Official concept art shows these guys without helmets in the background and they have dog heads. Also bloodhound knight’s are rare but they have the most concentration around Mt. Gelmir where there is 3 of them 1 in volcano manor and 2 in Gelmir heroes Grave which makes me think they are connected to rykard.
Is there two in gelmir heroes grave? I mustve missed one. But yeah i totally noticed the dog heads on the concept art but i didnt see it til after so i used it as the thumbnail. i am glad i mentioned "presumable snouts"
@@TheHonoredMadman there’s one that drops armor and Floh, also they are in a lot of magic related places Like the Crystal tunnels, Raya lucaria, the swamp lookout tower and where the corpse has the Eternal darkness and Rennala summons one instead of Blaidd now.
@jashin888 there's a theory that the one locked in the gaol is the failed assassin from the blaidd mask item description. Because blaidd even refers to him as a traitor. So they were not only active during rannis lifetime, but also seem to have some type of allegiance to caria and/or ranni. The fact that they are at Mt. Gelmir could indicate a connection between them ranni and rykard like maybe they were players in the night of blackknives but that's hard to say forsure
Totally missed floh im still kicking myself in the head for forgetting about such a cool lore character, this is why my aldia video is taking so long im making sure i dont forget any little detail to his complicated ass
I think the Bloodhound Knights could be related to Vargram the Raging Wolf in a way, “Vargram aspired to attain the status of a wolf based on the old legend that wolves are shadows of the Empyreans” I believe the Bloodhound Knights are the remnants or decedents of old Shadowbound Beasts like Maliketh and the only thing left ingrained in them is a sense of finding a “Empyrean” (master) and serving them without question
To add to my comment I think the Bloodhound Knights can be traced back to the Crucible times as Floh’s name references a certain geological epochs the Floian period the second stage of the Ordovician. He shares this trait with Darriwil another named Bloodhound Knight and just so happens the Crucible Knights Ordovis and Siluria also fit into this naming convention
The demi human video i said id do almost two years back will be up soon as well but ima try to finish aldia first, i just really wanna make sure i dont leave out any details
@@TheHonoredMadman Lookin forward to that one too. Always had a feelin those "creatures" are way more interesting than most players would think. I'll for sure keep an eye out for that episode, man. In the meantime, take er easy
5:30 that's a great point. Reminds me of when you're in the hidden night city (might be Noxstrella instead) and the red phantom warrior who looks identical to Blaiidd might be exactly what you're referring to. It's like a failsafe program that spawns if an abberation is detected in Blaidd's own coding. This is when you're actively siding with Ranii in her rebellion, as such, this is why the phantom appears That thumbmail art is just terrific also. Your Elden series has all good thumbnails but this one might be my fav so far!
@@Johnny5Star that's an interesting thought. Especially since he has red anime eyes later and when you slay him, you've slain your wolf friend. So Blaidd being able to manifest in different forms definitely has a precedent
there was a theory somewhere out there i don't remember from where that if the bloodhound knights identified their masters via smell that Dariwill didn't intentionally betray ranni. Instead, when ranni cast aside her physical body, she casts aside her scent as well, and with Dariwill no longer being able to smell the scent of her master, he became a master-less bloodhound knight.
I was gonna use the clip of nic cage saying it but i used it in my oracle video so i didnt wanna reuse but i love that movie, probably my second favorite david lynch film
I believe Darywll’s “betrayal” was that he stopped serving Ranni once she slew her flesh. I believe the bloodhounds most likely distiguish their master’s by scent and when Ranni’s body died he no longer recognized his master as living and therefore abandoned his post. I don’t see Darwyll as a traitor I just see him as a loyal hound who thought his master died and couldn’t comprehend a doll as the same master who’s body died. Since they only take one master in their life, he didn’t betray his master, as far as he knows, his master is dead
I recently saw a video of Sotha Sil from Morrowind, and It blew my mind the position he's in and how Marika is found. There is a part where Almalexia said that he did not say a word as he died and it made me think maybe he had his soul in a soul gem already. Kinda random but the way he had a clockwork city that simulated the appearance of a day and night cycle with a false sky created by some illusion, made me think of the design on the preceptors mask. Under brim of the hat it shows a space-time display of their solar system. But if you look at the forehead of the mask, on the forehead is a freaky looking snake like tree, reaching up into the bent part of the hat. If you were looking at this hat like an astronomer or whatever, it would have the freaky tree bending all of space around it, including the orbitals of some of those stars or celestial bodies. It makes me feel like Marika or anyone in control of the ring can do something like change the literal rules of the world like a simulation. I think rite now Radagon got to make the rules and I think he is on the side of beasts and beast related beings that were oppressed by Marika during her rule. There's actually a lot from the tribunal and civil wars going on that remind me of Elden Ring. The one that kills me trying to explain, is where Miquella is becoming a god or w/e. That place is so similar in theme to where Dagoth Ur was creating a new god from old parts of a collapsed empire. But Fromsoft did something really hard for me to explain, but ill give it a shot anyways. Caelid is like a dark lid with aeonia as its center, its heart. Under the dark lid, is a chamber with a new god, surrounded by the collapsed empire of an old god. In that heart chamber is a dagger that can only be wielded by one with destiny, and of moon and stars. Come moon and star, to this place, where destiny is made. Join me in the heart chamber.
hey, not sure if you'll see this, but the type of helmet they wear is indeed real and it's called a "hounskull bascinet" (hound's hood bascinet). I just think it's cool because it fits their dog theme.
Its in a hidden area of gelmir heroes grave you have tro drop down unto some beams after the chariot rolls past, but you gotta be quick and precise, youll get that and the gelmir knight armor
They're like empyrean shadows they choose a master and are loyal to him until death like maliketh or blaidd they just bond with a normal person not an empyrean they just replicate the shadow thing maybe by fanatism or maybe they were created for this exact purpose they're mostly descendant from beastman
I really enjoyed this video! I thought of this theory, it's VERY far-fetched, not based on a lot, and is just for fun, but, what if that Bloodhound Knight in Volcano Manor, is tasked by Rykard, to protect Rya! She's very kind hearted, the most powerful of the Snake-People, because she can transform between Snake and Human form. I like to think that Rya is the daughter of Tanith and Rykard, which would explain her unique abilities, and her social standing within the Manor, so that Bloodhound Knight is there on either Rykard or Tanith's orders to make sure Rya is safe from any cruel Tarnished that may come by the Manor, and either use Rya for their own ends, or, to harm/kill her. I know it's probably not true that Rykard and Tanith are her parents, but, a BIG IF, that would be badass, lore-wise. A daughter of a Demi-God, AND her Grandparents would be Radagon and Rennala! It's very clear that Rykard and Tanith care greatly for her, and try to protect her in their own ways! And that Forgetfulness Potion could be given to Rya, by The Tarnished, during her questline, to forget the truth on how she came to be and what she is. Just a fun theory I got to thinking about, and this vid reminded me of it.
Could the dude in selia have been locked up for having the bloodhound knight bound to him A place that loves invisibility magic doesnt seem like itd make a mage that would want to square up with a bloodhound Also please do the deathclaws from fallout 2 theyre absoulte chads gorris deserves better I love your videos theyre great to smoke to thank you for the content
Yeah thats definitely possible, i mean they trained sorcerer assasisins there as well tho right? I have to double check but i think you make a great point about a bunch of mages who love invisibility hating a guy who had a knight that could probably sniff them out regardless of their magic. And im playing thru fallout 2 for the exact purpose of covering alot of stuff, goris included, i love that guy, and how he got a cameo in Nuka Break was awesome. Now that you mention it i probably will do one on deathclaws in general, thats a great idea
I always wondered why darriwil decided to betray ranni, Maybe it wasnt a betrayal at all and Iji ordered darriwil to lead Blithe on a wild goose chase in order to keep him away from ranni? Who knows! But its interesting at the very least to speculate. Great vid as always madman!

im having a crack pot theory but isnt that double ring sigil a greater will symbol? aren’t oneill and niall former banished knights (farum culture) pressed into service in miquella and malenia’s army? i think these guys are definitely farum / beast related. empyreans have beast knights such as gurranq, and lords seems to have beasts as well with godfrey and serosh. perhaps in the transition between the cultures of farum and leyndell the bloodhound knights were created to serve potential lords. seems like rykard had one, and maybe the one in sellia was gifted by radahn to one of his mates whom he learned sorceries there with. i cant put all of this into words but the swirling lore is all coming together for me along with this bowl, lemme know what yall think
I think so, i cant fully make out the sigil tbh, i meant to put an edit that i might be reaching, but it looked like a dog head or a beast head in aome lights to me, that being said, the barbed ring is the definitely the same as niall and oneills cape but its just got that head(?) In it
