That he may be more misanthropic than I am. The irony being that while I am a misanthrope I do believe in rosseau and have an overall positive view on humanity thanks to the comics I’ve read. “They can be a great people, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good…”
Tom King: "Wonder Woman is too perfect to be interesting." Also Tom King: "The clash of Wonder Woman's desire for peace and the need for her skills as a warrior is really interesting."
1:51 I assume that it’s because Wonder Woman’s history, characters and supporting cast, stories, and continuity have been forgotten, controversial, lesser known, or have been contradicted for several decades.
If I was Tom King I'd be perpetually mad that someone like Maxwell Prince is out there writing something amazing like _Ice Cream Man_ that depresses people in the best way.
“Every time she punches someone, she’s failed”? Didn’t she leave Themyscira because she wanted to fight for Justice and help the people of the world? So basically, every time she punches someone she is doing exactly what she set out to do?
As a big Wonder Woman fan this news has had me a little depressed ever since it was announced. I think Tom Kings story of Diana's daughter in WW 800 is a little preview of the diseaster that is about to happen.
Her daughter somehow managed to be more insufferable than Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 3. I didn't think that was possible. Note to writers: if you write a teenage girl that gives me an overwhelming desire to punch her in the face, you're doing something wrong.
Give it a chance. This has more potential than anything Wonder Woman has had in the last 10 years. Don't get me wrong, it could be bad, but it might not be. It's too early to tell. The potential is there though.
@@VaughnEsper I am going to be checking it out, WW is one of the few comics I havn't stopped collecting YET. Admittedly Tom King can be a good writer, but he shouldn't be writing other people's characters and superimposing his own damage on them. This article just reinforces my skeptism about him taking on WW. and for godsake I hope its a linear story and not one with all the freaking time jumps that he feels he needs to do, whch I doubt because of that wretched story with Diana's bitch of a daughter.
@@verpine He stated in a previous interview that this series wasn't going to be a depressing character deconstruction. He's wanting to write this with a more hopeful / awesome atmosphere, similar to his Superman: Up in the Sky or his Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (I'm guessing that the success of his Supergirl is the reason that DC wanted him to write WW. I think there will be a lot of similarities). I agree about the time jumps. i think his Batman/Catwoman and Killing Time have shown that time-jumps aren't one of his strengths as a writer.
Issue 1 will be pretty good and intriguing, setting up what looks like a promising story moving forward. Issue 2 will feel a little bit "off" compared to the first issue, but it still shows promise With issue 3 you'll start to see a decline in the quality of the writing and the inevitable Tom King self-loathing will start to be on full display. By issue 4 it's full-on Freudian degeneracy mixed with post-modern deconstructionism
By issue #12 the end of the mini-series, the main character is disgraced and humiliated. Replaced by a "better" person for the position, yet nowhere near as interesting. Series ends, all the pieces left broken for other writers to piece back together.
God I hate post modern deconstructionism, sure it was ok the first few years when it was new and offered fresh stories from different perspectives, but after so many decades of deconstructing everything, it just got insufferable. We should be over deconstructionism by now and move on to reconstructing everything that was destroyed in the name of post modernism
Mr. Terrific (Tom Holt) contemplated suicide after the senseless accidental deaths of his wife and child; he found purpose by taking a hands-on role in working to improve the world and protect the most vulnerable (particularly children).
People like to say Wonder Woman is popular and important, but the comics have always sold like shit and the character sucks. She's bee popular in movies and TV for brief periods of time, but she's really a c-lister in the books.
Because she's never had a definitive characterization.Every writer wrote Diana in your personal view. The character changed so many times over the decades that always was a artificial character with a very few traits.DC never understood William Marston real view of the character.
I met Tom King last month. Talked with him at a show after the lines died down, for about ten minutes. I am surprised he ever cancelled anyone online; he was personable, willing to talk, and came off as extremely humble, but also VERY melancholy. Friendly and self-effacing, but with kind of a dim view of the world. Maybe he saw some things to give him that outlook. Or maybe he’s just sad in general. But I do not think he is intentionally tearing characters down with any agenda.
"Relatable". Tired of it. One of the things I loved about DC, and a couple of the Marvel heroes, is that they were these aspirational figures. This is heightened reality. The Trinity are supposed to be a cut above. This doesn't mean they can't have flaws or misbeliefs, but if Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman are interchangeable with any other hero, or civilian, and not on a "pedestal", how special are they? How have they built these legends that loom, and legions of heroes followed? What I love about heroes is that they are not just anybody. In and out of the universe, Wonder Woman is supposed to be special. Batman and Superman are special. You could even toss in a character like Captain America. That's what's great about them. These dullards trying to tear them down is literally tearing down the medium. I don't trust any of the people, to write a compelling hero. Everyone has to be broken and incapable of doing what they once did. Hence why I don't read new comics. Back issues, all the way.
if wonder woman is a rebel and wants to change the world, why her own costume was designed to respect and greet america? she's literally wearing the american flag.
I actually prefer Cloonrad to King. Cloonrad writing is bad but usually they are not hostile to the character (which King almost always is). Kings work dwells in depression and deconstruction… and it’s fairly predictable. I took Wonder Woman off my pull list for the first time in over 25 years due to King writing the series. I didn’t even buy the first issue.
Perverts, failed parents, stalkers and war criminals might be "relatable" for Tom King, but I'm pretty sure most comic readers aren't quite as twisted.
George Perez managed to write a great Wonder Woman for about 5 years, with a story format that could be compact compared to todays single stories that can get dragged out for months, if King has to struggle to write one story for her that respects the character, he should go and do something else.
I’m really happy I’m not a big fan of Wonder Woman because there has been nothing good from this character in years. At least Batman and Superman have had some good to great things. Idk maybe Tom King can somehow pull things together and get something good but I doubt it.
Nothing more relatable then being relieved you wife and unborn child die... I hate Tom King, he's the worst writer because he tricks people. Instead of saying "over there" he says "Look in that direction over to the left of you" and think it makes him sound smart like a collage kid taking a writing class. Want proof he's bad? Name 10, no 5 Batman main run writers who got pulled off for lack of sales since the first run. I'll wait!
Whatever it is that he experienced as an CIA operative, really fucked his mind. Still, not sure all-ages (at least in theory) superhero comics are the ideal vessel to exorcize his personal demons. Go write a novel, Tom King.
Wasn't the concept of Wonder Woman being too perfect already been touched upon back in Infinite Crisis (despite the fact that she was never perfect to begin with)? To be honest, I think the DC writers (from the 2000s to the present) don't know how to handle her character anymore nor the concepts of Greek mythology.
Yes, and she lashed out at Superman after whole snapping of Maxwellord's neck, when he was mind-controlling Superman at the time. Superman was upset at her breaking the no killing rule at the time
@@EvandroACruzHe hates traditional super-hero characters and he also hates traditional super-hero comic books. That's why he thinks of himself as the next Alan Moore. Alan Moore was a deconstructionist and a post-modernist who also hated traditional comics and super-heroes.
The problem is the writer not understanding the character. Poor Diana. Wasn’t azzerrel giving her a dad and a male to look up to in Ares as well as a baby to watch enough to fix Diana..? And Marston, who needs no defending, was one of the first writers to have more control of his creation than most writers today.
I highly recommend "Professor Marston and the Wonder Women" film that was released in 2017. Great insight on how Wonder Woman was created and the controversy surrounding Marston. Why is Frank Miller and Steve Englehart's Batman legendary? Why is John Byrne's Superman categorized as classic? Because they went back to the source material of Bob Kane, Jerry Robinson, Joe Simon and Jerry Siegel to build upon it instead of deconstructing them. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science that the same must be done with Wonder Woman by the man credited in creating the character ---- William Moulton Marston.
...Superman IS "the little guy" inside. That's the point of him as a character. Batman operates OUTSIDE OF THE LAW to fight crime; vigilantism is rebellious at its heart because it is saying that law enforcement, the protectors of the status quo, aren't enough. What the hell.

Hey Wes I want to tell you this. I wish that Mirka Andolfo , Ryan Parrott , Kyle Higgins or Louise Simonson & Walt Simonson would take the reign over Wonder Woman. It's crazy to think that last good WW run was back when Greg Rucka was the writer back when DC Rebirth was a huge deal. Time flies fast I suppose. Other than that , I've recently checked DC's upcoming collected edition for spring of 2024. And I don't know how that happened but I guess someone at DC listened to us but we're finally going to get LOBO Compendium. And that's no ordinary Compendium it's The BIG FRAGGIN' COMPENDIUM vol 1. The details weren't provided as of yet but considering Keith Giffen & Alan Grant (R.I.P) worked on Lobo I can guess that it will feature: -64 issues of Lobo by Alan Grant -Miniseries by both Giffen & Grant -One Shots by Grant -Lobo Unbound by Giffen & Alex Horley -Lobo Highway To Hell by Scott Ian of Anthrax & Sam Keith of THE MAXX (hopefully) There's gonna be compendium vol 2 so i'm guessing will have at least have half of all Lobo comics that were published. Plus that big ass sucker will have 1320 pages of content and it's going to be released on April 2 (a perfect birthday present for me thanks DC).
I honestly don't like Wonder Woman, so I don't care if a feminized man ruins a feminist icon, but even Wonder Woman doesn't deserve the Tom King treatment.
4:07 When Michael Holt learned that his wife was pregnant with their child before she died, he was surprised, and that it explained why he felt so empty (as explained in JSA All Stars comic) before he was legally dead and saw his wife and unborn son (for which he named Terry, after Terry Sloane, the original Mr. Terrific) for a few minutes as shown in a JSA storyline in 2004. If Michael’s wife Paula and son Terry were alive, then he would try and do his best to become a father to Terry Holt, just like he tried and did his best at becoming a husband to his wife Paula.
It's funny Tom King claiming Wonder Woman is a rebel since in almost every story where Superman goes crazy and becomes a dictator she's the first to jump on his fascist bandwagon and is usually his top enforcer. Not very rebel like to me.
Once again, manga beats comics. The problem with so many different writers on the came character is everyone has a different vision of what they think Batman, Spider-Man (and in this case) Wonder Woman are. Tom isn't doing the DC heroes proper, he's doing 'his version' or 'his take' on the DC heroes. Meanwhile in manga, there is only one Ichigo, one Naruto, one Midoriya. Bleach isn't handed off to some other writer to see what they can do with the characters. They're all done by the same person day one.
What your saying no one want a Wonder Woman with Tom King mental health issues? daddy husband Oedipus complex story the same story that Tom King has written over and over and over again from day one.
You just know that King is going to sully her interactions w men, making her look like a you know what. This will trigger online fans and then he’ll have to mansplain his way out of it.
For a channel called "Thinking Critical", this video was really biased and took a lot of what Tom King said and extrapolated it to change it into something else just so you could easily attack it. Honestly, it appeared like you were just looking for ways to criticize King. When King was talking about the kinks in Wonder Womans origins, he's obviously referring to the bondage. Early WW comic books had a ton of bondage in them and it was a key part of the character. That's all he was referring to. There was no insult or "Mansplaining" to Marston. When referring to her failing when she has to punch someone, it obviously means that she believes that she still has a lot of work to do. King knows she's a warrior born. This interview was not that bad, and his Wonder Woman run has a lot of potential. There is more hope for a good Wonder Woman run now then there has been for the last 10 years. Granted, it may fail and turn out to be bad, but there is no reason to think that that'll be the case at the moment. Also, when you talk about Human Target, what you said about Gardner and Manhunter wasn't accurate. Gardner was shown to have been acting that way on purpose as part of a scheme he had going on with Ice. The Manhunter issue was during a mental battle, not reality. He has no fire kink. If you didn't read the series, then you really shouldn't use it as an example, since it's not correct information. It's worth pointing out that King said that this WW run won't be a depressing character deconstruction, but instead a more hopeful story similar to his Superman: Up in the Sky and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Both series show that he can do that type of story, and if he does Wonder Woman in a similar style, then it could be really great. Honestly Wes, I love this channel and you point out so many legitimate problems with the comic book industry, but sometimes you seem to just have a grudge against certain creators and give out biased and inaccurate videos like this, and it really hurts the legitimacy of this channel.
What’s worse are the parrots that just go along and not read the books. I’m not an apologist and can admit when a writer does poor work but not all of his works are bad.
I'd say the trinity is the trinity because they all want to change the status quo It's why Superman is a reporter It's why Batman uses his fortune to help others as Bruce Wayne Creating programs to help victims and foundations in his parents names Wonder woman ESPECIALLY when she was created was all about reform. She carries a lasso because it's far less Lethal, being its power compels a person to tell the truth so she can get to the root of why the person is doing what they are doing and she can help them
To be honest, I have always found the Wonder Woman character a bit boring in terms of story. I mean honestly, when was the last time Wonder Woman was ever interesting outside killing max lord ?
This killing ruined your character, writers since then pushed Diana in a more dark territory like a bloodthisty and violent warrior that don't think twice before killing a foe.Your N52 incarnation was terrible.
He will write her??? Ok,Let me guess Tom will make her has an obsession over a childhood Amazon friend. Who she had her first Lesbian experience and who was presumed dead until now. *dun dun duun* and she'll relate to Jon Kent She’ll come out as trans and will Be an ally for trans everywhere *Big controversial cover page incoming* Anything to be "relatable" 🤡
Wes I'd love to hear your thoughts on Mister Miracle, Omega Men and Vision. Those I thought were good King books. Although Omega Men on reread is a bit to dense.
King trying to kink shame Diana when everything he writes is steeped in his own perverse fantasies is almost as good as him blaming editors for boofing BatCat when he got his editor fired so he could specifically do whatever he wanted on Batman.
I remember early on in King's run on Batman (when he introduced Gotham and Gotham Girl), when Bruce thought he was facing the end and asked Alfred if his murdered parents would have been proud of him; I believe a superior take would have had Bruce ask if he had done right by Damian, Dick, Stephanie, even Jason Todd and the downtrodden of Gotham. That doesn't mean the scar of the childhood trauma isn't still there, but to paraphrase Jack Black in Kung Fu Panda, scars may not heal, but they DO fade.
It’s perfect that Tom King is on Wonder Woman. Why that is? Because Wonder Woman is to Avengers like Avengers were the pre Disassembled era: They were both just on the rack, nobody read it, and nobody talked about it. So this keeps him away from better heroes like Superman, The Flash, and Green Lantern.
That was all John Ridely. I mean who hasn't been a comic book fan and desperately wanted to see a comic where Superman is raped? That was so fucking wrong on so many levels.
I’ll be honest, I really enjoy some of King’s work. As a person though, the virtue signalling cancellation bullshit he pulled on Jae Lee was the act of a horrible piece of shit and I’ve never been able move past it. Thankfully I can separate art from the artist in most cases and I still pick up work of his that appeals to me. I thought Gotham Year One was excellent and I’ve enjoyed a lot of Danger Street. I’ll read this on the app and see how it goes.
He’s not that bad of a writer, some of his stuff gets undeserved hate (though I can admit that Batman/Catwoman is a mess) but a majority of his work especially Supergirl, Human Target and Gotham year one are fantastic. One thing that cannot be argued is that he always has great artists on his work. But you are right though that Jae Lee shite and that fake tough guy act during covid were not cool. Though in his interviews, especially with comic pop his warm, friendly, and self deprecating of his own work.
Ya know Spiderman is my favorite Super hero no cap, however over the years I've learned to really like and appreciate Superman and Wonderwoman along with other DC Characters, so hearing them Completely miss the point over Wonderwoman being one of my favorites kind of sucks, but I have to remember this is modern Comics were talking about.
Sucks because Daniel Sampere is doing the art… I know it’s been said before, but why the hell does Tom King seem to get all the best artist on his crappy storytelling?!?
Because although he may be divisive, his books sell. Tom King is still a big name, so putting him with a great artist is a certain way to boost sales and get attention on a book.
Wes, if you get a couple minutes could you give me the top five things I should have in my pull list? Out of everyone on Social media that review comics and the industry, I have consistently agreed with your reviews the most. Thanks
I really liked parts of Mister Miracle. The text only panels randomly popping up saying only "Darkseid is" was actually a really good way to illustrate what a depressed person feels like.
@@Wes_From_TC Nice, I am partly there. Already been picking up Millar stuff, Energon Universe, Green Lantern. Need to catch up on Worlds Finest. I do have a couple #1’s of that though. Never heard of Rogue Sun, I’ll check it out. I appreciate it man
BTW-I think Tom King CAN be a fine writer; I'm currently very much liking his Love Everlasting over at Image, mainly because it does not involve what almost seems de rigeur for comics writers at DC and Marvel today, which is recrafting characters' personas to fit their own personal stories and preferences.
DC is repeatedly y trying to one up "worst Wonder Woman ever." Dennis O'Neal Jane Bond secret agent held the crown for decades. Then Brian Azzarello hateful, bitter, violent cat lady New 52 took the crown in 2011. Since then DC has been pumping out continual worst runs ever, with the exception of the Greg Rucka Rebirth (which to me is the second best run ever after George Perez.)😂
King truly is the worst writer in comics, no one else has done more damage than him. And every single person involved with giving him writing jobs should be fired and blacklisted.
This is just so backwards. These "writers" need to stop bringing those heroes to our level. They are not supposed to be on it. They are supposed to be above it. To be something to aspire to. Tom King really is a blight upon the comic books and comic book readers.
In a recent interview he said that in the first issue wonder woman won't even appear in the first 17 pages of that issue.. that itself should tell you what to expect.
Wonder Woman was a vehicle for Marston's philosophy toward bondage. The guy is an interesting character, but through it all, he was definitely a feminist. Wonder Woman wasn't just based on hia wife, but a prominent feminist during that time, her name alludes me at the moment. Marston picked H.G. Peters because he didn't just appeal to kids, but also because he did feminist cartoons (not animation) many years prior.
I think Orion's design sucks on the page where Wonder Woman punches him. He supposed to be rough looking which made him insecure about his appearance. He was made to look like some smooth face 20 year old on the page he gets punched.
To be fair, Wonder Woman has been kind of a rebel. She is the only one with the guts to kill if needed, and she has been kicked out of the league for that.
Oh god. There goes Wonder Woman. Why does Tom king get this!? So sick of his character assassinations and gross deconstructions. Though I’d laugh if he one day was on X-men
I was hoping someone decent would take over Wonder Woman. I love that character. But nope... I'll not pick this up. The description from king sounds like he's incapable of writing the character as she was meant to be so he has to make Wonder Woman something she's not. DC keeps putting this untalented writer on characters he's not able to handle.
My problem with tom king is not his writing, its his delusion that the way he writes should be considered normal and his oblivion to why people dont like his style. Zero self awareness is crazy
Quick question Wes you say you served in the armed forces which branch did you serve under? I'm just kind of curious cuz if you did then good for you. On the other side note I do agree with you about this idea of Tom King trying to write Wonder Woman. The reason why I say this because the late Dennis O'Neill (RIP) had done a Wonder Woman story before back in the seventies where she was a super spy and she learn karate after he took away her powers to make her more grounded. One less thing to I want to say is that have you ever read the book Wonder Woman: Earth One? The reason why I ask is because that's probably as close to what the creator of Wonder Woman (William Marston) had in mind when she was first creating her.
I was a big fan of Tom King in the beginning of his DC career. I would read everything and I loved all his mini series . But lately, he has bored me, and I feel all his books are repetitive, and he has way too much writing on each page, lol . I won't be reading Wonder Woman, not even giving it a chance. I will stick with Adam's Green Lantern, which I can't wait to return!
While Is Tom King is gonna continue to be a fool by plague and insert his depression in Comic, I want to focus on the positive side. I saw leaked *concept art of Wonder Woman Video game.* It looks very good. Diana posing as cool hero in Themyscira with An Amazon and Military Tech Solider. I don’t know who the Solider is, I hope Solider could be an original character. It leak cause rumors that the game is open world. And Tom king thinks Diana is too perfect? I think he confusing her to The Current year version of Nubia. 11:45 Wonder Woman been part the Justice Society too in earth 2. 12:05 two versions of Wonder Woman I can think is Frank Miller’s Wonder Woman from all star Batman and Robin and Injustice Wonder Woman where she joins Injustice Superman become a dictator. But most version of Wonder Womans are heroes. 12:57 And Wonder Woman’s Villains would do something like that. Like that justice league cartoon character *Aresia* she literally created a plague to kill all the men population.
Ppl like Tom King litterally destroyed what made Alan Moore in deconstruction so good... HE JUST DECONSTRUCTS AND NEVER RECONSTRUCTS. Thats what made Watchmen cool... At the end, its a kinda thesis of heroism itself. Deconstruction without reconstruction its just destruction. Thats what made Zack Snyder on Superman fail... And this is what make Tom King fail WORSE. Plus i hate how DC doesn't treat Wonder Woman Seriously... She is litterally the devine side of the Trinity, a vital part of that Godlike perspective of the DC mythos. Add wokeness and its dead on arrival. We know heroes are not perfect, but with characters like Wonder Woman or Superman is that we need to comprehend WHY they are heroes...why they are that ideal. Tom King its just an idiot at this point.
If Tom King writes those things to make the characters relatable to him, what does that say about him as a person
Every male character that King writes is a cucked, ineffectual loser that can't do anything right, also known as the Tom King self-insert.
Petty and narrow minded.
One you not want to be around.
That he may be more misanthropic than I am.
The irony being that while I am a misanthrope I do believe in rosseau and have an overall positive view on humanity thanks to the comics I’ve read.
“They can be a great people, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good…”
Tom Queen 😏
I think Tom King projects his own failings on every character he writes for. I fear his mind is truly a mess.
This dude is a very sick person.
Tom King: "Wonder Woman is too perfect to be interesting." Also Tom King: "The clash of Wonder Woman's desire for peace and the need for her skills as a warrior is really interesting."
Dear Marvel, please hire Tom King to do a 50 issue run on Carol Danvers...
Tom king talking about kinks is crazy when so many of his comics include his very obvious kinks.
That's why he's writing it. He's going to add his own through either Batman or Steve Trevor 😂
@@GeekpinEnt I could think of much worse he could do to give Diana a child to be honest lol. I just hope the worst case doesn't happen.

@@VaughnEsper I do hope that it will be good or at the very least inoffensive. I am not cheering for failure, just very skeptical.
Issue 1 will be pretty good and intriguing, setting up what looks like a promising story moving forward.
Issue 2 will feel a little bit "off" compared to the first issue, but it still shows promise
With issue 3 you'll start to see a decline in the quality of the writing and the inevitable Tom King self-loathing will start to be on full display.
By issue 4 it's full-on Freudian degeneracy mixed with post-modern deconstructionism
Ugh, seriously God bless people like Greg Smallwood.
@@Danahell Modern writers don't have a single idea what true heroism is are
Man that's exactly how Human Target went for me. I loved the first couple of issues, by the time they murder Guy I gave up.
I hope he doesn't give Diana a "Daddy-husband" like he gave Batman a "Mommy-wife."
His Batman run was some of the worst I've ever read, I didn't keep those comics. My heart sunk when I heard he was taking over WW.
You need to see the movie “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women”. It’s really interesting.
It's not Wonder Woman, it's PERFECT WOMAN.
Tom King is a creep
Every imperfection of the character he writes is a negative on himself
I'll wait!
So sick of entitled writers deciding the best thing for a character is to fundamentally change them. /golfclap
I look at his comments on Wonder Woman as trashing previous writers before him.
Wonder Woman, as a Amazon delivery person, promises fans' comics will be delivered via Invisible Jet right to your front door.
Superman was upset at her breaking the no killing rule at the time
Off topic but I like the Thinking Critical logo. Looks like something from World of Warcraft.
Tom King is a comic book character assassin. No hero too big or too good to be brought down by him.
Poor Diana, you're next.
🥺
Tom King hates classic heroism.

The details weren't provided as of yet but considering Keith Giffen & Alan Grant (R.I.P) worked on Lobo I can guess that it will feature:
-64 issues of Lobo by Alan Grant
-Miniseries by both Giffen & Grant
-One Shots by Grant
-Lobo Unbound by Giffen & Alex Horley
-Lobo Highway To Hell by Scott Ian of Anthrax & Sam Keith of THE MAXX (hopefully)
There's gonna be compendium vol 2 so i'm guessing will have at least have half of all Lobo comics that were published.
Because Injustice s very poorly written.Almost all JLA members supporting Superman regime is stupid and non sense in many levels.
Honestly that's the beauty of comics though that if you don't enjoy a run someone may come in and change it.
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Pretty much what's happening to American entertainment at the moment.
This is a HARD PASS!
I'd say the trinity is the trinity because they all want to change the status quo
It's why Superman is a reporter
It's why Batman uses his fortune to help others as Bruce Wayne
Creating programs to help victims and foundations in his parents names
Wonder woman ESPECIALLY when she was created was all about reform. She carries a lasso because it's far less Lethal, being its power compels a person to tell the truth so she can get to the root of why the person is doing what they are doing and she can help them
Although Tom King’s Wonder Woman run might improve over the Cloonrad run, it might be an okay book.
Other people Stuff..bro u r soooo right
Man i can't believe I used to like this guy during the days of The Vision. I got fucking played.
Ok,Let me guess
Tom will make her has an obsession
over a childhood Amazon friend.
Who she had her first Lesbian
experience and who was presumed
dead until now. *dun dun duun*
and she'll relate to Jon Kent
She’ll come out as trans and will
Be an ally for trans everywhere
*Big controversial cover page incoming*
Anything to be "relatable" 🤡
Imagine wanting to Marvel-flaw Wonder Woman FFS, this garbage is not my DC.
Wes I'd love to hear your thoughts on Mister Miracle, Omega Men and Vision. Those I thought were good King books. Although Omega Men on reread is a bit to dense.
Hopefully the run of Tom King will be short on Wonder Woman
The only thing you can say about Tom King was he was not the one who went and had superman sodomised in a prison, or did Tom King help with the idea?
That was all John Ridely. I mean who hasn't been a comic book fan and desperately wanted to see a comic where Superman is raped?
That was so fucking wrong on so many levels.
It starts next month
As soon as King says Wonder Woman doesn't want to be a superhero I'm seeing another Jon Kent. No more villains just social justice issues.
Batman/Superman Worlds Finest, Green Lantern, everything from Millarworld, Rogue Sun & Void Rivals.
@@Wes_From_TC Nice, I am partly there. Already been picking up Millar stuff, Energon Universe, Green Lantern. Need to catch up on Worlds Finest. I do have a couple #1’s of that though. Never heard of Rogue Sun, I’ll check it out.
I appreciate it man
Don’t forget that Supergirl True Grit tip off
I think it means the whole "getting tied up by a man" weakness WW had in the golden age and the bondage stuff you mentioned.
But Wes what about Bane? Didn't we need to see his perfect naked body? Twice. Especially while sparring with a old man.
Tom King is clear that "special person", who look at all of the
facts and immediately jump to the wrong conclusion, every single time.
DC is repeatedly y trying to one up "worst Wonder Woman ever."
Dennis O'Neal Jane Bond secret agent held the crown for decades. Then Brian Azzarello hateful, bitter, violent cat lady New 52 took the crown in 2011. Since then DC has been pumping out continual worst runs ever, with the exception of the Greg Rucka Rebirth (which to me is the second best run ever after George Perez.)😂
Perez is good but I think both of Rucka's runs on Wonder Woman have been excellent.
omg. that opening line about diana being perfect is as big of a red flag as possible
How good do you think it would be if w. maxwell prince wrote Superman ?
Tom King = King Nothing.
I think Tom King should write a comic about Kevin Hawkins (Wildstorm Universe) because his personality is the same as that character.
Please don't compare king's kinks to Kev's kinks.
@@amanzeihediohaI'm just saying that he could only write that character because he doesn't look for perfection
Is Tom King going to make Wonder woman a lesbian next?
Any suggestions of some good booze? I'm not much of a drinker...and Tom King writes the same tropes over and over. You can make a drinking game of it.
In a recent interview he said that in the first issue wonder woman won't even appear in the first 17 pages of that issue.. that itself should tell you what to expect.
He wasn't a feminist. He was into bondage and being dominated. Early issues of Wonder Woman involved her either being tied or chained up.
7th grade alan moore is spot on
I think Orion's design sucks on the page where Wonder Woman punches him. He supposed to be rough looking which made him insecure about his appearance. He was made to look like some smooth face 20 year old on the page he gets punched.
6:25 Wes is Wonder Woman
Tom King, a smug manipulative supervillain in DC comics universe, making heroes do evil or stupidity for his lols
I swear Tom King is Homelander without the powers. Got milk 🥛 Tom?
To be fair, Wonder Woman has been kind of a rebel. She is the only one with the guts to kill if needed, and she has been kicked out of the league for that.
Oh god. There goes Wonder Woman. Why does Tom king get this!? So sick of his character assassinations and gross deconstructions. Though I’d laugh if he one day was on X-men
Thanks for the video Wes. I am a sucker and will still buy it. 😜 Maybe Wonder Woman will be allergic to puppies to make her more relatable?🤷
O" Neal run is very bad.Grounded WW is not WW.
@@EvandroACruz Exactly, in one interview even he stated that he regreted that decision and quickly gave her powers back after words.
I'm retired Air Force.
@@Wes_From_TC Thank you for your service ❤👏.
you know maybe tom king just doesn't want to write about his experiences in the cia anymore.
I love Wonder Woman. I also love the number: 69. ;-)
