Yes, when forced, we must choose the lesser of 2 evils because our duty is to limit evil - if we can't completely prevent it. You are wrong. Your assertion is based on the false belief that the presidency is determined by a single national popular vote. It is not. We have 51 separate elections. In 44 out of those 51 elections, your vote won't affect the outcome of the election AT ALL. In such circumstances, one should vote for the best candidate regardless of that candidate's chance of winning. It is only a precious few swing states that determine the election: NV, AZ, WI, MI, PA, NC, GA.

This is BAD advice: The bishop should know better! Didn't Benedict XVI write on voting for candidates when abortion is an issue? Yes, when forced, we must choose the lesser of 2 evils because our duty is to limit evil - if we can't completely prevent it. However, Benedict pointed out that Catholics MUST exercise the virtue of prudence. Wasting our vote by (1) not voting, OR (2) voting for a pro-life candidate that has 0% chance of being elected, can be foolish and even sinful. Because it strengthens the pro-abort's chances of winning. At this stage, obviously the only candidates having any chance are Trump and Harris. Like it or not! Sadly, Trump has softened his position on abortion BUT it's still way better than that of the cackling sociopath, Harris.

You are wrong. Your assertion is based on the false belief that the presidency is determined by a single national popular vote. It is not. We have 51 separate elections. In 44 out of those 51 elections, your vote won't affect the outcome of the election AT ALL. In such circumstances, one should vote for the best candidate regardless of that candidate's chance of winning. It is only a precious few swing states that determine the election: NV, AZ, WI, MI, PA, NC, GA.

If your state has a huge majority of one party or the other, the odds of an unfortunately tiny minority of observant Catholics tilting the electoral vote either way by voting third party are very small. In Illinois, where Bishop Paprocki lives, voting for a GOP presidential candidate has as much impact on the electoral vote as spitting into a Category 5 hurricane given the overwhelming dominance of Chicago Democrats.
