*FIX* No sound on media playback on Android box/ Kodi

- My Android box developed a problem with audio playback on media from Kodi and other 3rd party Apps. Simple fix in audio menu sorted it for me.

BRO!!!!!!! I am using a much different interface and newer Android version. But this still works for me!!!
The strange thing is, all 9f my "multi channel" output (7.1 DTS or Dolby Digital) worked just fine. Only 2.0 channels stopped playing??? This completely fixed it. You are my hero!!! 👍🏽👍🏽

Thanks. It worked. My M9X box menu was a little different and my volume was already all the way up. I pushed all sound bars fully right, and the sound returned!
If you have a full android setup and you're using Kodi as Android APK you can also do it through the Android settings just like you were on a phone or even if you are on your phone worked perfectly thanks man such a simple fixed but the last thing you think about when you have no sound

my setup was a little different but still found it and my problem was the same, volume was all the way down (also happened on its own). Thank You!!!!

Thanks, Richard. It took a bit of navigating through various audio related sections, but was able to implement your suggestion. What is puzzling is what caused the media audio level to fall back to 0. Thanks again, mate ... excellent!

I just got home from work, right? And had it paused on John Wick 3. So I go to play the movie and there was no volume. Now note I am using the MXQ PRO 4K Android Box and most of the stuff that I have clicked on for video tutorials and such was completely different then what these guys had. So I did the turn off/unplug tv thing, system settings under volume, turned up/down the volume, optimized/fixed/best by and confingurations, mute cody thing with the red no volume signal and the HDMI switcheroo...none of these worked. Finally I solved my issue by myself, I am using the mini LED keyboard and I decided to click CTRL ALT & DEL it restarted my android box and BOOM sound worked again. Now I encourage anyone who uses my advice to save your self some headaches and back up and restore your apps and KODI so you dont lose anything just to be safe. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have no idea where I could ask this question. The place we bought the box from is out of business and the number on the box is not in service. Hopefully someone can help....we have had very few issues with our Kodi until about 2 weeks ago when it started acting up. Now. When we are in the menu with the movies (genre, year, people watching, etc.), we click on (let's just say) People watching. It just says "working" for a second and then goes away. It does thus for all of the choices except search. I am not very computer literate so I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Any clue?

Same thing happened to me, nothing had changed. The sound worked fine yesterday, but turned the box on this morning and no sound. I have spent over 3 hours looking for fixes. I've reinstalled everything and it's been very frustrating.

I do not have advanced setting in my audio. I also posted a video with my problem.
When I start up the box. And open video on kodi UA-cam every other app there is no sound.
When I switch to a different hdmi channel and switch back on my tv . I got sound
when I go to a different video. My sound is gone again and need to switch my channel again an back and audio is back again

hances are that your sound is just fine. It is off because you SET it that way. There are TWO volume controls to your M8S box, although I wonder why that is. It only adds confusion. In any case, the first control is your TV volume and the second is that on the M8S itself. If any ONE of these two is turned down, then you will have no volume. The control over your TV volume is on your TV remote, and the control over the M8S volume is on the M8S remote. Be sure that the M8S volume is full on, if you want to control the volume with your TV remote. So, just turn up the sound using you M8S remote and your sound will return.
This does not work for the T95Z plus android box. The screens are totally different and there is no advance settings etc…. We have been without sound for 2 weeks now.
