In the eighties I was in Wirrabarra South Australia. The tip had a huge collection of cars going back to the forties. We stopped and grabbed some parts. We went back to get some more parts and they'd dug a huge hole and Bulldozed the lot into it Mainline Utes, FJ, 48-215, EK, XM, XP, FC and more Basically a huge amount of hard to get Utes and Sedans
That whole place looks like an awesome purpose-built set to film a Zombie Apocalypse movie on. No set-dressing or expensive props required; just bring in the actors and start the cameras rolling!
I can tell you why they can leave the cars on the street, all of these businesses have trade plates registered to the business and the premises. You are allowed to have/park and drive cars within 100 meters of the registered address without the trade plate on the vehicle. So I would say the majority are not breaking the law. Great loophole for car wreckers
All the falcons were built in campbellfield from the 60s onwards, not in Geelong bro, so your cars Peter’s etc all were made there to clear it up. Geelong was where the Barra was cast and made.
I really love looking in wreckers and would of been abit more excited if you went in to each wreckers and found some cool older JDM cars that are rare or even exotics
In Western Australia if you leave a car on the road too long, it will quickly get a sticker. " This vehicle has been reported " In Subiaco the city will ask you to move even outside your house. It seems to lower the tone of the area.
Those Ford’s at the old factory won’t be abandoned. They’re just being stored by Ford. There is a similar situation in Lavington, NSW. The old DSI/Borg Warner factory (made transmissions for Falcons) had stored engineering vehicles for Geely and Saangyong. Despite having closed years ago.
I saw stuff like this in Cairo Egypt when I was there in the early 80's, the only difference was that this type of vehicle was being driven day in day out. They drive vehicles that would only be fit for crushing here. The problem in Oz is that if your car has a very minor impact but it's enough to set off the airbags then it's a writeoff.
I live in Melbourne, and I never knew that this existed, all of these cars just sitting around is just money getting wasted, its mind boggling, Campbellfield is on the other side of city from where I live, I reside in Noble Park.
So, Campbellfield is like an open range wreckers? Bloody hell. Always wanted to visit the Pick a Part there, now I'm not so sure I'd want to leave my car unattended! 😮
Hume council have recently changed their dumping policies but they are too slow on follow up. Someone also started wrecking shopping trollies and leaving them around without fronts and backs it's so bizarre
Just FYI, those Ford Rangers that were ‘dumped’ at the old manufacturing plant are actually engineering/evaluation vehicles that are there because that’s Ford head office and the home of Design and Engineering. Not dumped at all. Even the ones with cobwebs. Once they’re not required, they’ll be disposed of appropriately. But totally agree with all the dumped vehicles on the streets even though they belong to the car dismantlers. Horrible look.
In 20 years people will be wishing they could time travel and save these classics or feast on the abundance of bits. Is like today's version of the $500 Falcon hardtop.
I used to drive trucks around there. There were a lot of times id have to take 3 point turns just to squeeze between cars and trucks on the side of the road without wheels or engines and whatnot. Terrible place to drive around in a semi
You would want to. Probably be careful walking around the street at night. Because there could be some bad people around there. Is it actually against the law to have a vehicle parked on the street if unregistered? I hope you are doing well and look after yourself. Hopefully, I will be getting on to my UA-cam channel in a while tonight.
It is illegal unrego to b on the street and ur channel needs deleting terrible videos only showing wat most youtubers would edit out of videos ur channels and vids have no story or meaning and dont show or help anything wat is the point of ur channel?
@@cammos That's the whole point of the video; shows us the unglamorous parts of Melbourne and streetscapes that most people down by the Yarra sitting in their multi-million dollar homes wouldn't even know exist in their own city. I found this content interesting, eye-opening and informative.
awww mate if there is a 1998 soarer auto there ill be there ! also love the work and effort your putting into the videos mate keep up the awesome work !!!!!
They're not abandoned they're owners are just using the council land like their own. It is an issue to leave them unregistered on council land. The council have the right to remove them.
I was a Postie in the Campbellfeild Area for over 25 years and it's always been this way and only keeps getting worse and more wide spread. I always thought wreckers were supposed to keep there cars within the confines of there premises. Hume Council doesn't care and VIC Police are to lazy to do anything. Come on departments there a chance to make some real big revenue out there and that will make them cleanup.
Haha that atlas grey wagon on Lara way is out front next to my work.. it was actually put there by the business where the car is so trucks can’t load or unload or park out the front.. they are full Karen’s whole street hates em
hahhha what a grouse video,i own a K11 Micra ,pretty rare lil car now and parts are hard to find ,mate at work told me to drive an hour over to Campbelfield and F me theres three in the same yard just hangin out,the owner of the yard i dealt with is an Armenian fella and trust me he has no issues with people stealing or taking parts off cars out on the road ,i believed him as he looked like a mad Cnt
What an exaggeration. What's your next video. Shopping centre carpark full of abandoned cars?. Your outside a wrecking yard in an industrial area. What do you expect valet parking?
Lol there all stolen for rebirthing. They go auctions by write offs or heavily damaged get someone to steal the same make and colour car switch parts new vin sell it. Grew up down that way and knew a few boys that did it, there all driving around in Lambo's and Ferrari's and have nice houses. Big money in rebirthing if you know what your doing!
The cars are not really abandoned are they, even you said "they belong to the wreckers" captain obvious!! So your video is really click bait. Clearly they dont have the storage room in thier own property so leave them on the street and yeah, "they will be watching you" get some free parts of those complete Falcons, i dare you.....

They could do any sort of war movies there, that place looks like aftermath of the civil war
Spanian of the auto world.
i said the same thing last vid haha
Are you implying Nathan’s a criminal as well?
Background music sounds familiar 😂
HOOD VROOM LAD
Campbellfield the home of stolen cars and rebirthing.
A born again Falcon, Hallelujah brother Hallelujah, tis now a Cherry. 😊
I used to work in the slums over there. The streets are shocking with stuff on the roads.
Laws are only enforced when it profits the Government.
Dandy is the same all the car yards and mechanics and wreckers have cars parked everywhere
Was this video filmed in downtown Baghdad or Campbellfield?
Little Baghdad is literally down the road from this area 😂

They probably own a few each and because it's their "shop/yard" the eventuality is they have a kilometre for cars and the rest that just roll up.
These videos are it brother keep ‘em up, you should segway this popular series into building a car with only wreckers parts
That sounds like a wicked idea.. let's gooo
Basically free parts
All Falcons and Territories were build in Campbellfield. The engines were assembled in Geelong.

My bad my bad, got confused between the Barra and the whole car lol
@@peter_brashI love you Peter aswell as Rex Hunt

Wow never knew geely was in Australia the weirdest brand I've heard of is proton cos I had a cheap one as my first car
Don't touch them if you value your fingers, they are spillover from the yards they are parked in front of.
Yep, just wreckers who think they can put their crap anywhere and a lazy council who doesn't do anything about it.

Literally pick any of the side streets off Sydney rd between Cooper st down to the ring rd and you'll find them littered everywhere

What junkyard where you at for the first car shown Lada niva ? I could use some of that stuff
If you had a tilt tray start collecting them and take them to the tip and make some $$$
You would be buried
VE was still there today.
I saw a random jetski dumped on the footpath in campbellfeild. Love the BGM
Corrupted local authorties
That area died when Ford closed down.
All the falcons rolled off the broady assembly line, there was components and engines made in geelong but final asselmby was in BM
Similar situations in sydney for years around bankstown / greenacre
That’s something I see a lot in Brooklyn NY, New Jersey and Philadelphia
Its to make Campbellfield resemble where the business owners came from.
People loving this video, going viral mate!
Hume council have recently changed their dumping policies but they are too slow on follow up.

Geelong factory made engines and body panels, Broady assembled them.
