Do you have Fabio's Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin? Masterpiece. It's here on UA-cam as well. I am a mandolin player. I love the mandolin players in this concerto. I'd love to have such a baroque mandolin, but since they cost plus $1,000 for even a moderate one I just can't afford one.

Io invece sono in forza fino a venerdì 16 dicembre, dopodiché in ferie fino al 31 dicembre e poi ufficialmente " disoccupata". Its fabio biondis interpretation of what vivaldi meant by "violin in tromba marina". No one knows for sure, but its likely he had violins altered by having something added to the bridge to make a raucous buzzing sound.
I bought the CD and was very disappointed. I prefer the audio quality on this video, it's much brighter and you can hear all of the instruments clearly. The CD is muddy.
@@grm7237 Not quite, it was written for violin, but imitating the sound of the tromba marina ("violino in tromba marina"), a 1-string instrument in which this piece could not be played.
It’s extremely interesting that they have chosen to imitate the instrument, though. It’s believed to be an invention of Vivaldi, but from what we know, no “violin in tromba marina” has survived, and no sufficient instructions on how to make one have, either. I think, though, that they have done a great job, and maybe this is what Vivaldi had imagined!

This is such a true statement for me as well, I owe a lot of my excitement for baroque music because of him and Europa Galante.
