    Notes
Writing music is like creating abstract stories or movies; the various melodies and motifs are individual characters while the accompaniments are different settings where these characters develop and interact with one another. As a very visual person, I tend to form images in my mind whenever I’m creating music. As my compositions develop and unfold over time, my mind connects the various melodies and different sections in a way that (to me) makes sense as a cohesive narrative. This concertino is a dark and magical journey through mystical lands that ends in a virtuosic dance.

Let me put my admiration in the simplest way possible...
This work in particular is ready for Carnegie Hall.

I like this as an orchestral work. I think a top notch conductor could pull it off with the correct verve. I am 90% certain that this is an utterly pliable work in terms of volume and speed control. Solidly written for sheer tonal interest, proper instrumentation, not one damn bad note or boring moment in it.
I think it is over too quickly.

Thank you so much! It definitely has a different 'flavor' as an orchestral work vs. wind ensemble. A bit more cinematic, perhaps... I am planning on adapting the entire concerto for orchestra - just worked on this concertino (the last movement + some extra bits) for now. I hope to get a recording of it soon!
