Years ago I remember sleeping under a similar quilt at my grandparents. When closing the estate with my mother and an aunt and uncle I asked for the quilt. It was pretty old and very worn. I checked into repairing it, having it cleaned or hand laundering it. There wasn’t much hope. I cut out the best of all the blocks as I wanted to preserve the hand quilting on it. I sent a block to all of my cousins. My daughter and one other great granddaughter had a close relationship with them so the last 2 went to them. I had mine and my daughters framed and hang on point. Memories are always there.
