  • This is our demonstation on how to make a D.I.Y quater pipe, 2ft high by 6ft wide. It took about 2 hours to make the ramp and it costs about $250 AUD. We hope you enjoyed this tutorial and the skating.

    Can you tell me the lenght ? The transition seems pretty mellow I'd like to build the same one

      Im making it so it's a 1m platform at the top (about 3 feet if ur American) and 1m for the ramp. It looks about the same as theirs. Then u can make it as steep or mellow as you'd like. I made it have a 1.4m (4.5 foot) radius for the transition

      It took about 2 and a half hours to put togther but about 2 hours to mark and cut everything aswell.

      Sorry I just coppied a pre built quarter that I had. Take a look at these plans and just make it an extra 2 foot wider. Everything else would be the same. diyskate.com/micro_quarter.html

      Na Bunnings ply is terrible and super expensive these days. I got it from a Ply wood supplier in Perth.

      There actually is a way but it involves a little bit of trigonometry. But i noticed in another comment that you used the diy skate plans which uses a 5.5 ft radius. You guys are pretty good if you can skate that. I used that plan too at first and that radius felt whippy af to skate

      @@KC-dg9pu Yeah. I didn't actually use the diy skate plans but I think they are very similar. I traced it off on old quarter pipe which was handy. But I didn't know how to show simply show the measurements of it.

    If you soak the deck wood before installing it it will bend easier and dry in shape, making it easier to keep in shape

    Where did you get those 15mm thick sides from? Did you have to cut them into that shape?

      Just got them from local Hardware store and had to cut them to shape. I filmed the cutting of them and building the whole ramp and all the videos deleted :(. Thanks for subbing.

    Sorry about the end of this video. Something went wrong with the compressing of the file and we lost the last minute of skating on the ramp and airing over it. There was only about 1 minute of the video cut out.

    I did the stupidist thing ever, I made one when i wasn't good at skating and after 6 months I sold it bc is coudn,rt do any trics on it. Now 3 months later I can like skate really good trany. FML

      when you screw in the ramp floor or whatever you wanna call it, it would most likely bend to fit the shape if the nails/screws were close enough to each other.

      Yeah. It's 1800mm long x 250mm wide x 1.5 mm thick. Mine was just in 2 pieces because i couldn't find 1 piece long enough for the whole ramp.

      Marc-Alexandre Prud'homme I’m not sure where you can get it. I live in Australia and got it from my dads mate who works at a steel place. I’m pretty sure we can get it at our hardware stores and there is usually a wider variety in America. Try to find something thicker. And make sure it’s steel. Aluminium will bend really easily.

    Guys! here is a tactic to get alot of money saved with this product, Find your local stoor that would sell all of this stuff like wood, and They will probally have thrown out some of there wood, Making it ideal for skaters to make ramps at a low price!

      60cm (2ft) High but not sure about length because i copied them off of an old one that i built. Sorry. I'll try to find out in a few hours.

    i noticed that the ramp moves a little when you ride it. if you were to put 2x4s on the bottom would that help keep sturdier?

      Use the internet. I don’t know where you live or what places sell that stuff in that particular place. I got it from a random scrap steel yard

    The top frame really should have 2x4 support beams/legs under it, not just a few screws put into the sides

      Sorry. I didn't have any instructions because it was an exact copy of a quarter i had previously built off camera about a year earlier. I don't have the exact measurements of the materials i used either because i just coppied the old one. This video was suppose to be a guideline on how to build it and not so much about the exact sizes of the build. If you use the imperial measurement system then you can go onto diyskate.com and find the exact sizes of materials that you need.
