I follow this club because of Crimmins & Knights, spurred on by Hudson, Matthews, Crawford etc. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than watching Hodge & Mitchell (with a touch of Lewis, Junior Boy and Buddy?) doing what they did with The Hawks!
Quite extraordinary. At 7:17 , Mitchell changes his mind about which foot to kick with after the ball has left his hand. Even then, it's still an effective pass.
Just seeing this is a reminder of why the Hawks were able to win 4 premierships in 8 seasons. Skilful leaders and so much talent some younger guys left before they were able to break in to a strong team.
As much as I as drawn to The Hawks by Crimmins and Knights. As much as I worship Maurice Rioli and Stephen Michael. I saw more, of the best from Mitchell and Hodge than the others. No disrespect to them but ....... as a pair, no comparison.
