    Hello! I think we briefly spoke a few times last year with regards to my search on a washing machine / tumble dryer (tumble dryer especially!), I just couldn’t make my mind up. I couldn’t even tell you the hours I’d put into researching both, the brands, the benefits of a heat pump vs a condenser, etc.
    I believe you’re the one that eventually swayed my decision on a condenser from a conversation we had. I line dry my clothes (which I believe you said you do too :) ), tumble drying for me is - quite literally, at the end of the drying process before folding and putting away, just to take away any potential damp areas, or the fluff towels up (since you shouldn’t use fabric softener with towels as it impacts the absorbency!) I’m also disabled, & during winter I benefit from popping a blanket in for 5 minutes and wrapping around me.
    It didn’t make any sense to spend all of that additional money on a heat pump tumble dryer when I would never ever put wet washing into it. I didn’t like the concept of not being able to time it myself, it just felt very ‘Americanised’ of companies to think we wash our belongings and then dump them straight into the tumble dryer when the majority of households line / air dry!
    I decided on this exact machine, and it was out of stock everywhere! I paid for it and waited for it to come back on AO. Perhaps that shows just how popular the turn & go dryers still are. I am slightly concerned however they’re being phased out with how few I saw on the market? Do you think this is the case? I really hope not!
    Having said that, I think my Indesit will last me a long time. You reminded me to check the water, barely a dribble came out and I’ve used it several times so far! Really lovely and simple piece of equipment that I hope will see me for many years to come :)
    Many thanks for the review and advice!
    Laura

    Well done mate. I think I will actually buy one after watching your video. I was a bit sceptical but you've showed me all aspects

    Thank you for that run through, well presented. Seems a fairly simple machine and I've just picked one up from my local electrical shop. Luckily I was in the room this morning when the old one stopped then within 10-15 seconds started smoking very badly, soon had it thrown outside! All the best.

      That's good you were there when the old dryer started smoking. Hope you have more luck with the new dryer going forward.

    I bet these kind of mechanical have less things to go wrong with and its a easy dryer to fix as well

    Hello there, as you asked for feedback this is what I think. This dryer is quieter than the previous model and is very user friendly, yes even I can operate it! There are only a couple of things I've noticed, this is the first time we've had a door that opens to the right, every other I've had has opened left. The filter is only slightly less simple to clean, I clean it after every load. The filter on the previous Indesit model was one sided, however there may have been a redesign to stop more debris reaching the condenser unit. It's still easy enough and only takes a few seconds, but you have to make sure this one is seated correctly where the one sided one dropped into place more readily. There is only one thing that is not as good as the previous model and that's the water container, previous model had the hole right in the corner with an air hole on opposite side, this one has it's hole and breather incorporated and it's not quite in the corner meaning there's always a couple of spoonful's left in it, not a problem but it just bugs me. Overall very happy with it, easy use, quiet with fast drying times (5 bath towels takes 80 minutes straight from washing machine) price was acceptable, we could have bought it cheaper at a large store but out here when a family electrical store and repairer is only 15 minutes away that's worth it to us. Thank you for the previous response. All the best. P.S. Forgot to add, a benefit of a condenser dryer is during droughts you can let the water cool down and empty it onto your plants outside! 👍😁

      Hi. Just wanted to let you know not to use that water for plants. From dryer or dehumidifier. There are residues and mechanical oils in it. One time won't kill your plants but in the long term it would accumulate in soil.

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  11 місяців тому +2

      You will find most dryers now are single direction only which can cause an issue with some large sheets. Normally on these dryers the paddles are bigger to try and rotate the clothes in the drum but on large sheets it is quite difficult to do that so may just be a case of pausing the program to untangle the sheet part way through then carrying on with the load.

    You should probably suggest a "clean, dry paintbrush" rather than an old one. I can see someone with a rock hard brush covered in 2 year old gloss trying to clean the condensor😜great demo as always.

    A lot of reviews on this machine say it's difficult to get the condenser unit back in after removing it for cleaning. Apparently some rubber or plastic strip on the back needs to be. bent inwards or something to that effect, I am currently looking to buy a dryer and was considering this one but the problematic retuning of the condenser unit is putting me off. I'd personally find that a annoying.

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  9 місяців тому +1

      Physically it can do, but it would normally need connecting to the washer or worktop somehow rather than the dryer just sitting on the washer, so that when it is drying, it is not moving around

      They can be a little stiff sometimes to get back in, but it should just slot back in. just make sure nothing has been damaged when the condenser unit has come out, and i know it sounds obvious but make sure it is the correct way up.

    Does it have a vent or can it be put in a cupboard?

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  8 місяців тому

      This dryer doesn't have an external vent , if you wanted the air to exit the machine through a vent hose you would need to purchase a vented tumble dryer. I wouldn't recommend putting the dryer in a cupboard as the air from the front of the dryer will not have anywhere to go and will damage the dryer long term and will cause moisture buildup in the cupboard area. If you wanted it in a cupboard i would look for an integrated dryer.

      If it is the condenser unit you are talking about, then make sure the tabs are in the correct position and it is fully lined up. It can be quite awkward if these are not in place before trying to push it in.

      @@annharrison8873 Hello there, they can be very difficult to get into place the first few times, I find that a low angle of attack works best so get down onto one knee or both then balance it, or try to take some of it's weight, on the final bit of the push in. Of course this is just my experience and I'm no professional but I hope that helps. All the best.
