Hey everyone. I appreciate the kind words and that some of you have learned from my experiences! I dove deep over the past five years or so on multi-cam and live streaming stuff. However, I’m not really doing a lot of this stuff right now, so there probably won’t be a lot of opportunities for me to make these set-up explanation videos. That said - I do continue to check these comments and respond to every one that I can. You can also email me at info@yayyoudidit.com and I’ll help if I can!
Great info. I also have a LiveU Solo and an ATEM Mini ISO. The streaming bridge gives me back my multi-view when remote streaming with the LiveU / Solo.
Is the delay via the bridge acceptable to use in the live environemnt? I mean in the same room as a monitor? I understand the delay over internet but what is the delay when directly connected?
Thanks for the video. Super helpful. Any way to reduce the delay on the streaming bridge so you can use it in live to screen for Church or conferences in a live venue?
Thank you for this video. Quick question. I just purchased my Atem Mini Pro and my use will be to do training with clients using Zoom and I want to get my program out to a monitor so I don’t have to keep looking at the Multi view at another desk in my setup. Will this device work for this situation or do I even need this to accomplish what I am trying to do?
Thanks for this. Although with this set up, you lose the Atem's ability to directly stream from the hardware to a website (Facebook, et al), correct? Because it will now be streaming to the Bridge.
As far as I know yes. The Atem can only stream to one platform at once. A quick turn around for this issue would be to connect it to a laptop and then use applications like OBS to stream to another source...
You are right - you cannot stream to the bridge and to a CDN at the same time. The ATEM’s biggest flaw is one HDMI out. It NEEDS a separate preview out and program out.
ATEM Bridge Stream to UA-cam and Local LAN. I need to stream to UA-cam and directly to local monitors on my network. UA-cam stream for remote viewers. Sending ATEM output over local area network to monitors in another room. The stream cannot be the multicast view since it is used by the video operator. Any suggestions?
Thank you! this is most helpful! did you ever try capturing the video from the ATEM Streaming Bridge into the computer and stream via zoom? I want to this so I can recored all iso's on ATEM mini pro iso and stream to zoom at the same time. Thank you.
Great video! Question: can I connect the ATEM Mini Pro Ethernet output to a Gigabit Ethernet switch, then from there split one ethernet output to my ISP WIFI Router and another ethernet output to my HDMI Program Output Display via ATEM Streaming Bridge? Thanks!
Hi, is it possible to connect the ATEM Mini PRO and ATEM Streaming Bridge through a switch so as to be able to connect to the PC also through Ethernet?
If I understand your question properly, yes. As long as the ATEM Mini Pro, Streaming Bridge and computer are all on the same network, they can talk to each other. You just have to learn a little bit about IP addresses to make sure they are looking in the right place for each other. If someone knows more about this topic, please feel free to correct me.
Great video. It’s close to what we are needing. My wife teaches art lessons and will live stream them. The setup on atem mini extreme is in her home studio , it’s packed with art stuff and the cameras and the atem extreme iso. But she needs me to do all the switching and stuff for the show because she will be doing art work the whole time. How can I control all 8 inputs and the pip”s from a different room in house? (Office). Basically I will want to see the multi view and possibly program, but I will want to also run it then vmix on my super desktop in office . So I can play videos and lower thirds. Is this possible by using the atem bridge streamed to my desktop and then I can use atem software on the desktop in office to control all the inputs and decide what goes out to program from a different room then what the atem extreme is located? Thanks
You got an alternative if your HDMI Out doesn't work anymore? ... Actually nevermind you might have solved my problem.. "Use the Bi-Directional Converter" --... Imma try using that and see how that works.
Thanks for this video. I have an ATEM MINI ISO. I want to do a multicam livestream while recording ISO files to a drive from the USB out, and taking a multi view out from the HDMI out. If I connect a streaming bridge via the Ethernet port in order to convert that signal all to an HDMI for program out, does that mean I lose being able to control the ATEM and my BMD Pocket Cinema 6K cameras as well as the wired, ethernet internet connection?
So I think controlling your Blackmagic cameras happens over the HDMI inputs. So you should be good there. If you go Ethernet out of your ATEM mini to the streaming bridge directly, then your Ethernet out is busy and cannot be used for anything else. If however everything with Ethernet goes to a switch or router and you have internet going into it, then maybe it’s possible to send program to the streaming bridge over Ethernet while also streaming? I don’t know honestly.
Good question. I honestly haven't been using the ATEM Mini Pro much lately. But I think you'll be able to use software control and macros with the USB-C port.
Great video . Looks like you solved one of the issues with the atem mini switcher I wish they gave you a live preview via usb as well . Or via Ethernet protocol . So that you have two outputs . Anyways my question is regarding the atem bridge . Say my client is remote and I pre set the atem bridge and atem software from my location then ship the camera and atem mini with xml file already saved and everything pre set . Do you think it will hold settings for my client to simply hook up to WiFi or internet and hit stream on the atem ? I mean all the work would be done by me before hand local network with atem bridge and port open and atem software installed and pre set in clients computer before shipping ?
Hey thanks. Yeah, I believe Blackmagic intends for these two devices to be used the way you just described. I’m not certain what how reliably the ATEM will retain the default stream settings you load with your XML file. I seem to remember having to reload it after a certain amount of time. But that wouldn’t be too tough to do remotely.
@@YayYouDidIt true . I’m doing some test now . My other concern is how much traffic it’s going to add to my internet source . Right now I’m using a mobile SIM card pepwave hot spot set up .
Hey there. You’re asking if the both need to be USB-C into the computer right? I’m using USB-C to USB-C cables to get from those devices into the computer. However going USB-C out of the ATEM Mini Pro or ATEM Streaming Bridge and then into a computer via USB-A also works. Keep in mind the streaming bridge doesn’t send any video signal out of that USB port. That’s just to run setup software. The ATEM Mini Pro however can send video signal out of that USB-C port to the computer like a webcam would.
@@YayYouDidIt Thanks for the reply! So heres what I was thinking. I wanted to use my ISO to collect recordings. Im currently running ethernet to ISO and ethernet to iMaC and getting atem control over ethernet. Does streaming bridge get internet out of the usb c port connected to computer?
Ahhh. I believe the answer is No. I do not think the streaming bridge gets an internet connection from your computer over USB-C. If you have a router, you could send Ethernet internet into it and then plug your computer, ATEM Streaming Bridge and ATEM Mini Pro into the router and then everything has internet and your computer can see and control everything there. I do that on a lot of shows and it’s awesome.
@@YayYouDidIt so in order to be able to record ISOs (because really want multiview): ethernet from router to computer, ethernet from router to streaming bridge, ethernet from router to atem pro iso, and usbc from streamingbridge to computer?
That photo is actually from a live stream at a music venue, where we put the audio mixing console in the building next door so the audio engineer can hear properly. Since he was in a different building, I sent multi-view to him over HDMI. I was actually using my bigger flypack (you can see it in another video on my channel). That said, in the setup I show in this video, I'm sending program out of the ethernet port (by way of the streaming bridge), and that leaves the HDMI output sending multi-view. If you send that HDMI into a bi-directional converter, you'll get get both HDMI and SDI multi-view outputs. Does that make sense?

Bonus points for sending the multi view. Have had to explain the value of that to a few video folks.

is it possible to livestream to another platform? or do you have to chose weather you send the stream to the streaming bridge or Facebook etc?
