    Beware of that new (oldstock) carb, after 30+ years, all the gaskets on the inside very well might be dried out, so you still might have to rebuild that carb as well.

    Elliott I'm going to tell you something as someone who is a lot like you. You need to stop waiting till you have every part replaced to ride this thing. Get it running, get it safe and get it on the road. Everything left to be done can be done in between riding it. Go enjoy it man. One of my favorite mottos is "Don't get it right, just get it running."

      I hope he rides it. I'm worried after spending so long making it shiny he'll never sit on it for fear of scuffs. Give it a spray to stop the rust and send it down the road! It'll almost certainly end up on its side at some point haha

    Probably the best purchase out of the whole lot would be the carb. Personally I would have opened up the new old stock carb and replaced all the O rings and gaskets. Because despite being new, they're probably no good from age. Especially the gasket behind the petcock.

    Doubt even Honda themselves have one with completely genuine parts. My bikes never had only original parts. Otherwise i would never be done with them.

    Elliot is such a nice and chill dude, I'd watch him do his taxes, for real.
    I came for the Gameboys and now I watch him repair a bike and assemble some watches. I have zero interest in bikes and watches, but I will watch it because it is a video from Elliot.

    Nobody here knows that before he was REPLACING every part, he actual did Ultrasonic clean the bolts and such... Also I dont think everyone knows what happened to this bike and why it needs to be replaced not just fixed up. Its an art piece & project not just some restomod.

    Motorcycle builds, watch mods, retro consoles...is there a more perfect channel?! Have you consider restoring some of the parts? Like that bracket or rear axle, with a few tools you could make them look new and it would be entertaining content. E.g. Delboy's Garage (among many others) videos are very helpful to learn how to get old parts shine again.

    I can't imagine why someone would have issue with replacement of a carburetor that is that gummed up. Can it be cleaned? Yes, will it work as efficiently as a new one absolutely not. This is the right call

    Excellent video as always Elliot, that little C90 has come a long way since the start! Looking forward to seeing the final product. On a side note, that Peugot bicycle in the background, do you have the name or model name for it, I swear it looks exactly like the one my dad had back when I was a kid and I always thought it looked really cool but have never been able to find it.

    You know you can just remove the rust from the bolts right? There isn’t a need to replace them. Steel wool or sand paper is a lot better than buying something to replace a part that is still fine. You do you but a lot of your parts could just be restored and you’d be riding a lot sooner

  • @MichaelBritt23
    @MichaelBritt23 3 місяці тому

    I think the parts you replaced because of fire damage or sea water damage, you should keep and make a display above the bike to show it's history.
