Thank you for the lovely comments so far everyone. Hopefully Addie & I can bring a successful eventing vlog soon 🤞 Forgot to mention at the end that Kerry-Ann had an awesome result coming 5th 👏 xx
Addy is so lucky having you to help her reach her potential as an event horse. You've prepared her well and the more she gets to competitions the hard work will pay off. Well done!!!
Great video Em. You did great. If you can get some friends to go out somewhere with you and she can get nappy with her friends, try to work her right up in them, run circles around them, just do any work she finds challenging right up in her friends, then take her away from her friends and the work and let her rest and catch her breath. She will learn being away from friends is less work. It might really help. Love watching you ride.
I so enjoy your vlogs, really appreciate the keeping it reel! Makes us all feel a little better about our own battles - we are all in it together! She’s coming on loads and you ride so well! If it was easy everyone would do it!!! Congratulations on a fab XC round xx
Patient and positive riding through the few blips, amazing Em. A pleasure to watch. So lovely to see you getting to this part of your journey. I'm calling 100s by the end of the season as you guys have come so far for your hard work and she has all the scope. Good luck for the next one 😊
That is a vast improvement in her cross-country! She's really come on in that phase. The nappiness you can deal with. There's a gem under the teenage attitude and she's not lacking in talent! She's got nice regular paces and will put together respectable dressage scores once she pays attention.
Really enjoyed this one. Just want to say thank you for leaving in the ‘less than perfect moments’. Because as somebody who’s been sat in the editing chair I know just how tempting it can be to want to cut out those moments rather than share with the world!! Honestly her XC was fab and I am soooo routing for you two, a little more exposure to the world and I’m sure you’ll be up there in no time, as she really is smart!!! x
My mare can be exactly the same with the napping. It's great to watch your videos to see what tips you get! It sometimes puts me off going out as it's so disappointing but you give me the enthusiasm to keep at it 😂
Keep up the good work!!! Piggy's right, she needs to listen for the safety of you both! I have a German Shepherd puppy called Addi lol. She's like your Addi's opposite. Extremely keen to please. She is almost the same colour though 😂
omg you have a hairy pony bag! thats an aussie company haha. you did really well em. she is definitely a teenager like piggy said haha - thinks she knows it all!
Thank you for posting this and well done Emily. As the saying goes - every day is a school day. And with horses, that is incredibly true! I honestly don't think I'd have the bottle to do 90's (at the moment I don't have the bottle for 80's either lol), so I was dead impressed/envious at watching both you and KerryAnn whizzing around. Looking forward to the next one x
Love that your so patient with her, a lot of people would be crop happy with napping like she done in the SJ, but you just say yes or no 😊 she’s coming on great!
I'm glad you managed to finish with a smile because I know how deflating it can feel dealing with a nappy pony! I don't think you could have done anymore in the show jumping, you gave her the best round you could given what she gave you to work with! Xx
Amazing riding Em! She is such a stroppy teenager at the moment! Once she recognises you as boss you guys will be flying!! It’s coming together nicely xx
Well done - and you’re right you just have to get out and about until she’s confidently over herself - competing is so different to training and you just have to get out to some throw away comps - before you know it she will be an ‘ol pro
Well Done Emily👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yes the highs/lows BUT You remained so positive and kep her on the move👌🏻👌🏻 Your Nephew is adorable and what a great helper he was for You. Once again i truly enjoyed this vlog from the prep for show to the whole event.Rest up now and recharge now, thank you for All the hard work in putting your vlog together x
I think my horses have the least amount of white 😂 One has a tiny patch of white on just one side of her coronet band on one hoof. And the other just has a faint star and white spot on his nose about the size of your pinky finger nail😂
Didn’t Piggy say something along the lines of that horses, when they get to be five or six years old, think they know it all so they become brats for awhile? Eventually, they mature and grow out of it. That’s all you’re dealing with here. You will work through it.
Out eventing again! New place, new experience. Addie XC was indeed bold and brave. Shout out to William for filming 👏✊ your garden you were working in with husband at start of vlog… are those your starts from your indoor grow stand? Planning on canning any of your vegetables? Hope you planted some carrots for the horses 🧡
Out with my sister for food when the notification came up for this vlog. Could not wait to get home to watch it (sorry sis ). Well done Addie really tried to push your buttons, but you just carried on. Great vlog xx
Ugh... horses are humbling. Question, didn't Piggy have you ride with a stick? Why wouldn't you have one in the show jumping? Think it really would have done you some favors as she needs added incentive to remember you're in charge.
From my own very personal experience there always more than a good reason if a horse refuses to do something we ask ESPECIALLY if they're known to previously enjoy it. Young horses can definitely disagree sometimes but I would say the show jumping was a real definitive "something isn't ok mum" often times if you add pressure when they are already really screaming no it's how you get to an explosive no which can just be awful for everyone. I would check absolutely everything and even get a vet involved too if other options are exhausted. Saddle fit Physio/massage Teeth Feet Then vet. Some say that the vet should just go first and I personally would agree for my own horse but everyone has their own sequence they prefer and you know your horse better and I'm only going by a video. Forward is definitely important but consistent pressure to get forward shouldn't be the route you take for it. It becomes a pressure they aren't sure how to get away from. The release doesn't arrive soon enough and eventually they grow frustrated. It can just be a rider thing that can create the frustration but often times and it's been proven by vet studies that frustration often involves some pain somewhere. I hope I'm not crucified by saying it but I mean it with love. I just don't like all the comments telling you to be boss. It's a partnership and we've got to listen to them too. ❤
Thank you for the lovely comments so far everyone. Hopefully Addie & I can bring a successful eventing vlog soon 🤞

I am certain that it's onwards and upwards for you and Addie!!! Congratulations to Kerrie Anne!!!

You were great ! Addie ate the cross country ! Congratz Kerry-Ann
Well done 😊your patience is paying off. Bringing on a young horse is tough, and you are doing brilliantly 😊
Nice to watch your vlog. Well done to you both
Well done, she looked great out XC! ❤
She’s a very competent mare but she needs to recognise you as ‘boss’. She’s a touch teenager currently but you’ll get her through.

Well done on the xc, you were awesome

You’re doing well with the bratty teenage moments. She will end up with a great attitude with all the work you both are putting in.
I love watching your vids
Well ridden! Loved the very scopey jump over the log/ditch fence!
Thanks auntie Emily
You both did super well! It's all a work in progress and heading in the right direction. Roll on Sunday; can't wait! 🎉🎉 Xx
I think she is learning that she’s not getting away with it, and how epic was she in cross country!! ❤ go Em!!
Keep up the good work!!!
Piggy's right, she needs to listen for the safety of you both!

Lovely to see you out eventing again. Addie is gorgeous and she looked so well in the cross country 😍
omg you have a hairy pony bag! thats an aussie company haha. you did really well em. she is definitely a teenager like piggy said haha - thinks she knows it all!
Time on the mat and getting the reps is so hard for amateurs but I think you'll see a great difference when you go out a few weekends in a row
has Sprite been tested for PPID? A soft wavey coat ccan be an earlly sign. I didnt realise until mine got laminitis.

Well done!!!❤
Sprite looks great, really nice body condition.
Amazing riding Em! She is such a stroppy teenager at the moment! Once she recognises you as boss you guys will be flying!! It’s coming together nicely xx
She is really improving, I think she is taking confidence from you being stronger, get your growl going and she will listen xx

Very nicely done ✅
As we say here in UK, she was being a right little madam.

@@emdeventing Yay! Well done Kerry-Ann - and her horses name is .... ?
@@emdeventing Thanks - will check it out and subscribe. Christine xx
@@whatsupdoc99 If I'm remembering right, Kerry-Ann's horse is Connor.
