It's All Pointless!" during the 1 year anniversary stream of "Your City Gave Me Asthma" and seeing this song on "Pebble Brain" made my ENTIRE day back in October. I am so happy to continue watching this band grow and fill out shows and maybe even arenas one day! Y'all rock

I still remember the first time I saw a stream, just some British teenager playing guitar in the dark making up a song about discord on the spot. I didn’t know how much of a positive influence on my life he’d become. Nice job, Lovejoy. And congrats on making it Wilbur, you deserve it all.

I really love when lyric cards are unique, not just text on a screen, like in I'm in Love with an E-Girl with the notepad and Your New Boyfriend with the emails. The style in this video is very visually appealing while still being readable.
one thing i REALLY like about this is that it doesnt only show wilbur. it shows literally the whole band. i dont like it when people refer to lovejoy as “wilbur soots band” because they’re all so fantastic together. whoever made this, major respect
if the common colorful psychedelic stuff is trippy in a sort of "gloopy" way, like molasses, then this is trippy in a way that feels like getting saltwater in your hair and breathing fresh air. Not sure if this will make sense to anyone else, but it's super cool! Also, love the "Anvil Cat Records" easter egg! Very cute, and perhaps a good name for a real label? 👀
I had heard the rest of PebbleBrain but I for some reason never heard "It's all Pointless! It's all Futile" and I just heard it yesterday. The entire Album is fantastic and each song fits well with each other song before it. The style of the edit is very cool with the scrap-book sort of mash up of edits what the lyrics incorporated. I know I am bad at describing it and I can not stress just how well everything about the song and rest of PebbleBrain is put together.

I first time I heard this was during a car ride late at night going home. I fell in love with it instantly. Honestly one of my favorite songs by Wilbur. It then has helped me during certain times and I'll always have a soft spot for it. Then Pebble Brain came out and it hit me like a train. The sound was completely different and it now holds a different meaning. It shows how not only the artist, but how I also have grown. The music video was marvelous and it just tied the bow ontop of this song.
this song always resonated with me the most out of all the lovejoy songs, the lyrics convey so many things that i think ring true for myself and probably a lot of other people just like the overall feeling of what you thought you felt with someone just kinda taking you over, and realizing how much is gone once that person’s left, and kind of watching what you had from afar while still having to carry on and the concept for the music video and the whole vibe of it is gorgeous, i love it sm
i think the amazing thing about lovejoy and their music is how magical and reminiscent their songs feel and especially this one; seeing as its all futile! its all pointless! is one of wilburs old songs makes it hold that reminiscence and the magic derived from the pure serotonin that straight up emmits from the instruments contrasted with that depressing story told in the lyrics just makes it such a powerful song and i feel like all of this combined makes lovejoy what they are - an incredible band with an incredible sound that is for the people

When Pebble Brain came out I remember seeing the title and just going “wait- as in Maybe I was boring??” The song had kinda always made me think of stuff that happened to me, (which I’m over now), so when I heard the Lovejoy version, I was blown away. The original had always felt like talking to an old friend after a late emotionally drinky night, but this? It’s like a “fuck it! Scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs.” kind of deal. I dunno man, this is just one of my favourite things ever. It’s also super cool just seeing how far Wilburs come, and I’m excited to see what else Lovejoy will go on to do :]
The original version of this song is one of my favourites of all time, so to see it progress as far as it has is incredible. Lovejoy gives it a completely different vibe and I'm so happy to see it change from something simple to having a music video with proper artistic production. Will's version has always meant a lot to me, and i honestly never thought it'd be taken further than the beautiful acoustic version that helps me sleep at night. I cant describe the joy i felt seeing it on the album, knowing that more people will be exposed to the song and maybe even check out the original version that holds such a dear place in my heart. This entire EP as a whole is beautiful, although I seem to resonate with this song, the fall, and concrete the most. It is goddamn AMAZING how you can piece drums a guitar or two and some lyrics to create something that sticks with people for the rest of their life. I have struggled with mental illness for most of my life, and these songs make me feel at home and at peace with it. This song for me feels like fighting a battle with depression, you want to get up and live a productive life and see the world but your brain and your demons are struggling against you to stay on the couch and to forget everything that matters. I want to give Wilbur and the rest of the band my deepest thank you's for how much this EP has change my life as a whole and made me see that life is worth living. Thank you

this song always resonated with me the most out of all the lovejoy songs, the lyrics convey so many things that i think ring true for myself and probably a lot of other people
just like the overall feeling of what you thought you felt with someone just kinda taking you over, and realizing how much is gone once that person’s left, and kind of watching what you had from afar while still having to carry on

i think the amazing thing about lovejoy and their music is how magical and reminiscent their songs feel and especially this one; seeing as its all futile! its all pointless! is one of wilburs old songs makes it hold that reminiscence and the magic derived from the pure serotonin that straight up emmits from the instruments contrasted with that depressing story told in the lyrics just makes it such a powerful song and i feel like all of this combined makes lovejoy what they are - an incredible band with an incredible sound that is for the people

i really love how this one sounds v cheery with a bunch of instruments because i think it represents how hes moved on, in contrast to the maybe i was boring version where it was very mellow with just guitar. though, again, i really love both of them equally and they give me so much happiness!

I remember first listening to this, as in when it was just one of the songs Will wrote. When Pebble Brain came out I remember seeing the title and just going “wait- as in Maybe I was boring??” The song had kinda always made me think of stuff that happened to me, (which I’m over now), so when I heard the Lovejoy version, I was blown away. The original had always felt like talking to an old friend after a late emotionally drinky night, but this? It’s like a “fuck it! Scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs.” kind of deal. I dunno man, this is just one of my favourite things ever. It’s also super cool just seeing how far Wilburs come, and I’m excited to see what else Lovejoy will go on to do :]

The original version of this song is one of my favourites of all time, so to see it progress as far as it has is incredible. Lovejoy gives it a completely different vibe and I'm so happy to see it change from something simple to having a music video with proper artistic production.
Will's version has always meant a lot to me, and i honestly never thought it'd be taken further than the beautiful acoustic version that helps me sleep at night. I cant describe the joy i felt seeing it on the album, knowing that more people will be exposed to the song and maybe even check out the original version that holds such a dear place in my heart.

I remember listening to ‘maybe I was boring’ in march. The last bit was stuck in my brain for months. Listening to this the first time, I was absolutely shocked, I got so happy to see the way you turned a masterpiece into an even better song!! I’ve been listening to this song on repeat!

i remember hearing It’s All Futile It’s All Pointless for the first time on Maybe I Was Boring and that was the moment i decided i wanted to play guitar - i wanted to be able to do the same magic Wilbur can do. This entire EP as a whole is beautiful, although I seem to resonate with this song, the fall, and concrete the most. It is goddamn AMAZING how you can piece drums a guitar or two and some lyrics to create something that sticks with people for the rest of their life. I have struggled with mental illness for most of my life, and these songs make me feel at home and at peace with it. This song for me feels like fighting a battle with depression, you want to get up and live a productive life and see the world but your brain and your demons are struggling against you to stay on the couch and to forget everything that matters. I want to give Wilbur and the rest of the band my deepest thank you's for how much this EP has change my life as a whole and made me see that life is worth living. Thank you
