Laughing should something that we all share but, sadly, it seems that virtually all humor offends someone these days. Comedy has always offended someone , somewhere. It's just that in the past humorists and the majority of people cared more about the comedy than those hypothetical people and their feelings.
      More people like Zed are needed to just turn up the volume and be unapologetically funny.
      Support Zed and help fight comedy cancer ✊️(This has been a very serious message)

    16:35 The purpose of the St. Louis arch is to commemorate Lewis and Clark's expedition westward. This is because that is where Lewis and Clark met up for the first time, and where they left from together. That is why both St. Louis and Missouri are referred to as "The Gateway to the West".
    Fun Fact: The journey actually originated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when one of them hired a boatwright to build their boat for them. The boatwright was an alcoholic, and put the journey behind schedule by a month (which almost caused problems for Lewis and Clark when winter came). The boat left from Pittsburgh with one of them, and the two connected in St. Louis to continue together.

    Ok, as for the missouri question "what was the point?" St louis was the "gateway to the west" since most crossed the Mississippi river at that point. So the developers came up with the arch design and I think it is a great representation for the city. For those who don't know, there are trams that go up each leg of the arch to a platform at the top that overlooks the area east and west. There is also a settlers museum under the arch where you board the trams and a theater where you can see a film on the construction of the arch.

    Just for Zed; a "Christmas Cracker" is basically a toilet roll tube, with a Cracker Jack prize inside, along with a stupid joke and a paper hat, the whole thing covered in Christmas paper wrapping. Two small strips of paper through the toilet tube, attached in the middle, with a tiny amount of fire cracker powder, that extends a little bit on both ends. You and a family member, hold each end of the cracker, making sure you have the strip of paper held tightly, then you pull. The friction of the strip of paper being pulled, causes enough friction that the "powder" goes off, making a "popping" or "cracking" sound. You then, take out the contents, read the really bad joke, and unfold the paper hat (usually a paper crown). Clearly, a hundred and fifty years ago this would have been festive custom. beloved by kids who only got an orange and a new pair of socks for Christmas. I first encountered the custom while in the Air Force, stationed in England. I remember the custom, because I married an English girl. I practice the custom, to this day, not just to please my British wife, but also because it embarrassed my kids wondrously, once they got old enough to realize how silly the custom is - but they all are half-English and learned to do their duty for God, Queen and Country. Hope that helps!

    A Christmas Cracker is basically a gift wrapped rolled paper tube that two people pull apart from either end. There's a small gift inside that goes to the person who lucked out and picked the right end to pull on, fostering a sense of grandiosity in the winner and resentment in the loser. It makes a bang and a little bit of smell when you pull it apart because it contains a thingie like a cap gun cap. Good for making any babies at the dining room table cry, and triggering heart attacks in the elderly.
    Anther psychotic Christmas traditions is, "find the only whole almond in the rice pudding and you win a prize!" introduced to me by my mom's Danish friend. I was like, "uh... I'm not eating that slop just to have a one in ten chance of winning a $2 hula hoop." They literally encourage gambling in small children just to get them to eat an inedible dessert.

    On the honey-made crackers: that wasn't an "expiration date" but a "best by" date which all it does is provide a freshness guideline for the retail stores so they know when to replace old stock. Technically if it is kept in the wrapping, kept dry and doesn't have any mold growing on it then it is still perfectly fine to eat

    • @justforever96
      @justforever96 Рік тому

      Exactly. People obsess way too much over "expiration dates". If it's not meat or dairy or fresh bread, it's going to be fine, maybe a little stale. Anything sealed that is. And the dates on the meat and dairy come with a hefty safety margin. People who this throw stuff out the day the date is reached are fools.
      I have had crackers that sat for six months, _opened_ , and tasted just fine. That was why crackers were invented, because they don't go bad, they can be stored for voyages. Hardtack, etc.
