." He can't because it already contains the past Mephiles in it right now, so he can't use it to contain the present Mephiles, since it already has the past one sealed inside it. (And there is no way Shadow is risking dealing with more than one Mephiles at the same time.) "How does Omega hunt down Shadow if he was waiting with a chaos emerald for Shadow in the future?" There are two Omegas in the present after the Mephiles fight in Flame Core. Present Omega left to put himself in Standby Mode. Future Omega helped Shadow get back to the present and helps him fight Mephiles in the present, so Future Omega gets reprogrammed by humanity to hunt down and seal Shadow, where he most likely gets destroyed in the process, leaving Present Omega to wait the hundreds of years and basically do what Future Omega does. "Why does Blaze die while Elise doesn't when Iblis is sealed?" I'm 90% sure that she actually didn't die. She told Silver to seal her into a different dimension, and when he couldn't, she did it to herself. (My and a few other people's headcanon is that she banished herself and Iblis to the Sol Dimension.) "Why didn't Mephiles just merge with Iblis in the future?" This is most likely him just wanting to try to beat Shadow for personal reasons first, before merging with Iblis, but it really was never confirmed.
@@GoldLight73 Unless he time traveled back to the future and was like "what the fuck" because he was in the past when the future changed, so he just jumped into a completely different state of affairs independent from his existence, or at least his current one, as there would probably still be a separate Silver running around if it worked like that. ...Although _that_ future would already be in ruins from the next crisis. You know, seeing as he doesn't react to Crisis City at all in Generations, but his dialogue indicates familiarity with Sonic, maybe his future always looks super fucked up and fiery for completely unrelated reasons. lmao
@@Estra_Estra I mean, if we're really deep-diving into this, I've actually made a video essay talking about Silver and his weird continuity situation. Given that his entire character revolves around traveling back in time to save his era, every time Silver appears should technically mean he's erasing whatever ruined future he comes from. He's saved his world from Iblis, the Ifrit, Infinite and the Metal Virus. That's at least four times the guy's basically rebooted his own history.
Hahaha, this was fun, a nice casual conversation about a great game! The story is enough to make someone's head spin, though I do think it's quite a good story if you don't overlook the time travel aspect. Also, Elise doesn't cry for her father because she was very young and doesn't remember him. I like this game though. Compared to all the other 'bad' or poorly received games, this one always sticks out to me, not just because it's Sonic, but also because of the high budget and potential in the gameplay, which they just happened to screw up. The ending was also funny and a bit sad. Even the boxart tells what a grand adventure they were going for. It's like a story of foreboding, all leading up to its release throughout development. Despite this, though, I actually really enjoyed it. I don't run into glitches whenever I play it. The loading screens I think are the shortest on console with an SSD upgrade. I do wonder if they ever fixed the bugs, because I think the platinum hits version is a lot more stable (or at least some copies with the PH label are), and I think the DLC also improves on the gameplay and patches some stuff. But anyhow, unlike most others that say this was missed potential, I actually did feel the full potential in the finally product mainly because of the lack of technical issues I had, so it's not impossible to enjoy it. Plus, the glitches are what make this game so memorable and great even! While p06 dies exist, I think it's a shame that it's not going to have hub worlds. Plus, this game I don't think is on the Xbox Live store anymore. I doubt Sega will remake it, but now that Shadow Generations is out, they are taking some inspiration from this, though I hate how they did Mephiles dirty. But I don't make fun of this game like the general audience does and genuinely enjoy it!
Trying to explain sonic 06 to a non fan is like trying to teach someone the lore of Chris Chan. Once they down the rabbit whole there is no coming back
I felt confused taking notes for this video cuz I realized how batshit insane this game I had been playing for over a decade. I can only imagine what it’s like hearing it for the first time with zero context
Although whatever ages they are, it has now been shown that Generations is less than a year after Adventure 2, so they can't have changed much... That's, uh... One eventful year, huh.
After Rouge notices Shadow didn't return, she gets Omega to reprogram himself to help Shadow. The time travel with that is still confusing though... More looping, I guess...?
I _think_ Blaze doesn't die, she asks Silver to seal her in a different (Sol?) dimension using Chaos Control, but Silver's like "no wtf" so I guess she does it herself since she had the emeralds? I don't know why sealing Iblis in her was so ineffective that she also had to dip from the universe entirely, and apparently so urgent that she couldn't hang around for even an hour longer before going for it. Oh, and you know, her knowing to warp herself into a whole other reality at all. Eh, anyone can use Chaos Control to do anything in this game. Would probably have sandwich materialization as one of its powers if the story went on for longer. Maybe future Iblis is like, too powerful and or stable, and the reason why Blaze seemingly couldn't hold it in properly, as well as why Mephiles didn't try fusing with Iblis in the future, is one and the same, and they needed the Flames of Disaster in a more, like, natural form to mix with... Not that, you know, Mephiles couldn't just warp to the moment of Elise's death anyway...?
It’s one of those stories where the right pieces are there but could do with more script revisions to clean up and clarify things to the viewer. If they stated or gave direct evidence that Mephiles was manipulating everyone into carrying out his end goals including Sonic saving Elise which it of itself is a paradox because of what we know from Silver’s time, it would help his plan make a lot more sense and the time travel element by extension. Turn a messy time travel plot into something that is messy on purpose because Mephiles is using the time paradox to fulfil his plan of rejoining with Iblis and everyone including Eggman is unknowingly playing into his hands. Win or lose, he stood to win no matter the outcome. Give Sonic more plot relevance and you have the calculated mastermind versus the unknown variable. Sonic Story really needs a proper rewrite. The other two only needs some tweaking but Sonic needs an overall.

Slight misconception. Omega was never destroyed. Shadow looked closely at him and noted that he was in manual standby mode. That was literally Omega waiting.
