    We couldn't be more thankful for the quality of this video, and the time you spent making it! We've been waiting to get it on some Cybertrucks, as we think it's perfect for them, and solve the problems of some other systems/coatings. He was able to do this with just some verbal instructions. This is great and very informative!.

    Can you show us what the truck looks like in the sun? I’m curious to see how much the coating changes the appearance before I try it myself. Thanks!

      It looks no different outside than inside. It very slightly darkens and evens out the finish. It’s a little less stark stainless and has a little more depth. Most people wouldn’t even realize that it’s on if they didn’t know better.

      I am beginning to think there should be a Cybertruck option where there is a conventional steel/painted body......like all of the other Teslas. I have 2 Teslas and find them easy to clean and maintain. (2023 Model 3 RWD-BLUE, 2023 Model YLR-WHITE) Especially like the white, though it could use a bit more pearl.

    Great DIY! Thanks for showing this. Curious, after you do a normal car wash, foam bath, etc… does the protectant still have the same performance? Also, does this protection provide a hydrophobic barrier where the water just beads up? Awesome stuff.

    I am still convinced that Elon's inspiration came from a common trash can unlike the common belief that it was from the Delorean...All jokes aside, stoked you got your dream truck.

    Remember to always wipe with the grain on the metal. Otherwise you will get scratches that become visible.

    • @LukeSoderling
      @LukeSoderling  4 місяці тому

      Yeah, direction of grain is a good idea. This lays out so nice that you really don’t get any directional grain after it dries though. Very impressed with how well it worked.

      We gets 2-3 years out of it on pontoons depending on use. Really just depends on use, etc... on the bright side you don't have to strip it off to apply another coat.

      Quick and to the point. Application and (and the video) were 1/10th the time of the competition, Protectaclear. Product seems similar, but your technique was lightening fast.

      Can you please do a follow up video on how it's holding up against bugs, road grime, washing the truck, etc.? Any con?

    • @LukeSoderling
      @LukeSoderling  4 місяці тому +1

      @@warriorsf911 It has held up very well considering the harsh excitement it’s been in. We live on a dirt road that has been under repair so the truck has been completely covered in dust, mud and sand. I used a vehicle wash brush a few times without realizing it would leave scratches with the sand, so there are some scratches now in the finish. I’ve switched to a microfiber pad and a pressure washer to get all the sand and dust off first. I’ll re apply the Sharkhide now to get a perfect finish again. I’m so glad I had it on as the scratches would have been in the stainless and not the Sharkhide that can be fixed.

    Would there be any issues with applying a wrap over the treated panels?

    • @LukeSoderling
      @LukeSoderling  4 місяці тому +1

      That would be a question for the wrap companies. You can remove this easily though with lacquer thinner and then a wrap would be no issue for sure.
