Mine shaft in Ashmore Park play area made safe

Children in Wolverhampton have got their playground back thanks to repairs by the Coal Authority on a nearby mine shaft.
Engineer Katherine Halfpenny explains more about the works at Ashmore Park, which we had to carry out on a 96 metre deep shaft that served the former Ashmore Park Colliery.

As a child in early sixties we were warned about mine shafts in this area. We bunny hopped over every square inch, trying to find them!😅
