Super helpful. Honestly think this should be taught in schools one day a year. Same with tax. We have to rely on our parents to teach us and not everyone’s parents know how to manage their money. Great content!
A personal tip to help save costs, regarding the eating out for lunches (maybe on work breaks etc) is batch cooking. I have a nasty habit of buying a sandwich on shift (work in retail) for my break, its about £2-£2.50 every shift im spending on that sandwich. When i do batch cook i can get 4-5 meals for less than a £1 each. Not only is it cheaper its healthier and gives me more enegery to finish the shift than a sandwich. Would highly recommend for people who do shift work!
Yes I know someone who does shift work who does that. Although £2 for a sandwich isn't bad - where I live the cost is £3-5
Top tip don't take out multiple loans and gamble i learnt the hard way!!!!
Great content.
For years I struggled with outstanding debts, bills and my children's school fees. I am a banker earning $2,500. However I spend almost $800 taking care of the family's needs and the kids. however I am starting to travel towards the end of summer. I was at a point where I wanted to give up. I came across every UA-cam channel about how to make and multiply your income through passive income. Fortunately, I had saved some money and decided to start an investment, Now I have bought my second house already, earn on a monthly through passive income and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that doesn’t believe in investing..
How possible please?
@@paigehuston2060 Thanks Paige. Please how can I communicate with her?
@@stephaniejose5565 She is easy to find , make a quick research of her on the internet with her name Alexandra Diana Jose . She works with anyone independent of their location.
When it comes to investment, diversification is key. Also have my interest set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. do not invest all your money in a particular sector. diversifying across different sectors is the way to go..
Wish hsbc did this round up feature
I always had coffee at work so didn’t have to buy. Also I used to take lunch from home and only occasionally buy at work. In addition I have always been saving to my workplace pensions and have been doing so for 30 years now since my first job. It is not hard to do these simple steps that’s why I plan to retire 10 years before state pension comes in.
It's good to have a workplace pension
Which big banks have this save as you spend feature 🤔
Lloyds.
My income is like £400 a month. How am I supposed to save and survive?
Depends on your expenses, I’m 16 and earn £400 a month but don’t really have to spend anything so I can save like £350 a month:
@@k3nz1e73 I'm 23 and live in a homeless hostel. Although my rent isn't much while I live here, it's the cost of food that's gone up so much. I quit smoking cigs, maybe buy bud a couple of times a month when I go to friends house. I barely have any clothes so wear the same clothes all the time and my shoes have holes in them. I've been wearing the same shoes for more than two years. Life is getting really hard and I don't have any contact with any family so no financial support from them.
@aykut3158 Hopefully your situation has changed but I'd recommend focusing on changing your situation rn by seeking government-funded education opportunities, there are some charity shops that offer free/extremely low cost clothing to protect your feet and don't worry right now if you can't save anything, just focus on survival
Hi my name is fudge I started doing all this years ago but it nice to know that I’m not the only one that does this I think every one should do this so they can have more money for them selfs and not steal or scrage of others I spend my savings on my self every day and I love it o and my bungalow
How to save is really by absolutely cold turkey with your money. Stop any distraction or boredom spending. Take cash out for food and give yourself an allowance. Only keep in your current account the money for direct debits and open a no access savings account if you have problems with dipping in to your money. Don’t give yourself access to your money unless you’ve thought about and planned for your life or month etc. it will work. Good luck. Don’t give into temptation. Don’t use credit cards.
You must spend like 20k to have 5 grand savings from a roundup lol
I bet your one of them scammers
Piss off
I now need to get my money work for me I feel like my money doesn't work for me it's crazy
Great video Matt 👍
Thanks Sanja!
That £5k is an average as you say, I hate average figures when dealing with money analysis. The mean would give you a very different annual savings figure
The mean value is the average amount. Do you mean the mode, which is the most common amount?
Yet your sharing an American source/article for your “paycheck to paycheck”.
Great video, Matt Brighton! Thank you for sharing this informative content with us❗💲💰💲
Useful and to the point, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
In terms of the lifestyle creep sometimes finance a car can better and help you save more
I mean if your applying the knowledge from the video and save a fixed amount when your paid then yes it could
if average 'change' is 1p because most items are 99p it would mean you would have to buy 1million items of just 99p to save £10k in a year
good luck with that
cheapest item is a 19p spaghetti hoops
id need to buy 8100 tins of spaghetti hoops individually to save £10k
that means each day going upto the cashier desk with one tin of hoops. 22 times a day
sorry but that 'change' tip wont get you £10k
No but every penny helps u get there that’s the point, you save pounds and that saves pennies all together it makes 10k
Amazing tips will be using these in the future for sure.
Get saving! 😀
Great video Matt! Really helpful tips for saving with the salary you already have 👌
Glad it was helpful!
Nice one Matt! It is about being disciplined with yourself and saying no to the extra cup of coffee that you don't even need ;)
I really like this, 'being disciplined' definitely a great way to describe it!
Hey Matt, you're good at explaining the basics but you should warn people for the changing times. These basics can change soon. There's a high chance of a lost decade(s) with very low returns if any. Also the very likely stockmarket crash in the near future.
Something is definitely on the horizon, we’re in this weird lagging period until we start to see clear direction 😬
Interesting tips! Rounding up & lifestyle creep are ones that I really need to pay attention to 😬
Probably the ones that I need to focus on better as well!
Says bread and milk is expensive. Turns off video
Really good advice.
Glad it was helpful!
How long did it take you to get up to £5,000 just by saving pennies? 😂
If you like women also don't even think to save money .
@Hassanlive2050
Not all women are the same. You just have to find one that is mature, and I don’t mean old.
£340 a month on coffee and lunch?! 😁 That's 75% of our family food budget for the month 😊
London prices 😬 thankfully working fully remote now so that has dropped to next to nothing
Many people don't realize how much money they can save by working remotely.😅
