Pushups (Or rather the muscles they exercise) aren't all that useful for an obstacle course like this, pullups and squats, on the other hand, are essential. But you could probably run this with the same time they got only being able to do 10 pushups as long as you've conditioned everything else.

This isn’t really a fair test because Marines train on obstacles all the time, while the Navy mostly do ship related drills. The Navy doesn’t focus on heavy exercises like these, unless you’re in a combat type job. Good video, tho.

What do you mean? Swinging arms more? It looks a little odd at times for people to run that way,but maybe trying to utilize more body mechanical movements to go faster? I dont know.
We run a lot more than other branches so usually we follow running techniques that will let us run long distances and don’t get tired quickly. I know I used to always run with my head always up, didn’t close my fists, and controlled my breathing....looks awkward sometimes but it works

As a former Marine I knew the outcome before it started. We live, eat and shit physical agility obstacles. Running 8 miles around flight lines 3 times every week was routine. Nice job to both women and thank you both for your service. No matter what branch of service you decide to serve in I respect and thank you all for doing what less than 1% of our country contribute to. Keep up the good work of keeping us safe and free!😁😁😁😁😎

Physical fitness and an obstacle course like this are fairly different things. Both of those girls could probably best me in every exercise other than pullups, but I bet I'd get a better time than both of them on this course just by sheer training and technique.

Why should anyone feel indebted and obligated to these people. I sometimes wish a lot of folks didn’t join the forces just because America would stay out of other countries’ business

But I can see you’re one of those people who don’t respect a persons decision to join the military whether it’s because they can’t afford college or not. And actually, the only people who are even eligible for “free” education are those in active duty. Yet ask how many of them actually have time to get a degree while being active duty. And even the fact that a person would have the bravery to join the military full knowing the mental and physical conditions they suffer (mind you regardless if they see “combat” or not) is more commendable than anything else. I’m not here to argue, and frankly don’t want to. But I hope you can see my point and respect all of those in the military.
If people wouldn't join the army, it would leave your country defenseless and vulnerable to attack. Just leaving that there .

@T T if you're fine with your hair looking gelled down (the marine clearly is) you don't even really need spray. A lot of gel is actually enough ime. (and if you do something water based you can use gelatine😅 that's more of a synchronized swimming thing afaik btw)

The navy doesn't really do heavy drills like this. They do whip related drills. Someone put them up against a marine in the first divison and watch them get destroyed.

This should be how the PFA is completed. This proves so much more as far as fitness is concerned. Push ups, sit ups and 1 1/2 mile run isn’t really proving anything. When I served as a Seabee, our PT was designed for real life scenarios.
