I love a pintuck and I had been on a quest for a pintuck foot for my treadle, I have been successful. Everything will be tucked and detailed and beautiful. But my desire is not yours. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Pattern collection is a hobby, you are culling the collection, I prefer to say that you are curating the collection 😉 but it's fun to go through it and see what you have been collecting. 😂🎉😮
The Vogue shirt with all of the gather IS epic and would also make an amazing dress with a super full skirt. I would be interested in a sew along with that one. Please, would you make it next year? Either in early Spring or early Autumn? Imo, you don't even need to starch it. In my mind, it would ripple and swirl so prettily! Maaaake iiiit... Make it, make it, make it! Lol❤❤❤
I love those Now and Then patterns!
Oh my goodness, Vogue 1845 is epic!! That could absolutely be a dress, and would look fabulous on you. And Vogue 1769 would be a great starting point for the All Saints shirt. Pleeeaaaassssee make that, because it's gorgeous! Lynne 🤩🤩
I like the idea of turning patterns into dresses as I am a dress girl as well.
I was thinking that the couple of tie front shirts should be made up at the same to compare to your favourite pattern. Thus a decision of which is best for you can made.
The last Vogue with the frill details would be great in a different print to the body of the dress. Seeing that Mum is a quilter she can help you choose the different fabric. xxxxxxx
You were quite ruthless; well done! I think you did a really good job weighing the pros and cons of similar patterns and keeping just the ones that worked better for you. It's a pitfall I've stumbled into myself, liking similar patterns and buying them for what they are individually rather than in relation to my existing collection. I've gotten better about that when shopping, but haven't culled anything yet. So far, my patterns still fit into one of my under-bed drawers (just), so I still have some wiggle room. 😂❤
Viscose twill is my favorite fabric to wear. Not my favorite to sew but not the worst .
Added MORE patterns to my wish list LOL.
What about elongating the Vogue 1845 into a shirt dress? I think all of those pleats would make a wonderfully full skirt to spin in!
Edited to add: I see some other commenters had the same idea lol, I hope you do it and then film some epic twirling shots
I think you would really suit the tops and trouser look.
So interesting. Thanks Sian ☺️☺️
Complete squee! moment I was unaware of v1387, or indeed Rebecca Taylor other than I own a silk blouse bought secondhand, which is my absolute best favourite blouse ever, which has that name in it, which I've been vaguely looking out for the best possible patten dupe for ages AND THAT IS THE BLOUSE! Everyone else is probably a bit more on the ball with their 'knowing the brands and designers' game , but I rely on fleeting information randomly finding me - like this. I'm off the utilise that information right away. The internet does still seem to have a good number of copies of this to be obtained if this key news for anyone else!
Why would you not make V1845 a staple piece for your wardrobe? You know you can wear things as often as you want to.
Could you save the shirts for under the pinafore dresses
