As a former trucker in the New England/eastern seaboard area, I really enjoy your down to earth videos. So many today are so dramatic about docks, receivers, shippers, when it's all just a part of the life.
My name is Paul Martin from Decatur Ga, I have been watching you for a few days, I think you will go far, bless you your wife and your son, stay bless brother I like what you do and say. Paul.
Another bus load being delivered to NY. Engineers come up with some rediculous things to justify their need. Much needed good rant.......love it. Bless you Back to the great white north. Hope they found some more to fill the trailer for the backhaul considering all the tolls on the NY load. Stay safe, stay warm.
and thats why the older long hood trucks are hella expensive..even used ones,,everyone wants a truck with none of the new tech stuff that will break every 1000 miles
dude, you can do better than a 15 minute rant !!!😂😂😂 i remember the old Josh vlogs , a whole week's worth of a rant on the same subject LOL . anyway , most of the car-truck companies don't even want to complicate things , they have no choice though between fed regulations-epa crap etc etc
I'm from Burlington, ON! lol I live in Stoney Creek now but Lived in Burlington for over 30 years. Lots of French speaking people and French signs in Eastern Ontario and Northern Ontario as well. I travel to Eastern Ontario and QC alot for my job and im not bilingual lol it can be difficult.
Josh, don't worry about the conversion. Most Americans are used to some forms of metric in their daily lives. We buy bottles of soda in liters (1 liter/2 liter etc.) but other liquids are in gallons, one of those life great mysteries beyond my pay grade. For me, what causes confusion is when you measure snow/rain in cubic centimeters, but if you tell me 4 inches, that I can understand.
Josh Champlain New York is about 40 minutes from my house and about 20 minutes from where my sister lives. Probably about as close as you’re ever going to get. The road in the north country are terrible I hope you don’t tire blow hitting a pothole they’re pretty bad. Stay safe.
HEY MAN....USE THE BALL OF YOUR FOOT WHEN YOU CHECK YOUR TIRES AND YOU CAN GAUGE BY THE SOUND AND VIBRATION OF YOUR TIRE PRESSURE...I USUALLY GET WITHIN TEN POUNDS ALL THE TIME 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice trailer. I love those Conestoga trailers. No Tarping but the only thing is you have to watch your weights because the roll tarp add about 3 to 4 thousand pounds which reduces your loads . Harder to find a load that don’t exceed your gross
You would have rather back track all the way to napierville if no parking in Brossard!!! NO WAY!!! There are at least 6 truck stops on the island. 2 of which are ultramars
Hi Trucker Josh great video as always the weather looked nice for traveling sorry you had to back track but look at all the places you did go this trip some different scenery was nice the Castle was pretty cool you looked a little stressed get some rest and have a safe trip back home to Britt and baby Theo god bless 🙏
When I moved from Canada to the US I moved to up state NY before moving to Georgia I worked for a couple of Companies that would send us to New York City. basically Queens They sent me there 5 Times & then I told them Never Ever send me there again!!!!
O yes Ill like a vlog about the old trucks and why you prefer those. What do you think about the new Volvo? Its not your brand I know but its a well engineered truck I think😅
Thnx for the vids Josh. I’ve had to wait a few days for a load before in Phoenix. The company got a load from Phoenix to Los Angeles, dropped that load then got one going back up to Regina then back to home base of Saskatoon. That’s trucking eh we just never know sometimes how it will go with loads.
WWHHOOO COOL IT ... HAHAHA YOU COOL IT !!!! ( Just kidding ). That's was so funny but true. Karen is giving you reason to RANT. LOVE IT. GREAT VIDEO THX AND SAFE TRAVELS 🙏
i believe that rest area in New York where you stopped is called Sloatsburg. I've stopped there many times and broke down there a few...lol !!! Not sure if you're picking up east of Montreal, there's an Irving truck stop in Saint Liboire exit 145
No, I wouldn’t drive team either like I keep saying if I wasn’t disabled, I would be a driver for sure. I spent six years on the road with my dad. I loved every bit of it but the one thing that I would not do is drive team there’s no way you can get a restful sleep at 65 mile an hour.
After the fact now but if you're crossing in Champlain heading to Laprairie, Montreal won't be in the picture. You'll be staying on the South Shore of Montreal.
I did a bit of team driving back in the day, UK - Greece - Cyprus. Two day boat trip Greece - Cyprus in the summer, hardly work?? You have to get on well with the other guy though.
You are correct, Josh. Albany is the capital of my State of NY. Also Josh, every capital of the US states are located as much as possible in the center of each state
Isn't it so nice to get out of the madness of the Big City? Even if there's snow, the solitude is worth a million bucks. Hope you have a restful evening.
Yep no more 389's and the W~900 will be next. CATERPILLAR is long gone and Im so glad I'm retired and off the big road because I'd never wanna drive any of that AERO CRAP and the 589 Pete looks like hammered hell. Have a good trip out there driver.
Maybe one day, I’ll be able to understand, why they can’t just have one standard world wide. Keeps this ole brain working. Do enjoy your taking time to explain this to an old man.
I like the old style trucks as much as anyone but aerodynamics seem to be a big part of fuel economy. If you look at trucking solely as a business fuel economy is a major porition of your expense and has a huge impact on your take home pay. Keep up the good work
I personally hate jersey to go left you have to make a right in some places it so annoying. Just like hate driving in queens and Brooklyn with all the one ways streets
That "Castle" you saw while going through Albany is the administration building for the State University of New York (SUNY). (formerly the Hudson & Delaware Railroad Building) So basically the HQ for all of the state colleges. A few blocks to the west of that building was the capitol building. You can see it earlier in that clip with a little bit of red on its roof. It is definitely one of my favorite state capitol buildings because it is very unique. (I am totally not biased as a New Yorker.
It didn't used to be just French on the road signs in Quebec. In the 1990's I think Quebec got into a pissing contest with Ottawa about some issue - can't remember what - and said "We'll fix you. We'll take all the English signs down."
Josh, our absolutely correct the engineers and designers are going overboard making repairs and maintenance a nightmare. The modern pick ups are going crazy on price and part replacement .
Not replacing the 389 will prove very dumb. The 579 doesnt count. After they start losing market share I bet you'll hear about a new 399 being developed.
Unfortunately Josh the W900 is going away also, and it’s not the manufacturers it’s the government forcing their hands, requiring them to only be allowed to manufacture trucks that get a certain minimum of mpg it’s absolutely ridiculous!!
Noticed you skipped right over Central PA showing your trip on 80. That's ok, nothing much noteworthy here. I'm right off exit 240 and son works at Loves, at exit 242. Let me know real time next time you're coming thru. I miss Diesel and your conversations with him!!
Oh, don’t get me started on the DEF every single brand new truck sucks. It doesn’t matter what make you get doesn’t matter what model it is it is if it’s a brand new truck with DEF on it on it they all suck what you did with buying an 08 Kenworth is the best way to go

lol rants r great and as for the mystery un marked white bus with Texas plates I wonder what that’s about hey nudge nudge wink wink safe state here we come drive safe
Josh, one thing puzzled me. You fueled and then you told us the breakdown of price, miles per gallon etc. You said the price there in NY was 3.77 per gallon and then you told us that the price per liter was CAD 1.33. However, there are 3.78liters in 1 US Gallon. This means the price per liter should be about 1 cad. What say you about this, inform me as I am confused. Thanks, Philippe. price per liter came to CAD 1.33 (I am not too sure of this figure). However, 1 US Gallon is equal to 3,78 liters
And US has cheaper fuel some places, so the cheaper if you’ll get your get your business, if your owner operator as you know which you are and she’s an expensive sport to be in
That really made me chuckle when you were rambling on & Karen says, "Turn left".
Thanks for the view over the hood of a KW again. Did all the route you did but in a 88 W900 . Retired 2018
As a former trucker in the New England/eastern seaboard area, I really enjoy your down to earth videos. So many today are so dramatic about docks, receivers, shippers, when it's all just a part of the life.
Dropping the old Red Green sign off. Love it.
Lol I guess he says the same thing. I wasn't taking it from him though. That's just a general Canadian expression
My name is Paul Martin from Decatur Ga, I have been watching you for a few days, I think you will go far, bless you your wife and your son, stay bless brother I like what you do and say. Paul.
You have the patience of Job! Good on you Trucker Josh. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, a TimPool listener, i listen to him fairly regularly(pretty based), and i live fairly close to where he's based out of.
a lot of times in trucking you have to plan that plans can often change
I'm from Burlington, ON! lol I live in Stoney Creek now but Lived in Burlington for over 30 years. Lots of French speaking people and French signs in Eastern Ontario and Northern Ontario as well. I travel to Eastern Ontario and QC alot for my job and im not bilingual lol it can be difficult.

Hey Josh. Did you notice that you have a black cat peering over your right shoulder at 20.00. Where did it get off?
O my, that’s a lot of empty miles back to Ontario! They couldn’t find you a load on the East coast, that’s not possible.
It’s a small world when a lot of folks recognize Tim’s voice.
Sorry you had to go to Quebec, my heart goes out to you
Josh Champlain New York is about 40 minutes from my house and about 20 minutes from where my sister lives. Probably about as close as you’re ever going to get. The road in the north country are terrible I hope you don’t tire blow hitting a pothole they’re pretty bad. Stay safe.
I managed to get through okay!! 👍🏻
Love your rants, so feel free. LOL. Sorry you had a bit of a grotty day, at least you are safe and sound.
I drive a Daf Xg 480 bhp over here in the Uk and I get 9 or 10 to the imperial gallon!! At around 40t
Always good to be heading back home
HEY MAN....USE THE BALL OF YOUR FOOT WHEN YOU CHECK YOUR TIRES AND YOU CAN GAUGE BY THE SOUND AND VIBRATION OF YOUR TIRE PRESSURE...I USUALLY GET WITHIN TEN POUNDS ALL THE TIME 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks! I usually use a tire pressure gauge for that

Hi Josh. Yes Albany is the capital of New York..Have a good day and evening.Love your videos I Am in Park Ridge IL.near O'Hare Airport.
Spend a year driving out in Canada 🇨🇦 miss the roads and the trucks
WWHHOOO COOL IT ... HAHAHA YOU COOL IT !!!! ( Just kidding ). That's was so funny but true. Karen is giving you reason to RANT. LOVE IT. GREAT VIDEO THX AND SAFE TRAVELS 🙏
I'm with you! Break downs, heavy tows, and expensive service and parts are not more economical than a few extra pennies in fuel!
i believe that rest area in New York where you stopped is called Sloatsburg. I've stopped there many times and broke down there a few...lol !!! Not sure if you're picking up east of Montreal, there's an Irving truck stop in Saint Liboire exit 145

if you're exhausted enough it will happen. a comfy pillow and lights out. but all the other billions reasons still apply so that is a moot point
After the fact now but if you're crossing in Champlain heading to Laprairie, Montreal won't be in the picture. You'll be staying on the South Shore of Montreal.
I always enjoy one of your rants every now and again, Trucker Josh. Drive safely.
That's one of those infamous jug handles I was talking about yesterday in New Jersey. Usually it's for left turns, not right.
I did a bit of team driving back in the day, UK - Greece - Cyprus.
Two day boat trip Greece - Cyprus in the summer, hardly work??
You have to get on well with the other guy though.
Hey Josh.
I agree with you.
If it's not broken don't fix it.
I betcha that $2500 sensor would have saved you 2L of fuel on that fill up!!!! LOL
You are correct, Josh. Albany is the capital of my State of NY. Also Josh, every capital of the US states are located as much as possible in the center of each state

I vote yes on a new truck rant. Sic'em Josh.
I like the old style trucks as much as anyone but aerodynamics seem to be a big part of fuel economy. If you look at trucking solely as a business fuel economy is a major porition of your expense and has a huge impact on your take home pay. Keep up the good work
I'm up for the rant video. Bring it on.
Half of them probably don’t have a fuse in the new trucks have that crazy the idle shut off
That’s the cheap version of the 389 to 589. That’s the new cheap version of the 389 the aerodynamic version same thing with Kenworth with the 990.
Copy that and they both look like crap !
Gosh, where I am in Australia, I’m paying $1.97 per litre atm
I personally hate jersey to go left you have to make a right in some places it so annoying. Just like hate driving in queens and Brooklyn with all the one ways streets
The manufacturers over engineer these things on purpose so you'll have to take it to the dealership to fix it, where they over charge.
Always a great video Josh thanks - interesting to hear your thoughts on todays truck designs - sounds similar to the automotive industry. Cheers
New Jersey loves their round about lol, it seems like they don't like people making right hand turns
I’ve heard of some companies keeping drivers when they’re empty waiting for a reload for three days so he said doesn’t happen where you drive
Just wait for the next Kenworths and Freightliners, they will tell you what to do virtuly self driving.
Went by me Josh! Up off of exit 20 on I 87.
Good luck with your truck ❤🎉

One game bird like a pheasant or duck can take out a 1500.00 headlight or 2500.00 grille and if they're lucky fly away.
from albany to exit 15 on i87 adirondack northway you're in my home radius kind of hoped you were delivering to my job at the start of the ny vids
You drove right past my area…..Glens Falls. NY . I87 exit 19…….welcome
I live in Whitehall originally from Glens Falls.
Not replacing the 389 will prove very dumb. The 579 doesnt count. After they start losing market share I bet you'll hear about a new 399 being developed.
Really enjoy the vlog Josh. Thank you for posting.
I like when Josh sits in his sleeper and talks to us!!
Did you see the black cat at 20.00. looking over Josh's right shoulder.
Unfortunately Josh the W900 is going away also, and it’s not the manufacturers it’s the government forcing their hands, requiring them to only be allowed to manufacture trucks that get a certain minimum of mpg it’s absolutely ridiculous!!
Wont happen.

Approx how much fuel does a truck like your burn in 5 days. US dollars ?
Josh, what app do you use to find the cheapest juice on your route?
Love the content Josh!
My sister lives in Albany NY and that is the capital.
Ya do a rant on the new trucks, make me feel good about my 1985 k100 cabover
Hell yeah Bill, roll that big ol' KW cabover on down the line and be careful out there driver.
New York has crazy fuel taxes as well… You might be better off fueling in Canada… Not quite I’m sure but close.
Yes! To the rant
Dose the company pay repay u for the tolls
I’m for the rant video!

Over engineered over complicated stuff is all over the place and cost time $ and safety !
It's been years since I watched this channel. What happened to Deisel?
He’s retired at home with the family.
What gps do you use?
2024 567s are a sweet truck.thats me.
I would like to hear that rant on new truck because I agree with you They're way over engendered Stay safe
Unmarked Charter Bus from Texas… hmmmmm makes ya wonder who the passengers are 😉😉😉
Hey Josh When you say LTL when you talk about picking up a load what is a LTL Robert J
That is Less Than Truckload. A partial load
Josh, one thing puzzled me. That unmarked tour bus from texas was likely a migrant bus lol
How much does it cost you to wash your truck?
$80-130 USD
YES IT IS
Josh’s CB cord looks like a horseshoe hanging down there the way it does!!
And US has cheaper fuel some places, so the cheaper if you’ll get your get your business, if your owner operator as you know which you are and she’s an expensive sport to be in
