      @@nicoeeek.7181 Mummy is the exact same way most all of the time. They seem to have a smaile and alswayssay the correct things. Vivienne is like this too. It is easy to lose that when we age and that is not good. Ifwe can "look orward" to things . Not needing to look back, but have things to be thankful for and looking foward, is part of the reason we can show feel happiness at all!. We can lose it so easily ,as we are often in pain and grow older and life changes. Stephanies mom and dad were both Psychology nurses for pts with Arteriosclerosis/. Alzheimers. This has helped ,she and her brother ,to have a much brighter outlook in life. Some has to be inborn though too. I think this all helps if working together for a certain length of time. . Being able to enjoy life and have fun and feel loved is very important. Some peole can look happyand seem happy and show it on their faces even when miserable. We all have days iin lie tht are hard and must have let down moments. ll thigns are not perfect all the time, of course. We are all human. That is normal . Knowing you are helping others in some way. It all brings more of this attitude out of people. Many struggle , worry, are ill, and just do not see a miracle in life everyday and when you do not see this anymore, that can cause one to not be so happy to become depressed or worse. . We all neeed to draw close to those who are filled with that spirit of joy as we all want to feel some of it in order to grow more that way! But at the same time not to drain the people who have such energy, as they use alot and show it and use it just to help us smile, or get this feeling of having the same aiblity as they do to do fun thignss and not be stagnent. Life is tough otherwise. With all Stephanie and her friends and family do, helps us hopefully feel we can have a litle bit of the joy they do have aleady.Vlogs take time and are not so easy to make. * I have not done it, but can imagine*

    Wow, did you enjoy the holiday. I went on a Nile cruise and cruised lake Nasser back in 2001, which took 4 days if I remember. I remember waking up and seeing abu simbel outside my cabin window... Glorious! I've always wanted to do a cruise on the Nile on one of those ships like "The Sudan" which is one of those classic 1930'S paddle steamers that have been restored. When I did the cruise it was on a big ship with a group of very unimpressed german tourists... Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories!

    A friend often used to play draughts in the dessert with the Bedouin; they pile up the sand and flatten it, grid it and then choose 'light or dark 'checkers'. So much to take in, I went to Egypt in 2000 and stayed in a hostel in Cairo, We were a 5-minute walk from the Nile, the Museum, and the Hilton hotel. The museum was full of giant columns and carts from the tombs. boxes everywhere and no one stopped you from touching them until you came to Tutankhamun's body. A whole room was full of the trinkets that were found between his bandages and it was all low light so as not to damage them. After that, we were ushered quietly into the room containing his mummy with a golden mask, etc, I can not describe the feeling of seeing that for myself, it was like I had been transported back in time. It cost 25 Egyptian pounds to hire a taxi for the day to take us to Giza and the Sphinx etc. It was mind-blowing. we then traveled across the desert on a coach for 9 hours to a place called Nuweiba. For the entire journey, we sat under the speakers and the Koram was read out very loudly. I saw herds of wild camels. Once we got to Nuweiba we slept on the beach and swam with a wild dolphin that the local Bedouin villagers had adopted. I will never forget the experience.

    When i see places like this, the temples, the tombs, etc., I always wish, that they could somehow make a replica of just one of those temples, but as it was in its glory days. Just so that instead of the crumbling, dusty ruins, you could actually somewhat experience it, as it was meant to be seen. So much has been lost over time, and I think that would really have an impact on the experience. The same could be done in other places too.

    • @mapesdhs597
      @mapesdhs597 2 роки тому

      I very much agree, my gf & I have talked about this many times (our holidays always consit of visiting castles, ancient sites, Roman remains, old churches, etc.) Thinking back to Steph's earlier video of the medieval castle being renovated using, as much as possible, original methods, I guess the big problem with this concept is how one could have such a place given that so much of its design and indeed operation would not be 'compliant' with modern standards, ie. safely rules, access laws, regulations concerning food, hygiene and waste, etc. Unless there were a way of a proper replica being given some kind of exemption status, I bet in most locations such a venue would never be allowed to open, or even to be built. How does one get round modern laws about building codes, public access, etc.? Castles were effectively tools of power in one form or another (military, control of territory, or in more peaceful times a statement of position and status), built in all its myriad ways with particular needs in mind, none of which exactly align with tourism. :D
      Let's say though that it could be done, somehow, perhaps a place with a more relaxed set of rules & codes (somewhere in the US possibly, like Texas), or maybe visitors could sign a disclaimer and waver of normal rights & suchlike (as in, yes there will be very narrow corridors, very steep steps, walkways with no handrails, dark places, and almost nowhere accessible by invalids), even then though I wonder if the kind of experience you're alluding to might be somewhat spoiled by the presence of others wearing, as it were, modern garb, filming away with their smartphones and so on. Doubly so if such a setup was popular, ie. the atmosphere one is going for would be hard to maintain if it was brimming with tourists. Reminds me of places like Portmerion, which are best seen in the very early hours when it's virtually empty (it's where "The Prisoner" was filmed), because later in the day it's heaving with tourists which kinda spoils it somewhat. I've seen similiar comments from those who've visitied famous places in Italy, Greece and elsewhere, sometimes the sheer number of people can diminish the experience.
      Perhaps the only way it could be done is via long term stay, in which visitors wore period clothes, lived as the inhabitants would have at the time (a bit like the Westworld holiday concept, ref the original movie btw), and hence very expensive, make it more exclusive and thus more appealing only to those with genuine interest. But then, how far does one take this? Would cameras, phones, etc. not be allowed within? I think Westworld had that idea. Let's again assume though that visitors were content with whatever restrictions were chosen; what it boils down to in the end is, would such an idea be commercially viable? Probably not. The staffing of such a place alone would be an extraordinary task, a job quite unlike any other; not impossible though, eg. places such as Beamish have staff who are very dedicated and love their work. Perhaps though not exactly ammenable to a daily commite, more like somewhere that staff actually live.
      Maybe then it could only be done by someone with the money to spend who wanted to do it for the sheer love of seeing it become a reality for its own sake, rather than an attempt to make a profitable tourist attraction.
      Heh, it's a Schrodinger tourist attraction: the act of visiting such a place would, unless by limitation of modern norms, ruin the very thing one wishes to experience.
      Along sortof related lines, I think you'd find this interesting:
      ua-cam.com/video/SI6wDO2RhTQ/v-deo.html
      Also, again Lindybeige, a video which hints at the kind of thing involved in implementing the above ideas:
      ua-cam.com/video/sCL9NB8VQjs/v-deo.html
      Anyway, fingers crossed some day your idea can come to fruition somehow, maybe if Musk suddenly goes nuts for all things medieval instead of faffing around with Mars. :}

The first time when Mummy was flung forward whilst getting on the camel, the second when Philip was walking in his stripe pants, white nail polish and to complete the ensemble the white umbrella. He certainly can rock a look and thirdly Mummy being saved by 3 presumably Egyptians so as she would fall off backwards from the camel. I watched it again when it finished. I remember seeing the temple moved up so as not to be flooded. That’s how ancient I am. 😂. Thoroughly enjoyed this and envious as Egyptian things drew me in very very young as did all of architectural wonders

    😁What a joy! Exceptional peek at some of the exquisite wonders of Egypt 🇪🇬 . Enjoyed your entire travel group's sartorial splendor. Everyone looked glorious throughout your stay〰️esp. on your last 🎉celebratory 🎉 throwback evening with your Nile Island cocktails. ✍️Agatha Christie 📚 vintage inspired dress deserves to be donned on the ⛴️river in her honor.
    L🤍ve a parasol☂️ in a sunny climate☀️. No 👒 hat head, and it provides much wider coverage. No use in 🥵roasting out in the open if you can avoid it. Thrilled they're slowly becoming more & more popular in & around LA.
    Wish we had👃smell-a-vision for his two custom scents. They sounded pretty spectacular.
    😘Marvelous Mummy was in top form, so was your charming tour guide Curtis. Getting used to his handsome countenance without his gorgeous long locks✂️. ✈️Godspeed on your safe return.

    Oooooh, I wish I could do this one too. So good to watch especially Stephanie and Curtis going down into the depths of the tomb. Scary stuff. My mother was born in Eygpt and had some good stories to tell. I was given a scarab from the grandmother and have worn it in many ways including today.
