I'm loving all the Genesis revisiting Steve has done over the last years. Brilliant stuff. A lot of his solo work is pretty damn good too. More power to you Steve from an old but still fanatical follower. Thanks for all your wonderful work.
I yell "Thank you Steve" whenever I see him on the cruise ships - I think I freak him out, but I mean it. He is all over the soundtrack of my life. So...... THANK YOU STEVE!!!!
I just wanna say that the Genesis records where Steve Hackett appears are the best of their entire discography. He was a hero of mine when I was learning guitar in the late 1970s-early 1980s.. His solo in "The musical box" out of "Genesis live" was my benchmark for guitar excellency. And he is still a giant of the instrument.
I like the Mellotron sound better than orchestra because Mellotron has a unique sound. Saw Foxtrot at 50 on 13 September in Aylesbury and it was great.
Steve Hackett is without a doubt the greatest guitarist on this rock we call Earth. Just listen to his work. He can and does play any style any genre, from soft delicate acoustic to rip your heart out rock. He is prolific, with a massive amount of original work, as well as keeping "the real Genesis" alive. He is brave yet sensitive. If you are lucky enough to see him live....you will be changed forever. He's more than Progrock- father... he is a guitar God! I have a six CD changer in my car, it's all Hackett and I havent listened to anything else for over the last six or seven years. I love him....Mellotron's forever!
@@ClareCareMusicandTV Thank you for your kind words about Steve Hackett. I have been lucky enough to see him several times live. His LP 's Wolflight and Night Siren are guitar heaven. His playing is unmatched by any so called "guitar heros". No one can come close to Steve's virtuosity and classical training. I saw him many times with Genesis and Steve Howe. Fantastic!
Well if you don't listen to anything else then how would you know? Greatest guitarist rankings are nonsensical. There are MILLIONS of guitarists and at least thousands of great ones. ANY guitarist will be embarassed by being called teh greatest. But there's no doubt, he covers a wide variety and is up there. But Lindsay Buckingham has done that as well as have a NUMBER of other players. There is nothing wrong with just saying "this is good stuff and I really like it". When you say they are the greatest what you are doing is trying to elevate your own taste over others. Steve Howe, another guy, I could go on, but why? I still don't know or want to know whether it was Steves bit or Mikes bit on Aisle of Plenty but that is one of my all time favourite pieces, beyond simple and yet so well done.
@@mikearchibald744 Thanks Mike, your right, but please let me have MY favorite GTRist. Steve Howe, Anthony Phillips, Mike Oldfield, are amazing as well.
@@johnruth2668 Amen. Mike Oldfield and some others always had trouble because they were so prolific musically it was hard to come up with THAT many songs. I think he had good ideas where he had an instrumental side of an album and song side. I'm trying to remember the GTR track that Steve plays that I loved a lot, somethig about sunshine, I can't remember I haven't heard it in a long time. It was weird to see both him and Howe in ONE band.
There's an excellent excuse for a whole load of 50 years gigs. Live at 50. Selling England at 50, Lamb at 50, Trick at 50, etc until 2027. Steve's meal ticket if he wants to do it.
Maybe change Date on "Get them out by Friday" -- "9 SEPTEMBER 2012 T.V. FLASH ON ALL DIAL-A-PROGRAM SERVICES"? (joke) Nicely Done Steve on all the revisit to Genesis.
My wife and got to see Steve (again) just a week or so back on this current tour. No Amanda at this one, so a cut down version of ‘Hierophant’ was done, there was still no mistaking the thunderous build towards the end though; fair shook the building it did. Should you ever get the chance to ask, I’d love to know which model Engl amps he’s replaced the old Marshall’s with - no matter how many videos I watch, I still can’t quite make them out.
He's the great spirit of Harmony and perfection 💖
He is indeed Susanna!

11:31 At the end of the 13 September Aylesbury gig, my seat neighbour exclaimed The drummer really beat the sh*t out of those drums!"🤣😊 And he had!

That will surely be fantastic in Milan! Thanks for watching Maurizio! 🙏
If I recall, Supper's Ready was usually at #2 on the Friday Rock Show top 10 songs played every year by Tommy Vance. That's the first time I heard it.

Enjoyed the interview clare, just had a look a Steve's hard work with consistent solo album releases, lots of albums to his name.
Hi Chris, yes he has a huge solo back catalogue. Such a talented guy. He is magical! Thanks for watching.

Sounds like an amazing gig.
Just a shame Steve wasn't involved with trespass as I'd love to hear that album live.
can utility has the most powerful song ending in all of rock music!
maybe he will do in the skeleton gallery
Please!!!! NO SAXOPHONE!!!
How about a nice clarinet?
