I always prefer Trossard to come on in the second half and do his things when others are weak/tired. I don't think he has the strength to run up the flank defensively and attack at the same time the way Martinelli and Saka does.

But I will bank on Trossard to come in as a substitute and win the game for us than for him to start the game and we now remove him and bring on someone else when we need to win a game. With the current squad, Trossard is the guy who gives me hope on the bench when the game is not going the way we want.

Edit: All I'm saying is: Trossard should be starting most of matches because he's more capable of bringing in goals & assists. look at Wolves and last season games, Martinelli makes poor decisions in the final third, has speed and best take ons, but Trossard in the box is a threat.

Morgan Rogers is playing in the 10 and he has been electric for us and his link up play has also been impressive. Pau Torres is immense and his passing is what starts a lot of Villas progress through the channels and we can bring on maatsen, JJ's fit after missing most of last season and Jhon Duran who all combined to nail the coffin of West Ham

Troussard should not be considered as the best "12th man". The man is quality and should be starting over Martinelli especially the way Aston Villa like to counter teams.
When it's an organized team particularly at the back, I'd pick Trossard because of his high IQ and vision. If it's teams that are more open and are playing higher up and more aggressive, I'd pick Martinelli as he'd be more effective on the counter also as well as finding through the gaps. Its a beautiful problem to have as an Arsenal fan.

Emery will always put the Prem position ahead of Champions League so when people say Villa will not get top 4 are missing that main point. Villa will play 8 game in the CL and benefit from that revenue even if we lose every game, thats the business side that reflects the expectation. Main aim will be to get as many points from the likes of Arsenal and Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea as possible. So, Saturday is massive for Villa as well as Arsenal. We have home advantage. Villa have a better starting 11 this season and a much stronger bench. We have a better front line and the signings have given us different ways of play. Leo needs to start this one. After the 2nd half of last season that he had it is extremely unfair to drop him and you're being extremely biased if you think Gabi should start. He's been given the minutes in pre season and against Wolves to show signs of revival but unfortunately he hasn't looked any different from last season. He could've easily cut back for Rice in the last game but instead shot straight at the keeper. Admittedly, it was 2-0 at that point so he can be excused for going for it himself but Leo has MUCH better decision making than him and finishing. Sadly I don't think we see Gabi improve until a left footed player plays in the left #8 and for the games its going to be Declan starting there, Leo has to start LW
