@@ED-lk7il Thanks. I'm laughing because here in Cambodia, I've been buying & selling land from 2014 until 2016, after which prices shot up due to the Chinese taking over in Sihanoukville (we're about 120 km from there, with no other city between us). I drew the line back then at $11 / m2. On average, I spent between $5 - 7,50/m2. For me, $100 p. m2 is outrageous. Hilarious, I know.
For all those enamoured by the buy Bali plan that is all well and good you should do what feels right for your particular circumstances. Another route is to invest in property in your own country where you can gain freehold and have protection of law and residence. You can then lease short medium or long-term in Bali or for that matter anywhere in Asia/World using the rental income to offset. This reduces your exposure to political and economic upheavals in a foreign country where your ability to seek redress or financial exit might be reduced. If you are considering a forever move to Bali you may be more inclined to tie your economic property prospects to the Balinese and Indonesian economies. Best of luck on whatever path you take.
Chidi, i lived in Bali for about a one month and a half in August 2019. It was there where i studied for my Yoga certification. I stayed in Ubud. I was under the impression that only Indonesians were able to buy land in Bali. Clearly that is incorrect information. I am sorry i did not see your videos when i was doing my research before i visited. I would have loved to connect because i too am interested in possibly making Bali my next home. I am a woman of a certain age and in a few years, i cannot believe i saying this, i will leave New York City. Did i really admit that. I always said they would take me out kicking and screaming. Funny what you believe when you are very young. Anyway, i will visit again next year hopefully, when everything gets better. It is the most remarkable place i have ever been. The people are warm. I like Changuu, but i Love Bali. continued blessings to you Chidi.
Oh! That's so exciting to hear. I plan on buying property in Malaysia- God willing. I fell in love with the people and environnement when I visited and I hope to return soon.
Stunning! So in essence you’re leasing the land for a number of years then renew? What happens if in the future they refuse you to renew? Will they give you the money you’ve spent in the property?
Yay! I've been looking forward to this video for weeks. Yes! Super interested in learning about the investment bit but i'd also love to learn about how you found your architect, if you use an interior designer, price ranges, all the things. You being only 23 years old is major! You are well on your way to becoming extremely wealthy! I envy you. I've been to Bali, four times. The area you are in is beautiful and not far from the airport. Are you still going to keep the rice paddies after you build your villa?
I am Indonesian and as far as I know foreigners couldn’t buy land outright in Indonesia. I guess you leased the land? You could build houses on the leased land. But maybe the government changed the law lately. Not sure. Anyway very useful video 👍
Pronounce Cahh-ngoo. A friend owns a villa with B&B there but business has been very slow this year. Best of luck to you. I have Balinese house and live in it in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Take a look and if you visit Jakarta I too have B&B if you look for a place to stay. Congrats and welcome to this country.
We have Indonesian friends who have property over there and we’ve been told several times by many people that only Indonesians are legally allowed to actually purchase land in Bali, to prevent the land being purchased up by foreigners. We’ve been told that foreigners are allowed to lease land for hundreds of years at a time so it’s as if you purchased it, but that the ownership actually stays with someone who is Indonesian. Has this changed then? You kept mentioning you purchased the land and it was transferred into your name so I’m curious as to how that worked?
Hi hi! Legally you can lease the land under your name for a given number of years and then renew this - that is the most secure way to invest here in Bali ❤️ There are other options however more complex
So, I found you yesterday. Lol. I most say I absolutely love your videos. I am now trying to convince my husband to move there. I’m LBDS! We could retire there now and we are still extremely young.
Would love a video on the logistics and process of obtaining land and building in Bali without being a citizen. 💛
So would the Government!!!
I like Changuu but i love Ubud.
I love Bali.. since I was kid always had holiday in Bali every year in Nusa Dua and Ubud too❤️
Enjoy your video! You are so young and you already know your direction! You are amazing! Always wanted to visit Bali
Oh! That's so exciting to hear. I plan on buying property in Malaysia- God willing. I fell in love with the people and environnement when I visited and I hope to return soon.
Stunning! So in essence you’re leasing the land for a number of years then renew? What happens if in the future they refuse you to renew? Will they give you the money you’ve spent in the property?
immediately followed you on insta, this video lifted my spirits so much. You are so inspiring and make everything feel so tangible, thank you
Yay! I've been looking forward to this video for weeks. Yes! Super interested in learning about the investment bit but i'd also love to learn about how you found your architect, if you use an interior designer, price ranges, all the things. There really isn't anything like this out there on UA-cam so thank you for creating it ❤️
Aw thank you for watching! Thanks for the feedback Ill definitely incorporate this in future videos
I too want to build a house in Bali. I cant wait for the video with your lawyers so it can help people like myself take the next steps. Thank you so much for sharing this!
What an ambitious and adventurous young woman, you are to be admired by all. My daughter is currently an NYU student, I hope she has the same spirit to pursue her dreams, I’m a new subscriber, looking forward to watching your travels and maybe planning a trip! 🥰
Thank you so much for watching 🙌🏾❤️ I appreciate the support, and im so sure your daughter will
Just found your channel, 2nd video. You really are a talker but the info is informative and good. You might consider voice overs while you’re showing the procedures and Bali and less time of you talking, no shade but it is about Bali. Thanks for sharing. You truly are an inspiration.
Congratulations 🥳 black girl magic 🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊
You being only 23 years old is major! You are well on your way to becoming extremely wealthy! I envy you. I've been to Bali, four times. The area you are in is beautiful and not far from the airport. Are you still going to keep the rice paddies after you build your villa?
I am Indonesian and as far as I know foreigners couldn’t buy land outright in Indonesia. I guess you leased the land? You could build houses on the leased land. But maybe the government changed the law lately. Not sure. Anyway very useful video 👍
I only have one question: how do you get your hair done there ? I need to know so I can move.
I wish you add more video shots of the process
I will make a follow up video soon with the process and everything else 💌
You’re building at a perfect time
Pronounce Cahh-ngoo.
Im indonesian from north sumatra, i wish that one day i can build my own house in Bali..
Congrats for your house btw..
congrat Ashley..i love how you enjoy living in Bali(btw i'm balinese🤗)
So, I found you yesterday. Lol. I most say I absolutely love your videos. I am now trying to convince my husband to move there. I’m LBDS! We could retire there now and we are still extremely young. Lolol. Thank you so much for your wisdom and videos. I pray that we are neighbors soon! I’m so serious. Lol. Blessings to you! Thanks again. ✨🙌🏼✨
I noticed the boom when my favorite yoga teachers were doing their retreats in Bali.
Look at this queen!
I am proud of you sis! Keep shining your light! 🙏🏼
Hmm...wish there was more information about what this process actually costs for those of us that actually are interested in building. 🧐

Woow...amazing...congratulations Chidi...can't wait to see your dream house, warm greetings from Jakarta

Heeeeey Friend!!! First CONGRATULATIONS!!! You’re such an inspiration. I am also interested in purchasing in Bali. As soon as them boarders open up I will be there and would love to meet you! Question for you... is it true that foreigners are not allowed to actually own the land and instead can only purchase a long term lease for the land? Can you explain that process in one of your next videos? Looking forward to more content from you!
Will make a follow up video discussing this! Thank you so much for watching and yes we should make a plan to meet up when you come!!

Proud of you Chidi.. btw, you mentioned that the land is just outside of canggu - exactly where about is it. Is it up west - perhaps closer to tanah lot area? I find land in canggu are still overpriced...

Hi Chidi, welldone. A chip of the old block, your mothers daughter indeed. Aunty Ijeoma.
Glad to hear/ see she has family support.💞
Bought land or leased land? Or your business bought land? or in conjunction with a local? My wife is Indonesian and just wondering the details of your build? Just watched your latest vid of the finished house. Beautifully done.
This vid is a lot of talk again would love to see where you are living, your taste, the architecture of houses even the style and sizes, rental properties, land, markets, shops & prices plzs show pics while you talk to give me a vision and an ideal if I can see myself living there hey great content & beautiful personality!
ICU Blink I'm thinking the same! A lot of talk but no real visuals to what is offered in Canggu or other areas to determine the move is right. IJS 🤷♀️
Do you mind sharing your process, design. Glad you met w/ community. Good move, smart!
