    I can say that I have seen many videos assembling remote controlled helicopters and this man takes you step by step with all the details.
    Thank you for your immense work, I know it is not easy to record and put together.
    Greetings from Panama (Panama Canal) keep the good work

      Thank you! Appreciate it. When I started this channel, I wanted to be different. I have not seen people make videos like this. They always skip past or time lapse they build and I thought to myself that doesn’t help a brand new person has never assembled a helicopter! I know I’m personally a visual learner so I wanted to make these videos as easy to follow as possible

    Love the build series. You make a fantastic instructional vid Jeff. Easy to follow.
    These SAB kits go together beautifully. Think when it's time to get a more advanced heli, I'll very much look at one of these. Really good looking kit.
    PS: Your wire routing is exceptional mate. Perfect.

      Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy these videos! Yes! Definitely look into SAB. Hands down best helicopters on the market. They build better than any other and fly like no other! Thank you! I am very particular on wiring and they have to be absolutely perfect

    I'm looking at maybe getting a mini Genesis myself, but it's amazing how easy these helicopters are to put together and I love your build videos, you make them easy to understand and a lot of you personal tips and things to pay attention too for someone like me who is very new to building helicopters

      The mini Genesis looks like an awesome little machine and I hope I can build one! I greatly appreciate that, when I started this channel and decided to focus on helicopters, I wanted to make it where anybody could follow along build step-by-step, and have a perfect built and flying helicopter in the end

    Thanks for these builds!
    Gemini and Nimbus arrive in a couple days. I want em both for different reasons and waffling between the two wasn't going anywhere haha. I'm gonna have my own battle of the bands showdown lol.
    Now if only I could get Switch and Rotortech blades to show up online lol. I did at least get Azure from BK, still checking daily for them to restock Switch. Helidirect too has been out of stock for over a month on Rotortechs.
    Is this par for the course on 550 size blades to have it so hard to secure top shelf or just a fluke that nobody has had anything in stock now since I started looking back in mid September?

      That’s awesome! I’m excited to hear your thoughts on both models. I have really been enjoying my Tron lately. Flew it 9 times on Saturday! Both the Tron and XL are great flying helicopters. Like I have said before personally in today’s market, you cannot go wrong with almost any of the options. All these companies compete with each other they build fantastic models and it all comes down to personal preference what you like and or enjoy, and of course, every helicopter has its own characteristics or corks they do fly different, but they all fly very good. I think the blade issue is because 550s became super popular again and nobody can keep stock. I know Bert is waiting on switch blades to come back in. I’ll try to find out an ETA for you.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 I can give good feedback on the build comparisons on each for sure, flight characteristics...maybe not so refined/professional grade of an opinion. I can hover and do some mild banking, that's about it. A gyro assist or resque free flight is my current measure of success. I am recently now going inverted on my S1 and S2 for a few seconds at a time, both are now converted to ELRS. LOVE IT!
      As for blades...sometime this week or next for Switch @BK, going to try and secure a set for my Venom as well. Helidirect expects RotorTech Ultimates closer to Thanksgiving ooffff.
      I dont want to be a blade hoarder and kill it for others who are also eager for blades, so I'm only going to secure 1 set RTU, Azure Pro and Switch for each. Lesson learned tho, eventually Ill just have to stock a wall of spare blades pinned to it, much like I had to build a modest stock pile of spare parts for my S1, S2 and RS4. Playing the waiting game for 5-7 business days for delivery and gambling it's even in stock when needed has taught me that lesson already.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 560 RotorTech Ultimates in stock at Helidirect. Got my set secured; Azures came the other day, all that's left is a set of Switch and BK is due any day now I heard. Gemini and Nimbus should be here in a few hours! What a great winter project im going to have!

    On the old goblins the boom was attached with a nylon screw. Here it is steel. is the boom somehow weakened so that it does not destroy the frame in a fall? Of course, no fall is the same as a fall, but I liked the old solution and it worked :-) Thank you.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Місяць тому +1

      @@SMModels1200 the krakens were the same way. 9/10 crashes the nylon bolts would not break anyways and still destroy the boom lol so I’m assuming they just got rid of the nylon bolts because they caused flex but I don’t know for sure.

    • @SMModels1200
      @SMModels1200 Місяць тому

      @westhobbiesrc8051 Yes i understand it is clear to me that the boom was often damaged. but I solved the frame. Changing the frame is more difficult. Now the metal screw will definitely destroy the frame. Maybe the connection is so tight that only the boom will be destroyed. But thanks for the answer :-)

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Місяць тому +1

      @ I completely understand that! I’ve not crashed it so I can’t say for sure but! The boom being a lot smaller I would assume it will snap before the frame? But only time will tell! Luckily the frame sides are very easy to change out but definitely don’t want them breaking if you can help it.

    Hi Jeff, did you have an issue with the anti rotation pin touching the canopy?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      @mikefuchs2814 Місяць тому +1

      @westhobbiesrc8051 hi Jeff, yes mine touches at higher collective. Like the pin is too long or canopy needs to be trimmed like 1/8".

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      @ hmm! I’ve got three of them here, one is mine and one is a buddy and I’m building an anther one for a customer and none of them touch, I just checked again. Is the pin hitting the plastic spacer if the canopy? Can you email me pictures so I can get a better idea? westhobbiesrc@hotmail.com
