@@matteobarison3374well but djokovic has already won a slam at 20 in the era of peak Federer and Nadal. Sinner at 22 hasn't done something similar. Also Djokovic's physical resilience consistency improvement was down to finding out about his diet. (His serve was improved mainly on the tennis side in late 2010 as he was hitting a high percentage of DF's and general bad accuracy). Not seeing a similar situation here overall.

Shelton only won 50% of the net points in this match. He has good hands, but can’t rush to the net against someone like Sinner unless he plays a really good approach shot to get the opponent out of balance. Sinner is too good at passing shots and Shelton often gave him enough time to execute them. Rushing to the net without proper point construction was not the right tactic in this match.

I'm always cheering for Sinner, I think he's amazing!!! However, you can really see how much Ben's level has improved since Shanghai. I mean, we all know his story. Good in his two grand slams (AO and US Open), but miserable on the ATP tour, which is just unacceptable for a top-ranked player and goes to show how mere ranking points and the number beside one's name can be deceiving in terms of a player's absolute skill-level. However, now, he's serving at a more consistent level, but also backing those serves up with some great groundstrokes! He got beaten here, but it was a close match against the number four. Good angles, good dictation from the net, etc... You know, it wasn't a cakewalk in Tokyo. He really deserved that title and I wish him lots of luck in years to come😉

Honestly he just needs to go into training. Add more variation to the 1st serve. Improve 2nd serve so less double faults. Improve forehand consistency. Improve foot speed. He's got potential to be #1 if he wants.

Shelton won when Sinner was tired from having won Beijing 500. Sinner won when Shelton was tired from winning Tokyo 500. They have yet to face off against each other with both at full power. Match fatigue is real. You can't win everything. This just gives Shelton more time to rest up for Paris & Next Gen finals.

Ruud has been handing out Top 10 wins like candy to plenty of guys in the 50 to 100 range in the and beyond in the last year. Tiafoe .... doesn't have a single Top 10 win in the whole of 2023! both about as notable as your dumbo post mate!
