Animalic notes can be expressed way too heavily....or they can be expressed just right and really make the fragrance. I would never say that 'it's a good thing that the animalic note doesn't come out'. Someone who is not familiar with animalic notes, whether civet in this case or castoreum or synthetics or other, may incorrectly assume that any animalic note is a bad thing. Listening to your presentation it kinda begs the question, why would they put an animalic note in the fragrance? I think the house of Amouage more often than not knows what it is doing, whether creating a fragrance that might happen to have wide appeal, or offering something unique that is readily recognized as being complex, well made, pleasing, and definitely interesting.

You're right. Animalic can be interpreted in many ways. Some find it sexy, some find it sensual. It can give character to the perfume as well.
What your opinion about opus 3 ?
It has a classic vibe of perfumery with lots of myrrh. Very elegant. I love it.
